A woman has come forward to claim the $5000 reward offered in the case of slain police dog Jimi who resided with his handler/partner Chad Moxon in Lamar County.

it makes no difference what the lady says.nothing will happen to the pippins .because they are wallers buddies.its lamar county folks!

I have been a friend of the Pippins for over 20 years. They are good decent hard working people. Sherry Hayes is anything but HONEST. She never talked to Geraldine Pippin as quoted in the paper. She is a piece of garbage that changes the facts of the case to slander the Pippin name and get the reward money. If somebodys dog were trying to hurt me or my family i would not hesitate to put it down. I guess a lot of you southern inbred people would let a dog maul or kill a person or baby. I have talked to the Pippins and they did not know it was a k-9 when they shot it. There were no tags on the dog either. People will believe that there were because it makes for a more interesting story than a man protecting his family from a vicious dog. Everybody that bad mouths the Pippins, do it on a computer.Nobody has the guts to speak to Geraldine or Kevin face to face. In closing look up Georgia law 4-8-5. No person shall perform a cruel act on any dogs nor shall any person harm,maim, or kill any dog, or attempt to do so, except that a person may : DEFEND HIS PERSON OR PROPERTY, OR THE PERSON OR PROPERTY OF ANOTHER, FROM INJURY OR DAMAGE BEING CAUSED BY A DOG. My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with the Pippins.

They DO need your thoughts and prayers...maybe next time they will do the Christian thing and tell the grieving family that they shot the dog out of "self defense" instead of hiding it. They may be nice people but they are obviously still working on being good/moral people.

I think the problem comes in where they tried to hide it all and never came forth.

I also dont think she is too honest (pippin). She did pull some funny stuff on the past elections. Things come back on people eventually.

If Mrs Hayes is such an outstanding citizen why did she "come forward" months later? I'm not taking up for Mrs.P., it will be interesting to see what the grand jury does, by the way how is the grand jury selected? I see the same people time after time, I have been a resident, registered voter and property owner in Lamar for many years rarely am I on the traverse list...hmmmmm

lamar county has always had its "old money folks" and the "good ol boy network" but people like these are scared to death because they know their power is slowly dieing off and will one day be replaced by honest truthfull people.maybe lamar county will one day soon catch up with the rest of the modern world.

I hope the money was worth it. It is public now that you are a snitch and will sell out your friends.

And if there are wild and aggressive dogs running after me or my family or pets, I'd do what I had to, to protect them also.

The problematic part of this whole story has been the fact that the death of Jimi and the torturing of the Moxon family dog were both widespread news for weeks and the Pippins covered it up. That is what alarms me.
If the facts were true, and the dog was attacking, why not just say so and face the consequences of that? But covering it up takes the incident into a whole 'nother level. Surely you can see that?
By the way, Retired Veteran, I will get you a buddy pass on Delta, and I'll even pay your portion of the one-way ticket to relocate you.

Does anyone have a clue as to when all of this will go to trial or even if it will !
I would like to sit in and just listen, I know both families and am not taking sides but before I would kill a dog there has to be a darn good reason, more than just a dog showing it's teeth.

Yeah I was surprised that she didn't say she was donating any of the money anywhere. Even though most of the time they are lying, usually when people come into money from something like this they always say that they are donating it to some animal shelter or something.

Actually I guess it was refreshing to see someone be honest and say "Nope, using the money all for me"

Why aren't you guys all over the Pippin's like you were with Micheal Vick. When he was cruel to animals. All you would hear was dog killer. Most of you said nasty things and left ugly comments. Is it because she's white?

The Pippins and Micheal Vick are nothing alike. Micheal vick had pittbulls fight to the death (which is very sick and inhumane). The Pippins were defending their property and self from a vicious dog. The only thing they did wrong was not come forward. I think it is very simple minded you are trying to make this a racial issue. This is about the facts of the case, not a black or white issue.

You don't know the facts surrounding the actual shooting any more than I do. You weren't there. All any of us know is the Pippins didn't come forward and tried to hide what they did. Someone else had to rat them out. I also saw the way she passed her tax commissioner seat over to her little friend so she is no stranger to being less than a straight arrow.

All I have to say is if a dog of any kind or anyones comes in my yard and acts agresive in any way its a goner. I can replace a dog not a kid or the damage a dog can do to a person if attacked. I love my dogs and the same goes for them. There is a lot more to this story im sure the Pippins are good people. Im sorry it was not in the line of duty, the handler was not with the dog, so to everyone I know that makes it just a dog. I have heard all types of rommurs on this I would love to know the facts on how the dog got out of its pen in the first place.
