Jimmy Carter's utterly stunning conceit -- saying he's "superior" to other ex-presidents for his humanitarian efforts -- isn't the most telling of his recent remarks.

They'll get the most attention, of course, for their unbridled arrogance and scented air of superiority.

The writer of this article can go to hell. Carter is a great man and is most the best ex-president ever. I guess they this writer just wanted to try and rebuke the wonderful 60 minuets special on him. Carter was the first to warn us of our over indulgence. And for all you fiscal right wingers there was no national debt under Carter. Reagan on the other threw money at all of our problems and basically all he bought was a big band aid.

I don't know how old you are, but if you are old enough to know what was going on during his presidency and still feel this way about him there is no hope for you. Comparing himself to Lyndon Johnson says a lot. In my lifetime, Carter was the worst with Johnson coming in a close second. I hope Obama doesn't take the title away from him, but there is a strong possibility. Just like Carter, I knew he wouldn't be much of a president except to his own special interest groups.

You must not have been coherant during his (one) term.

Carter was a disaster then, and still is now. You liberals (or "progressives") are killing America, and suffocating us with all your do-gooder infiltration in our daily lives.

I look so forward to the upcoming elections. I seriously doubt most folks will make the same mistake again.

If you really believe what you’re writing why didn't you use your name? The only agenda he had when he took office was to destroy and or discredit the country to a point that it would never recover. He would have succeeded had a true patriot not been elected to replace him. He failed at everything he touched, from the economy to the Hostage crises in Iran. He should never have been allowed off the farm. Old age has had a truly negative impact on his memory.

carter what a complete joke.anybody who lived through his sorry presidency knows he was nothing but a failure.double digit inflation,high gas prices ,it goes on and on.and then he goes around visiting forgien countries that are run by criminals.

Carter WAS the worst president in US history, until obama came along. Now I guess he is basking in his new uprising gained by default.

Carter needs to shut up, his alzheimers based rants aren't even amusing anymore. He does not present any views that are consistient with any majority of people, yet the national news media seems to hang on his every word and reprint it as truth from above.

Just another reason the news media isn't doing so well lately.

Carter got screwed over by the GOP like every other president from the Democratic party. People think its weak to do the right thing and admitt the short comings of our nation but in reality it takes a much stronger man to do so. The writer of this smear can kiss my grits.

You're kidding right? Tell that to the Iranian hostages that Mr. Carter was such a humanitarian that he left them. But when Regan became Pres they were released. Reagan said it and it is proven "When we fail to remember we are one nation under God we will become one nation gone under". Liberals hate Regan which only proves they hate a backbone!

If we had stayed out of Iran to begin with, there would be no hostages. We had no business overthrowing an elected official just because he did not play the oil game as well as the West wanted.

I wonder why the media gives Jimmy Carter a minute of their time. I guess they believe it sells papers. I feel Jimmy is someone who has spent his life badmouthing the USA, and yet alot of people think he is right. I am sorry, I dont tell my neighbors about my family disagreements, it is not their business. Unfortunately Mr. Carter sees it another way. To me he is an embarassment to anyone from Georgia who is loyal to our nation.

I wasnt referring to the Carter Family, that is a discussion by itself. I was referring to Family being us citizens of the USA. he is always badmouthing the USA to other countries. Our arguments are amoung ourselves, not for other countries to be a part of. Mr. Carter thinks he should involve other countries. I think that is alot of bull. Sorry you couldnt understand that.

The reason he gets time with most media outlets in because most forms of media are controlled by liberal interests. ABC, CBS and NBC are all very liberal; I think the only conservative news outlet is FOX.

The only reason Jimmy Carter was elected President is because Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon and he was kicked out of office for doing it!!!

Without this, we would have never put the country through this disaster!!
