There is no bad gift. Anyone that degrades someone's gift to them didn't deserve it in the first place. Apparently they put material items above anything else. A true gift comes from the heart. Some people may be able to give more material goods as a gift, but those material goods cannot even remotely compare to a gift that is given from the heart. A person that feels sad because they couldn’t afford a material gift has to be the absolute worst gift. Not the material gift but the sadness in the person that gave it. Christmas is a time for joy and happiness. My most favorite gift in the world is seeing and feeling the joy and happiness of others and the worst is feeling another’s sadness. Celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, pray for the world, be kind to each other, and encourage others to be happy without worrying about the commercialism of a joyous holiday.
I don't have anything in the worst gift category, but I have a friend whose Mother-in-law gave him an asparagus peeler she picked up at a yard sale. He and his wife didn't even know what it was and had to ask the gifter.
We still joke about that gift nearly a decade later.
Get it right Walter.
Merry Christmas! It's what the Majority of us Americans love and cherish. Love it or leave it.
