Damien Battle knocked down 16 points to lead the Lamar County Trojans to a 74-65 win over Rabun County in the first round of the Class AA state tournament Friday night at the LCCHS gym.

How distasteful! This picture should have been cropped. It would have been better to see how close the ball was to the goal than to see where his hand was! Good grief!

Only ignorant people would make a statement like that. The kid is clearly going to the basket and not making any obscene gesture as you are implying. I seen nothing wrong with the photo. Good job Walter!

I'm certain that the kid had no idea the photographer was shooting him at that moment. During the intense heat of a game, no real athlete is going to be trying to ham it up for the camera. Maybe the HG could have cropped the shot, but why should they? It wasn't offensive to me.

That picture is not offensive.. Maybe your have a problem with it because it is the forgotten sport.. basketball

If you look closely at the picture.. #33 hands are in front of him, not on his crotch. If you knew the kids that played you would know this is one that would never do anything like that in the first place..

The Trojans were playing two games, one against Rabun, and the other against the officials. Good job beating BOTH Trojans!

I agree. I am not a sports fan but I love to support the Trojans...and to see the way the officials make calls that are wrong, even to a novice like me....These gentlemen will be held accountable for the lack of professionalism on and off the courts. Go Trojans!

The story was about the Trojans and their win and how great their season is going why make it about this picture!!!! The boys already don't recieve enough support as it is to have their win overlooked because someone decided to make this picture be more than it was intended to be. Let's celebrate the great job our guys are doing not find something to point fingers at. After all these are still kids who have worked really hard to get where they are and they deserve our support not discouragements. GO TROJANS!!!!!

Yeah he's making a shot. I bet the team is laughing about this. I know I would be. Don't you think that if he was doing what many of you claim he is doing his fingers would be curved? It's clear that his hand is straight and his hand is not even touching his pants. Good action shot Walter!

First of all this is not Damien so get the facts straight...the boy is clearly making a shot he is not doing this intentionally. Please people grow up and be adults; stop acting like children, because that is clearly the mentality that you all have.
