Your question should be; Would you want your son or daughter serving under McChrystal or Petraus? I have liked both, however I cannot understand why McChrystal got hacked by Rolling Stone. Makes me a little nervous about someone in charge of our our millitary making that kind of a mistake. If my son or daughter was serving I would feel better about Peteraus.
Take a good look at that photograph. Supposedly the most powerful person in the world can’t look the man in the eye during the conversation. However, General McChrystal has no apparent problem maintaining eye contact. It paints the picture of the little antelope about to be devoured by the lion
OK then! What about Obama?
1. Bows to a Saudi king.
2. Apologizes for America everywhere he goes.
3. Blames everything on George Bush.
4. Unable to show respect during the playing of the National Anthem.
5. Can spend 13 Trillion with nothing to show for it.
6. Raised a Muslim, attends an Anti-American church, gets discovered, and tries to play it down.
7. Commander in Chief but requires months to make a decision about troops and never served in the military.
8. Oh! He wants to give amnesty to all the illegal aliens by executive order.
9. Maintains close relationships with known home grown terrorist then allows the DHS to refer to returning veterans as terrorist.
10. Practices bombing runs with Air Force One over New York City. However, he alleges that he had no knowledge of it. I guess he allows joy rides to be taken in his airborne command post.
If the shoe fits….. Obama was within his rights to do what he did and McChrystal was in the wrong to let this happen. Yet, I’ll make my own conclusion.
General McChrystal sacrificed his position and his career to expose Obama for what he really is as Commander in Chief. He did it tactfully and responded with an apology to the Office of President. But the point was presented. I wouldn’t hesitate a second to serve under McChrystal and would't fear a family member serving either!
Gen. David Petraeus will do a good job.
Weigh-in KK.

Did Obama have the right to fire McChrystal? Of course he did. Firing was appropiate for what was written in the article which I understand McChrystal did not refute. The important question is should have Onama fired him and why was their so much dissatisfaction with the civilian leadership in McChrystal's headquarters.
I would suggest Obama should not have fired Gem Mc. because he is the general that wrote the "book" and is the acknowledged expert on counter-insurgency doctrine, which is the current battle plan in Afganistan. Gen Mc was Obama's hand picked general. I think a public slap and stern warning along with the firing of several of Gem Mc's loud mouths staff was what the President should have done.
The really important question is this. Before Obama, the last time a war time commander was fired was MacArthur by Truman in Korea. Now our current president has fired two commanders in less than two years. Remember the commander prior to Gen Mc was fired and sent home by Obama. Why? This hasn't been done since Lincoln in the Civil War. Is the underlying problem the military commanders or is it Obama?
Obviously I don't have the inside information to truly know. But the old saying is "if there is smoke, there is fire somewhere."
This is not a question of Obama or McChrystal. It is a question of a 4 star general breaking rank and openly criticizing the commander in chief. A major mistake no matter who is in office. Do this in private, but not in a magazine article. A very good soldier made a very lame mistake.
Im glad he said it but sorry that he has to face the consequences for it. He speaks the truth and everyone knows it. This thing could be over with if it wasnt "wimps in washington".
I like the comment that I read yesterday that said

Electing this mongrel was such an excellent idea.
Obama/Waller, two mistakes that need correction.
Neither are too swift.
