Both Jefferson and North Oconee have sparkling records, and it will be a challenge for the Trojans to not get swept against either one of those opponents.
The game against Callaway was indeed a heart breaker, but the Trojans found a way to lose a game that they should have won. They led by 3-runs on two different occasions in the game, but poor game management by the coaches, and some mental & physical mistakes by the players cost them a key region game. And, instead of having to play a lower seed from Region 8-AA in the state tournament, they now will have to play one of the higher seeds in Jefferson, or North Oconee, on the road.
Poor base running decisions, bunting at the wrong times, keeping the starting pitcher in too long, calling the wrong pitch(es) on an 0-2 count(s)several times, thereby giving up base hits, an infielder making the wrong decision with the bases loaded, and the infield drawn in -- throws to first base on a ground ball instead of getting the force out at home plate -- thereby giving up a run, shortstop making two bad throws to first base, 3rd baseman making an errored-throw to first base. etc., etc., etc...
Nobody will out work these guys, but the Trojans are not playing smart baseball, and it's costing them dearly.
