You can collect and extrapolate data to prove just about anything and the global warming freaks do just that to support their views and radical opinions.

The Constitution says, "promote the general Welfare". It does not say provide welfare. Charity begins at home. People should support their Churches and people should receive any help they need from their Church. Unfortunately, government extracts so much from the people that the people are limited on the funds they can give.
Until government can reel in their spending and actually provide what the people pay for; we will continue to go down hill.
Take social security for example. Social security is not a government handout. People pay in to it all their working lives. It is funds for the years beyond employment. Now government has spent the people’s money and now tries and convinces the people it is going broke. It was fully self sufficient until government stuck their hands in the pot. Government must be held accountable for irresponsible actions. One way is for all lawmaker benefits be cancelled until the robbery of the people has received full restitution. Lawmakers should be required to live under the same provisions provided to the people that they established: Not one way for the masses and another way for the power elite.
Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged takes this idea to an extreme: the productive people disappear, and the economy collapses. Still, I think many productive people still exist. Yes, I do see people with a "fair weather" attitude toward work, but I think it is because experience has taught them that they do not need to struggle to have anything. Some people will do the minimum no matter what.
I am not sure people are any different from the way they have always been. Some people just do not care to work hard, and some people do. Taking pride in one's work--whatever it is--comes from a feeling of self-respect.
One quality that really makes people stand out is getting things done well and on time without any excuses. (Contractors take note.)
Well Walter it is apparent to me that you sensor comments that truly express the attitude of the working class. You did not post my opinion because I voiced my opinion. What did you think it hit to close to home for a lot of the lazy people who take welfare as a way of life.
I have lived up North for years at a time. The only difference when it comes to snow and Ice down in GA- WE DON'T HAVE THE EQUIPMENT to see about the roads! Most roads were very dangerous on that first and second day of the storm. If you were foolish enough to get out then that was on you. GOSH OPEN YOUR EYES WALTER!
I want to set the record straight on the mail delivery during the recent snow/ice event. It is true that the local carriers/sorters and retail window personnel did report to work as usual, and we were willing to delver what mail we received from the plants. The delvery trucks that transport the mail, some being tractor trailers, were not allowed by the State Patrol to travel on Georgia highways due to the danger it would be to not only the truck drivers, but also to the other drivers that may be on the icy roads. Although the mail was delayed, I think the correct decision was made to protect lives. Common sense still goes along way.
Neither snow, sleet, hail, or rain storm no one can stop the delivery of mail but that saying isnt true anymore. If people can get out in the bad weather just to be doing something then the mailperson should have been doing his or her job.
Until government can reel in their spending and actually provide what the people pay for; we will continue to go down hill.

"You can collect and extrapolate data to prove just about anything..."
Sometimes one must look beyond the nose on their face, or in this case, beyond their the bedroom window.

But I did need to get a package out and I was thankful for my local post office.
Why don't you write an editorial about the GDOT and not the postal service?
By the way, the GDOT organizational chart lists the top spot as "The People," right below that is the State Governor and General Assembly.
