The number of students attending Gordon College increased again this year, the state college’s 10th straight year of growth.

Tell you what dumb*** take Gordon out of Barnesville and see which way our town goes at a high rate of speed. Some people don't need to have access to a computer.

You should if you live in this community Because Gordon has a positive economic impact on Barnesville and Lamar County. Gordon is an employer for many people in this community. The students who go there spend money here in our community.

5009 students to uncoordinated to push the button to activate the red light on College Drive.
If that were a requirement for admission, the mascot would be a tumble weed.

Why is it that people in some communities appear to resent others wanting to better themselves? Gordon College is a remarkable asset to the community, and it supports a wide variety of economic and cultural benefits. It has a deep history, and it is constantly improving. It is a place where people can pull themselves up by their bootstraps, and in this largely Republican area, I would think that aspect of it would appeal to folks.

what % actually graduate ? who many are going on the hope program ? of those how many are attending only because their teachers trumped up their grades ?

what difference does it make on % what school did you graduate from. Like anything else in life and any other College some succeed some fail its apart of life.

we do applaud people that pull themselves up by their bootstraps. however the vast majority of the students at gordon are living off the government titt.we the taxpayers are paying for them to go to school and live it up smoking the weed and going to the crows nest on thrsday night. the majority of employees at gordon college do not live in lamar co. if you dont believe me, check the car tags in the faculty parking lot. alot of crime has been brought into lamar co. from the wave of new students in the last 5 years. i applaude the students that are going on hope, because they have to maintain grades, however most of the new student are taking remedial courses and on other financial aide. most of them will last a year then they can pack a new bunch in the dorms. yes there is an economic impact in barnesville from all this-- the sale of rolling papers and blunts and newports have gone up .

I am proud to be a graduate of Gordon College. It is a great place to go and start you post secondary education. I know there are students there that cause trouble and make the whole school look bad, but that's not the majority of students there. Too bad most people tend to focus on the negative.

Gordon is improving and growing as a college. There will be some bumps in the road, but the positive effect of Gordon on the community outweighs the negative that comes along with it.

YES IF ITS SO GREAT FOR THE COMMUNITY , WHY DONT WE ASK THE GOOD PEOPLE OF PIKE COUNTY IF THEY WOULD LIKE US TO MOVE GORDON AND ALL THESE FINE STUDENTS OVER TO ZEBULON, AND PIKE COUNTY COULD PROSPER FROM ALL THE CULTURAL AND ECONOMIC BENEFITS.

Honey, Pike County has Teen Challenge and their incumbent (minus Tommy) Commissioners. They don't need anymore convicts and crooks.

Next year 5,700 students. and 6,200 students in 2012.
