Pike County's Mack Crawford and Fletcher Sams of Fayette County will be appointed to the two vacant Griffin circuit judicial posts.

I hope these appointees have the moral character that is needed for the position they are undertaking. There has been enough nonsense, now it is time to show the correct leadership.

Don't know much about Crawford but Judge Sams is a perfect choice. Good morals, fair and a good leader. He should do you proud.

Time will tell....the truth is in the pudding say it anyway you like....but Does a District Attorney have TOO much authority when he can prevent a "decision of a Grand Jury" from even taking place? This is not a decision of a trial folks. this is a simple answer to a simple question.......SHOULD WE HAVE A TRIAL? Hell fire, then we have to suffer twenty more years of appeals, requests, and being sure that their steak is cooked to the right degree. F### this BS. Becky you just go on and give up on Justice. You and Jimmy both, obviously the DA has no gonads. When WAS he supposed to be re-elected?

I sincerely hope that these judges are more concerned with justice than with politics. The "Fayettenam" mentality of handing down draconian punishments regardless of individual circumstances of offense, just to appear "tough on crime," for the voters, is damaging to the fair and balanced judgements they are supposed to make in upholding the law while considering the facts. Also very hypocritical, when you know that the two judges who resigned were immoral and unethical, and perhaps in violation of the very laws they were sworn to uphold. One having public sex in his car with an attorney who appeared before him, the other sexually harassing an attorney, and both handing down the most ridiculously severe punishments to anyone who colored even slightly outside the lines of what is considered legal sexual conduct.

Crawford and Sams both grew up in big money families. I doubt if either one has ever had a job where there was a chance they might break a sweat. But i did enjoy Sams dads books. They cant be as bad as those two arrogant sex-crazed pieces of crap they are replacing. Just dont hope for miracles.

Donna Jo, I don't recall reading where Mack Crawford was arrested for assault. You sure this happened? Huh? huh? Are you sure you didn't 'slip and fall' after consuming a case of Busch? Huh? Was this before or after Jimmy Thomas locked you up? Huh? I would not bad mouth a good man like Judge Mack Crawford! My husband sez for you to 'zip it'!

Crawford has been rewarded (six figure salary for life) for being loyal to Sonny Perdue.
Politics as usual form the folks who were going to change the way Georgia does business.

What a joke they've been for the past 8 years.

Please don't display an uninformed opinion with the overly broad statement about sex offenders: "hand em high." I don't really think you want to hang the 20-year-old who had consensual sex with his 15-yr.-old girlfriend (and later married her) or the 22-year-old who spoke about consensual sex on the internet (but never went to meet her) with an undercover detective who portrayed herself as 16 in a couple months. These are some of the sex offenders you advocate killing. They are treated just like rapists and pedophiles under current law, and after time spent in prison, they must register and face extremely harsh work and living restrictions that prevent them from ever becoming productive citizens. Judges must use common sense and consider individual circumstances when dooming these types of "offenders" to lifetime punishment.
