Oh I know where Opportunity Blvd. and Career Dr. is. Isn't that down the road from Prison Way? Seems most of the Lamar teenagers these days get turned around at Prison Way, or that dead end thats on the other side of the street.
Not true....I agree that there are those who choose to stay in Lamar Country and lack the ambition to get a head. Many of these will fall victum to the type of thinking that could get them in trouble with the law. For the most part,Lamar County teens will do well in life.
Well instead of sitting around talking down on these teenagers, shut your mouth and get up and do something about it, to help prevent this from happening.
Na, would rather just sit around. It's a waste of time to try and do something productive in this town. It just gets shot down by the big heads if it clashes with anything they have going on on the side. So I'll just continue making snide remarks here on this blog.
Teenagers turn to bad because of the lack of activities to in Barnesville. They get bored and turn to crime. I'm a teen i know. Its really hard to have fun in this city.
I wish I understood how a career fair could bring out negativity! All of you who are reading this, it is time for those of us who have positive thoughts about LC and what is going on here to speak up!! 2 of my children graduated from LC and are very successful and productive citizens! There is nowhere that is perfect, but we have so much more to offer than many places
Let's look at some successful Lamar County Graduates: Virginia Carter, Ryran & Jessica Traylor, Ryan Christopher, Frerra Fambro, Michael Watson, Joel Fuller, Aaron Buice, Paula Buice, Kelsey Harris....Others can help me with my list! These are not exceptions to the rule! There is much to be proud of here in Lamar County!
This is what goes on in Lamar county now. This is what is gonna run the good people out. This is your future of lamar county. They are not a minority anymore. Who is gonna hire people that act like this?

OK...I looked at it. I have been here in LC for over 30 years and have never heard of this. I was proud of those who refused to say th word and know for a fact that many blacks who live in Barnesville would never say the word. This is not where they coming to but where they are coming from (they said they had been doing it for years). Hopefully, since 2007 things have changed. If not, it is sad.
And remember, there are many graduates of LC who then took their "show" on the road and became successful outside of Lamar Co. and Georgia.
I have lived in several states around this great country and I think Lamar county is a lovely place. Every place you go, that place becomes what YOU make of it. If you trail misery and negativity along behind you, I doubt you will find sunshine and roses anywhere you go.
Lamar County DID NOT set up this career fair properly. There are many students that didn't even get to attend including me, while there was several others who got to go 2 & 3 times. Lamar do a better job of setting this up next time. That schedule that you guys set up was just crappy.
