A raging fire destroyed a home at 124 VFW Road Friday afternoon. A lack of hydrants in the area hampered firefighters' efforts but the home was near fully engulfed when they arrived.

Glad that the family and pets are ok.
I'm doubting that there are actually people that are unable to make it onto the VFD. After the guys I've seen working I'm guessing anyone can make it on there. A "real" department with paid firefighters would have "real" firefighters. Seems simple to me.
Somebody needs to get out from behind that desk and air-condition office and look at this problem,Who is responsible for this situation anyway?
PLEASE lets all do what we can, this may have been one of us so please lets share all we can.
Please don't say "Well so-in-so is giving so I don't need to!" what if so-in-so is saying the same thing !
However, the roundabout will be put in by the state, since ya know, it will be on a state highway. Just sayin.
However the state can investigate and still not find suitable cause for the fire. I know this from personal experience. I watched my grandmothers house burn down and the investigators came to conclusion that everything that had was inconclusive. But my cousins that lived in the house swore up and down that their dad burnt down the house on purpose. We may never know the real cause of the fire.
To be honnest everyone that has nothing better to than sit around and talk bad about other people when they are having the hardest time of their life, these people are worthless scum, and i hope they sleep at night. I do not wish anything like this on anyone but if it does ever happen to those who are taliking bad, i hope everyone will give them the same treatment as they have gave to this family. And as far as the paper goes, do not believe what you read. The house was only smoking when the fire department arrived at the home. This came right out of the mouths of more than one of the fire fighters at the location that day. The fire fighters did a great job, its not their fault this cheap county put in water hydrants, but never put water to them. There was no lack of Hydrants there was two right there but they had no water in them. This paper needs to mind their own business as-well.
