well there you go. What does that tell you? The property tax in Lamar county is way high. Who can afford to live here? Our taxes went up $500 for what? Look at our county roads trash everywhere, roads need repairing, but what does lamar county do? not a @@@@ thing just raise our taxes. So if the taxes weren't to high maybe somebody could live in this town.
That is very depressing news. Especially at the beginning of the holiday season. I pray for those families! It could be any of us if we were to lose our jobs.
Yep, there you go. Folks don't have any claim to private property. The government owns it all. People just lease it. Don't pay the lease fee that they, the goverment have pre-determined without your consent, you need to get off. Ahhhhh...land of the free...
What would you exspect. Folks don't live forever but the land pretty much will way be there. If it were any other way no one else could be a land-ower except those who have already purchased it all. The game is monopoly in which unlike the board game no one can win it all or the game would be over. The problem is that in the present economical crisis the game is already almost over.
Conglomerates are the winner.
With the job market the way it is (unemployment 14%), the retired folk with cd's paying 1 to 2%,the employed with wages flat for the last decade and let's not forget the CPI going up on average of 3% yearly, folks cann't pay their taxes even if they were reasonablly set. Times ain't good.
I've often wondered this. If someone buys a tax sell property are they also responsible for leins on the property? What if they buy a bank forclosed property--responsible for back taxes or any other leins?
By paying the taxes you are actually putting a lein on the property in which the owner must pay you with an additional interest rate. After a period of time you can opt to purchase.
It's actually a great way to get interest on your money at a much higher rate of return than from local institutions.
At least we've got a great new stadium and Fine Arts building. Ooh, and that new county building on 36. Maybe the homeless of Barnesville can pitch tents on the football field.
as screwed up as this local administration is, do you really think there was a seperate account or it was all in one account and dispursed where it is needed. Seems they do this will all the other areas of the county. Ex: any money generated by the rec dept goes into a general fund. It does not stay within the rec dept.

Do you homework before you show your ingnorance!
