Officers from the Barnesville Police Department and the Lamar County Sheriff's Office conducted a raid July 1 at the Hot Shot store on Veteran's Parkway.

hey honey looks like you dont go to shop any were else go to every single gas station in barnesville and u will see them and dont forget reliable mart they open late night just for them and to name a few B & L, C & B, red apple ,benny's,jr's.
There are machines in all of Victors stores, they even pay out big on lottery tickets. They pay out cash money on the slot machines, so if Hot Spot is going to get raided then the rest of the stores here in Lamar should be too, Crossroads, Jrs, Relaible, Cheveron across from Moore Cheverolet, TJ's Bennies, did I miss anyone, if so sorry...
Why is it your concearn how much money people spend on whatever they want.
I think its foolish to play them but who am I to tell someone what they can spend their money on. If I was willing to blow 2-300 bucks, I would rather buy scratch off lotto tickets and do it up. You are guaranteed to win, but may not win all your money back. I think its pitiful that the state or any govnt agency has to make everything illegal they dont have their money in for tax purposes.
Our forefathers were for seperation of church and state. Some were even Atheist. Most of the "under God" symbols, ect was changed back around the 1950's.
You don't understand the separation of church and state. Our forefathers definitely built the foundation of the United States upon Christian principals but made sure you had the right to worship whatever you wanted. Not the other way around.
Here's an idea. Post you definition of separation of church and state so we won't have any misunderstandings. But first do a little research other than the ACLU charter.

Gary, I'm not always the best at articulating what I'm trying to say nor do I want to spend an hour on this site pleading my case. So instead I have a video that pretty much sums it up for me. Hope you like it.
I really don't have a problem with these machines since they don't interest me at all.
But I do know one young lady whose husband was in there playing on the machines when she thought he was working.
Yes, their business went under and I guess she just thought the customers weren't paying them. I wonder if her husband got paid and put the money in these machines.....?
he could have been doing that. In this case, I would get a divorce and be by myself. The machines are not at fault here. He could have easily spent his money on cash 3, scratch offs, or other gambling ways.
I think a lot of this tax crap is a bunch of junk. Soon there will be taxes on people with more than 2% body fat. Then you will have a tax because of the toxins that you breath out after taking in good air. The list goes on.
I find it funny they setup a sting on a local business owner for gambling when less than 100 yards from the police department there are bootleggers and drug houses. They resell alcohol and drugs all the time. Why don't you stop the parties in the hole that go all hours of the night and do something to better clean up our town? Now considering most gas stations have been doing this for years what made them look at Hot Shot? I guess he pissed off a good ole boy.
I really don't understand how people know what goes on in these places..... are you one of the customers? Another thing, stop snitching!!! Just because hot spot was caught, don't tell on every one else. This was taught when you were a child!!! mind your own business.
if you remember, the police dept was put on mill street to keep an eye on the drug dealers. you see they are doing that. must be getting quite a cut of the pie, since the dealing is still going on right under their noses.
yea the police dept was put there to stop the drug dealing-----it just made it easier for the look outs to watch the pd. good move---macon narcotics was put in the hood to stop the druggies but they watched the narcotics building and knew what undercover vehicles were being driven and who was snitching- cell phones are great.
The PD cant do anything about the store on mill street or the crows nest...look who owns them. Its all political. Im sure the police would love to shut all of that crap down but it wont happen cause the powers that be in B'ville are scared of up setting the blacks, especially the ones involved in politics....THINK about it people. Thay cant even set up road blocks near the crows nest because its a "racial" thing. Remember the council meeting?
What is wrong with the store on mill st or the crows nest? I'm talking about your first sentence. Also I was at the council meeting and I never heard anyone throw the race card! Also the man that said something about the road blocks is not involved in politics.
Do the owners of these establishments NOT know about all the drug dealing going on...on their property? They would be idiots if they didnt. In my opinion, especially the store on the corner, dont let all of the crack heads and dealers hang out all day and night...RUN THEM OFF. If the owner of the property is letting it happen, then maybe they should be arrested.
thats nothing new.theres a half a dozen or more illegal gambling joints in clayton county.the diff is they're better organized than these convenient stores in lamar county.and they dont just let anybody in,the doors are locked 24/7
this is about as stupid as the speed trap you enter as you approach Aldora on 341. Selective enforcement, income when needed. Typical BPD. Those machines have been at the Hot Spot since they were made illegal.
I know this story is old but what about the VFW?! I know for a fact they have nightly poker games that pay out BIG $$$ plus they have the machines too.. same as the Hot Spot's machines... i guess they dont get busted cuz some of the city official plays in these poker games themselves.. but if any of you are interested in a game to play, just call them up & ask what the buyin is for the night :) they would love for you to come! be careful though, most of the players there are DONKEYS lol

which governor will remove all slot machines from all c-stores in georgia. that may be the one i vote for.
to many people are additcted to the machines and spend too much of their income on the machines.
one problem with them is that they are not regulated. the owners can set the machines to pay out what they want it to.
get ride of the c-store casino's and build a real casino in georgia where the gaming will be regulated. its no different than lotto!
so yes to clarify before all the response comes. i am saying yes to regulated gaming in georgia, just not in every c-store. thanks.

Give me the chapter and verse.
Our Judge will just give them probation. This kind of investigation is a waste of their time.
