Barnesville does Halloween up bigger than most towns with huge crowds descending on the Thomaston Street corridor for trick-or-treating.

halloween is just a day for kids to dress up as monsters to go out into the community and scare people out of candy.

just meant for fun for the kids.... the devil has nothing to do with it. you must have lived a sheltered life as a child.

i thoroughly enjoy taking the kids trick or treating on thomaston street... i also got the opportunity to distribute candy last year and had a blast...

Ha! Thomaston St has become a joke! It is nothing like it used to be in the 90's! I mean people used to go all out now you're lucky if you get a few blow up monster on the lawn! And lets not get started on the old jail museum it used to be really scary now its just funny!

Well, since you are complaining about Thomaston St. I hope you will not go there for treats this year. If you do go, then you are a huge hypocrite.

No, I most def. will not be trick or treating on Thomaston St. Along with my nieces and nephews, I will be in Griffin near the Old Country Club now those houses thats trick or treating done the right way! Btw, you can't argue the fact that Thomaston St hasn't gone down hill since the 90's. Also, if you would have read my comment correctly you would know that I not once complained about the "treats" I complained about the decorations!

They should charge admission to go down Thomaston St. and divide it among the residents to help pay for candy. I don't take my children down Thomaston St anymore due to the large crowds. The kids complain about getting crappy candy. I could not afford to buy candy for hundreds of kids.

I hope all you get is tootsie rolls this year.

Remember the years with needles and razor blades in the candy???

its creeps like you that we teach our kids to stay away from and why we check the candy first thats just wrong for you to say i do remember those years and it was a terrible thing.

in all my years of going TorT and taking my kids I have never gotten anything nasty like that...always looked for it just in case but never saw it...nor did any of my friends that I know of...

I love trick or treating on Tomaston Street. No i think it would be a HORRIBLE idea to charge addmisions. People would lose trick or treaters because some people dont have the money to pay. People do it for fun. It would totally ruin Halloween for all of us. Thank you too all the peeps on Thomaston Street that supply candy yall make my Halloween.

Here's a thought, for those moms that can, bring sealed bags of candy to hand "back" to some of the homeowners when your child goes to the door... it would greatly help them out

To everyone who lives on thomaston st THANK YOU for giving all the kids in lamar co. a safe place to trick or treat. my kids really enjoy it. i have friends who have came from griffin just to join us and now they live here also and they love barnesville and even though its not a perfect town its still home.

we went to the pike county fall fest. it was really nice alot of free things for kids to do and alot of candy for them to munch on:) Does anyone know a good place in griffin to go??
