The 150th anniversary of the Civil War begins in 2011, and already there has been criticism by some that Georgia is “a day late and a dollar short” when it comes to promoting it. The fact is, in the midst of a fiscal crisis, the state is making wise and timely use of limited funding to develop a unique CW150 program that will draw visitors from around the world to Georgia.

on with our lives today. It will make America better for it....
Thank goodness we don't have to experience it in real life.
I quickly encountered a broad perspective of opinions on this war. Just by the multitude of different names for this war should tell you the abundance of different of views. What infuriates me so is the failure of humanity so that 618,000 or more Americans had to die before we as a nation learned the lessons that today seem so obvious to us all. Am I proud of my kin that they stood up for home and country? Yes, Am I going to celebrate the history where this country was led down a path of unimaginable pain and carnage that has lasted until even the present generation………no. We should heal our wounds, imprint the lessons learned, forgive, then move on to things in life that are far more productive and joyful.
