It hasn't been very often in recent decades that Americans could truly say we are a little freer today than we were yesterday. The trend, sadly, has been in the opposite direction.

The purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to permit the people to rise up against a tyrannous government. The Founding Fathers were about the oppression that can come from an overly ambitious federal or state government when they wrote that into the Constitution. That's why the federal government along with select state and local governments are desperate to remove gun rights from the citizens today. With one unconstitutional law passed after another, the federal government is moving America to a police state.
The best way to exercise complete control over the masses is to disarm them and make their 'safety' the responsibility of the government.
It didn't work in Rwanda though. The Hutus and the Tutsis simply hacked each other to death with machetes.
And the communists disarmed the Ukrainians and them starved them to death.
Yeah - gun control is great for government but not so great for the citizens.
You left out the part about gun control being a part of the communist manifesto.
Government can't seize control from armed citizens and a military won't go to war against its citizens for government alone.
Obama is at a critical crossroad of his government takover. It's getting more difficult for him to expose his agenda.
No need to comment all you anti America people. Ya'll go back to doing what ya'll do best by lip locking Obama's butt cheeks with close eyes and closed brains.
Two thoughts here from one of our founding fathers,,,
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
Thomas Jefferson
When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.
Thomas Jefferson
I think it’s funny that so many believe having a personal firearm will prevent more government take over. If it were to get to that could you kill someone who is also an American and was drafted by the very government that you are taking arms against? A husband, son, father, brother of your neighbor, could you?....I think not.

And how could I leave out the communist scum infesting the US.
Thank you for setting me straight on that one!
