BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH more legal BS.
This is a statement from a concerned citizen, that is written in plain English with no fluff.
I FOR ONE DON'T WANT THIS POS LANDFILL. TAKE YOUR CRAP ELSEWHERE.....
I could care less what tactics are used to stop you and this landfill more power to them in their efforts to stop you.
I as tax paying hard working citizen of Lamar County hopes this has shed some helpful and reassuring light on my view of you Mr. Butler... And your clients and their willingness to destroy Northern Lamar County.
i hate the idea i dont care what kind of crap you type in your letter to "shed some helpful and reassuring light on your view" your view is crap because it is blocked by the big house you live in no where near where you are fixin to dump this. i have an idea how about you move this fill to your back yard and see how you like your water then. put it in your back yard first then you can put it in mine!
Hmmm, which is more full of crap George E. Butler II or his illustrious landfill? Well seeing how there is no landfill at the present time I guess that leaves you Mr. Butler.....
Like you have never tried hoodwink anyone. You are an attorney; sorry that makes you guilty by association.
You make the following claims in your letter Mr. Butler a portion of which you have quoted:
And, as suggested, the local populace should be protected either way. If it is not a significant groundwater recharge area—but is like 9/10ths of the rest of the State—then there is no danger of “irreparable harm to drinking water supplies throughout the area.”
Let's take your first statement there is one key word there "SHOULD". My question is who's going to protect us and from what? Secondly who foots the bill tax payers of Lamar County? Then comes the portion in Quotes. So what you are saying here is there could be harm however it will be repairable, well thats fine and dandy but again who pays for the repairs, how often do the repairs have to be done and again who foots the bill????
So while you sit in your office 117 miles away, I hope you enjoy knowing that you have caused damage to others..... Maybe one day the tables will turn; your reaction would be a nice spectacle I'm sure judging you by what I have seen from you so far... Have a nice day
And you are writing this letter... WHY? Like we are suppose to trust you??? There are two types of people I have always been told not to trust; attorney's and politicians. Well one of those is you and the other is our fearless county commissioners and come election time hopefully we can change half of the above equation. To bad we can't vote you out along with them. So IMHO your letter isn't worth the paper you wrote it on and it certainly isn't worth what you are going to rake in from your clients.
Thank you commission for continuing the fight to keep this dump out. This is more than I can say about our previous commissioners in allowing Florida Rock to walk all over our community.
Man that guy looks like Bill Nye the science guy! If he were to teach this like Bill Nye taught science I would have been more interested in reading it.

Opposed to the Landfill

Don't believe everything that you read. Ask yourself why Judge Wilson would sign an order that undid the settlement with Carlyle and then reverse himself two weeks later. Just maybe there was some connection there with Carlyle and pressure was brought to bear on him. Also, if Butler was so confident that the landfill would be permitted by the EPD he would have applied by now. It also seems odd that Carlyle has probably spent in excess of $100,000.00 in attorneys fees getting the county to designate it as a suitable EPD approved site but didn't know whether it would be permitted because it was in a water recharge area. Instead, they have just now started undertaking studies to determine if it is a water recharge area that requires a lined landfill? Seems to me they didn't do their homework and are trying to work around the definition of water recharge area and plan to threaten the EPD with suit if they don't give them the permit. It seems to me that the only misleading of the citizens of this county are the people trying to assure everyone that a landfill is good for us. What a load of garbage!!!
