Right here is a perfect example of where costs could be cut. Lamar county is well on the way to insolvency and activities like this should be first to go.

If there was cash involved, the county keeps a good percentage of it. Further more, this gets 40k x2c pills off the street. These things can do serious damage to your body especially your back.

Those interdiction guys have seized over $300,000.00 in drug money this year alone, which is used to purchase items for the sheriff's office, pay for vehicle maintenance etc...thus SAVING the tax payers money! Everyday these officers put their lives on the line to keep us, the citizens of Lamar County, safe. I commend the three interdiction officers that work I-75. Thank you for doing a great job. God Bless you and every law enforcement officer.

Reason:
Probably Black or Hispanic. Has out of state tag (TX, FL, CA- Major Drug moving states). Probably did not look directly at officer( looks like he is fighting to not at deputy). The deputy probably saw a minor offence( tag light, failure to maintain lane) and stopped him. In my mind it is profiling but as long as they have a legit reason to stop him, it is legal. Ooh, and sometimes( not sure if this applies to LCSO, but DEA gives a hush-hush call to say this vehicle will be traveling between point A and B.) But Congrats to LCSO on a great bust.

In case you aren't keeping up on current events.

The county is virtually broke. 24/7/365 enforcement presence on 15,000 feet of I-75 makes for great press releases and back slaps from the Feds, but who the hell is paying for it?

What benefit does the taxpayer of Lamar receive from this event? Nothing. Larry Waller is looking mightily pleased with himself in the photo on the other site, beyond that I can see no benefit at all.

So, while I am paying taxes to have my property protected by the LCSO, they are busy keeping drugs off the streets of Miami Florida.

Instead of Waller's bunch protecting my property by patrolling in the immediate area, they are on I-75.

Maybe local law enforcement needs to concentrate on l-o-c-a-l criminal activity and stop hunting press coverage. After all, people in Miami Florida won't vote in the next Lamar sheriff's election.

How would two deputies make a difference patrolling the county? It wouldnt matter if there were a hundred deputies per shift, they still would not be able to patroll all neighborhoods. It didnt happen when your buddy was in office. It is impossible. It is impossible for the BPD. I say get a life and move if you have a high crime rate in your area. Better yet call the SO, let them know thiefs are running amuck in your neighborhood.

The SO will get money from that bust. They get to keep the car and money if it were found. Not to mention getting a large amount of drugs off the streets in miami or where ever. Do you understand that????Do you understand that the more they bring in, the less you have to pay? At least money isnt being wasted on new uniforms, new guns, new cars, bucket truck, motorcycles, and most of all training cost. Lets not forget the revolving door when your buddy was in office.

As far as trying to get his name in the paper, at least it is for something good the SO has acomplished. It made the news too. I bet that really pisses you off. Also, if I recall correctly, your buddy was in the paper a lot. He tried to toot his horn all of the time. And is still doing it. Look how many times he has been in the paper recently. Does that bother you? Personally I could care less.

last time i checked there were only one or two officers patrolling that area of lamar county... then they call for back up... so before you start rambling about your property not being protected know who is out there first... and if you are so worried about your property all you need to do is call the SO and they will step up patrol in your neighborhood

We need patrols out on the pike county / lamar county line over near The Rock Road. Maybe they should take his money and drugs and set him free for another try at it. We can free up the prison space for a real criminals. You can not stop people from self medicating. Look at all the "law abiding" people who get drunk to run away from life. It's only "OK" because the law says they allow it. What makes alcohol any better than ecstacy or pot or coke?

I wonder if he'll get more years in prison than Edgar Frye got after he dismembered a boy. 7 years and now he's ALLEGEDLY got a new name in Florida and is an accountant.

Well now your town is screwed. With that much missing exstacy, the price will go through the roof, soo.... Now all the addicts in your area must committ MORE crimes to pay the higher prices. Idot lawmakes. Focus the law enforement on violent crimes. Simple rules of supply and demand. I learned that in marketing class and I'm only 17yo. Legalize weed! It's the only drug that doesn't kill. I was coming to Lamar county to visit my family last week and on I-75 3 LCSO cars had 1 car pulled over. I was wondering how many LCSO officers are actually on duty durring a week day because it looked like most of them were out in I-75 performing a traffic stop.

And if my parents call for something it still takes an offer a minimum of 30 minutes to get out there for anything. What about the residents that the LCSO is supposed to be protecting and serving. Nice Job on the bust but don't forget about those that are in need of assistance from the LCSO.

Most people who use x are not violent people who steal and kill for a "fix". MDMA was first used as a drug to aid in therapy and was quite successful. The drug then began to flood the club scene were it was consequently made illegal. I find it ridiculous that the average person sees all drugs as bad..funny how alcohol isnt a big deal. Sadly its all cultural and not intellectual. People love to say *insert illegal drug* is terrible without any real knowledge of it.
