The Lamar County commission will host what will likely be its last public hearing to collect citizen input on the millage rate tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the courthouse.
An increase of at least 1.5 mills is a certainty and a two mill increase is the likely outcome of the budgeting/hearing process

Wow......I would much rather have some 47 taxes burdening every aspect of a producing society. From cradle to grave!!
Normal folks have to do it in their households. They don't have the luxury of simply reaching into other people's pockets to make up the difference. They give up things and sacrifice.
If you can't make the tough decisions on where to cut, then get out of office......the job is too tough for you to handle!
I would like to thank our commissioners for taking on the difficult job at hand. Thanks guys.

If they do, do they have a county office there, or is it occupied by a private interest. If it is occupied by a private interest, how much rent does the private interest pay? If it collects rent, is the rent compatable with an office building of that size?
