As the snow began falling on Lamar County Friday afternoon, Lamar County public works director Bill Brown made a safety suggestion.
"We're asking that there be no unnecessary travel after dark or when the temperature is below 32 degrees. "Avoid all bridges and overpasses throughout this storm period. Ice will form quicker on them," Brown said.

Road conditions in Barnesville-Lamar County had begun to deteriorate at 4 p.m. with some slick spots appearing on highways.
I live less than 2 miles from work, and as I drove home, one car pulled out from a side street right in front of me.
Another SUV was just completing it's full circle slide as I came up Spencer Street.
It's not the snow- it's the DRIVERS.....
