Nathan Deal topped Karen Handel in Lamar County voting in Tuesday's general primary runoff balloting for the Republican gubernatorial nomination..

Time to get back to the BASIC.
#1 Cut county Comm down to 3 from 5
2. cut out the amin job.
3 every dept court house included cut every 3rd job
4. cut the S.O. by 1/3 I remember it working with 8 deputies
5.reduce school board to 1 elected 2 advisors
appointed by the county comm.
5.cut all top pay by25%
6 put all tax and assessors back to the tax office let them handle it. all should be ran thru their anyway

The only problem I have with this is the school board suggestion.
Cut the number of members, yes, but let the county commission choose them? HELL NO!
These yahoos have screwed up the county while the school system is on the upswing.
I don't want them screwing that up too.

Good Deal! At least the majority of voters here had the sense NOT to be fooled by Karen Handel's wolf in sheep's clothing facade. She is a democrat running as a republican and even has Sarah Palin fooled.

Too funny that most people in the Lamar County are self-proclaimed Republicans. However, Lamar County is one of the poorest counties in Ga. It does not make sense for anyone making less than $150,000 a year to support the Republican party. They use the poor to scream and call names show there ignorance to push the agenda for the rich. The poor in this area only support the Republican party so they can feel important and feel as if they had a successful life. Stop fooling yourselves. Now I await the name calling from the angry and ignorant right. P.S. I'm a Independent.. Liberals are no better but they are at least more civil than the angry right.
