The Buggy Days main event weekend kicks off Friday night with the annual concert and street dance at Ritz Park in downtown Barnesville.

I was walking past a Barnesville Police car and noticed a tag on the front. The tag had the word "ECUSES" with a red slash across it. Must be a part of Barnesville's zero tolerance campaign the Mayor was pushing a few months ago. My question is, Will they have zero tolerance on open containers and public drunks during Buggy Days? Will they enforce the littering laws? Or is the zero tolerance only for citizens and not during Buggy Days?

I am from out of town but I have family ties to barnesville. I wanted to know if Buggy Days has admission cost or if it is free to attend. I also wanted to know when are they having the pig chase?

free admission to the arts and craft festival. Pig chase is saturday night. Im not sure what time. Prob 6 or either 7 pm.

ZERO TOLERANCE ON BREAKING THE NOISE ORDINANCE??? That would be nice. I know the folks on my street are ready to start marching in front of the police station and city council members' houses with our boom boxes.

When you see your elected officials there, be sure to tell them you want the Donna Johnson case to be priority! Tell them Gretchen needs to be prosecuted as well!

the music and activities is great.. but i do agree they need to change it up a little... maybe have a karaoke contest instead of blues music, isn't that what BBQ & Blues is for? Do something for the people to enjoy... It just seems like all it is is an excuse for the chamber members and their high society folk to get drunk... the noise isn't a problem if they stick to the curfew of the city like they would anyone else... i think the pig chase is great should have it for adults too... anything goes well that needs to be advertised more... send something home with the school i would have loved to enter that but had no idea it even existed until walter posted it was canceled... even if we do give suggestions they wouldn't be heard cause they, i mean the chamber president, who does a crappy job at it anyways, does it their way... if downtown is going to be shut down the people that live here should have a say and yes suggest ways to improve it and make it better... again this is just my opinion and i am sure i will get nit picked and people will tell me to quit my bitching which is fine i don't see you giving suggestions... i hope everyone enjoys their weekend i know i will cause i will be spending it with family and friends and enjoying the festivities...

We should get to vote on whether to cancel this Buggy Days thing. Nobody I know even wants it anymore. I almost ran over some drunk preppies on a golf cart. They ran a stop sign and pulled right out in front of me on Thomaston St. Idiots.

Want to make Buggy Days better? Stop bringing in vendors that peddle made in China crap. Maybe bring in some vendors that do demonstrations of their art. ( a blacksmith for example )
Instead of cramming everyone into a small space, spread it out a little. Stop allowing pets! And finally (this is the best)....the kids have the greased pig chase...well.... the adults can have the same thing instead of pigs. Grease up the County Commission. Personally, I'd pay 20 bucks just to chase Jay's tubby a$$. Then if we catch them, you get to give them what they have been giving us taxpayers.

Just got back from Buggy Days and was impressed. There was a blacksmith, the booths appeared to be spread out and I didn't see any pets (downtown). Yee Haw, can't wait for the pig chase tonight. Jay, you may want to save a little of that grease for when I catch ya!

I cannot believe I actually paid 10 bucks to hear the worst music ever!!!! Master Blasters were good as always!!! The rest, well, they should be ashamed. 10 bucks? really? Im the idiot!! Never again. I will stay home next year!! last year was much better. Next year I will stay home and listen to it from my house for free. And yes more tax money should go to repaving the streets. Thomaston street is one of the prettiest streets in town and you need a four wheeler to drive down it. I make an out of the way trip around it every day to get to work because Im tired of getting a front end alignment once a month. If you swerve to miss a pot hole, you will hit cars in the other lane. Its ridiculous just like the dang street dance!

Buggy Days is just the same old crap. The only difference is its another year. Yeah we need vendors who don't market wares that are made in china we 0we ourselves to china as it is.

Gripe, moan and complain. If you don't like Buggy Days stay home. There are those of us who enjoy this one weekend a year where we can see and catch up with people we don't get to see very often.
There may have been less vendors this year, however some were selling unique things. I loved the teak furniture. Couldn't afford it, but loved it nonetheless. There was also a lady on Market St. selling childrens holiday outfits that were cute, cute cute. I don't have small children, but if I did I would have bought a Christmas outfit. I blew my diet with a funnel cake and enjoyed every bite. So for me, Buggy Days was a nice diversion from the same old weekends in Barnesville.

I had a great time and I can't wait till next year. If you don't enjoy Buggy Days anymore than stay at home or take a weekend trip somewhere, its that simple.
I also want to thank all the people who make Buggy Days happen year after year. Great Job!

Buggy Days was great. A little too hot but better than rain. Thanks to all that put on the show. My favorite was the new crafters and all the stuff to choose from. Next year maybe get some water around town and stop people from asking for donations on every corner. But it was still one of the best!

Who hired that band Triple Threat? Worse band I've ever heard.If that's the kind of music for next year I'll stay home and listen to real music. Other than that Buggy Days was great as always.

Your boy TJ the DJ from I understand hired the bands . Word is they had some other GOOD bands but didnt want to pay them any money ....o well
