A Lamar County sheriff's deputy answering a domestic dispute call at 176 Steele Road Tuesday afternoon shot and killed a man who confronted him with a shotgun.

the swat team was NEVER needed! Brian never fired r aimed..while the law enforcement thought brian was hold up in the house while actually he was n there bleeding to death!! Get trhe facts straight before you anon. comment and tyvm for the prayers on here.God bless you all!!
Let me get this straight.....the deputy is called out for a domestic dispute. He arrives on the scene and Brian picks up a gun. We should remember that this deputy must know the history of Brian. Brian obviously didnt put the gun down. Was Brian drunk? I will assume he was based on other post here. Deputy Webster had to make a split second decision and he had every right to shoot Brian to protect his own life. Now, after being shot, I assume Brian went back in the house? At this time, did the deputy know the extent of Brians injuries? Doubtful. The only thing he knew was that there was an armed man in the house. Sounds like law enforcement did their jobs and took the necessary precautions to protect themselves. Their safety is a priority too. It would have been pretty screwed up, if Brian had been alive and started shooting at them thru the windows or something.
By the way, whom ever made the comment about "why didnt they just shoot him in the leg" is an idiot. Do you think a leg wound would have stopped Brian from shooting back? I would like to see someone point a gun at you and see what your reaction would be. If that ever happens, I hope you dont sit back and wait to see if your gonna get shot first.
It was only a matter of time for this man to get a dose of his own medicine. He should have been dealt with years ago.He shot at a friend of mine in one incident, and my own daughter in another incident. Each time they were across the lake and not on his property. He has a history at shooting at people. The sheriff would not deal with him in the past,it finally cost him his life.
Greg, so sorry for your loss but you are totally clueless or maybe just grieving. How can you honestly think that Brian did nothing. With that being said, what in the world would make you think that Brian never aimed or fired his gun. From everything we are hearing, the evidence was found to prove that he did, in fact, fire his gun, and more than once too. The SWAT team was definitely needed because at that given time noone knew which way this was headed and with Brian's given history you certainly can't blame anyone for that. If Webster had not fired a shot that would later be known as the fatal shot, Brian would have came back out of the house fully loaded and firing. According to the reports, unfortunately, he did bleed to death but who in their right mind would go back into that house looking for him to check on him without back up help and assistance? Just saying..... My question to you is, were you in that house to see what he was doing or to check on him? I will answer for you, no you were not. So please don't expect someone to do something that you would not do if the same situtation presented itself to you but different people involved other that your family member. Had he been allowed to kill someone else or do harm to others you would have said the SWAT team should have been called in for help or where are they when we need them. Can't have it both ways. Always remember, "we are the maker of our own evils" and because this is a small town and everybody knows everybody, Webster and the other law enforment officers had the advantage of knowing Brian's history. "Past Behavior is a perfect indicator of future behavior"! Job well done from our local law enforcement and all the back up that came to assist. The citizens of Lamar County will tell you guys this since your boss and our elected official doesn't have the guts to do it pubically because it might cost him a vote in the next election.
I am glad Chris is ok. This just shows what law enforcenent has to deal with daily and how fast something can turn bad. They never know what they are going to walk in to. Prayers going out to all involved.
For someone to make a joke out of this situation is totally ridiculous but it tells you a lot about the person that made the comment. Also applies to the comment about this one. Do they know what it says in the Bible about judging people???? If not, they might want to read it!!!!
omg you really are the biggest loser everytime i read any thing on here your making a stupid comment or sometimes even a good comment but mostly stupid. the point is do you do anything else?do you even get out of your bath robe? just wondering you can go back to your bon bons and sit around and wish you had friends now lol NOW EVERYONE POINT AT SHEILA AND LAUGH!!!!! and yes my grammer punctuation and spelling suck but i still have friends.here is an idea unplug your computer for 1 week i bet you find a whole new world out there heck you may even have some experiences of your on to comment on who knows stranger things have happened. just an idea
i AGREE WITH YOU CAUSE IT SAYS IN THE BIBLE, "JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED". UNTIL YOU GO THROUGH A SITUATION LIKE THIS, THEN YOU WILL NOT KNOW HOW TO REACT. ONLY THE ULTIMATE MAN IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN JUDGE US AND THAT IS GOD HIMSELF.
I knew you would finally throw it back on the Bible. Read the entire Bible verse.
You verse picking, Bible editing hypocrites are disgusting.
It may be the most often quoted and yet most misunderstood verse in the whole Bible. People who have never even cracked open a Bible have heard and quoted this verse. “Do not judge so that you will not be judged” Matthew 7:1
Usually that verse is used like a hammer to immediately stop any discussion about the rightness or wrongness of a persons behavior. Almost invariably if someone claims that a certain action or behavior is wrong, someone will say, “But Jesus said we are not to judge anyone”. The clear implication is that we can never say if some behavior is sin or not because we are not to judge. Sometimes these words are shouted out in anger and rage, “You can’t judge me!”.
What is possibly more amazing than the fact that so many people quote this verse and the concept of not judging, is that so many people could get the real meaning so completely wrong. This is especially true since the context makes it clear what Jesus meant by these words. When Jesus said that we should not judge unless we be judged also, he was not saying that we are to never judge if behavior is sin or not. What he was doing was giving us a caution to make sure that we are willing to be judged by the same standard of judgment. This verse is not a warning against judging an action. It is a warning against self deception and hypocrisy.
So Anonymous, when my rap sheet looks like the one of the fella who just committed 'suicide by cop'.........please feel free TO JUDGE MY ASS!
he wasnt a worthless bum he was my brother and you might wanna check out the whole story..if I made comments like that Id stay anonymous too...he had alot of problems and events that had happened to him THAT PROBLABLY EVEN A HEARTLESS AH LIKE YOU COULDNT HAVE HANDLED!!!

Ok I dont understand this! Who was in the house and why did it take so long to get them out is Brian was already dead? What was Webster hidin for? It states that Webster shot and kill Brian and the took cover in the home! If the man was already did Why did Webster take cover and Why did it take all day to get Webster out? PLEASE MAKE THIS MORE CLEAR SO WE WILL KNOW WHAT IS REALLY GOIN ON HERE! I heard that Brian was still alive?
Yes I agree , I was told that a friend of mine, Rachel...which is his or was his girlfriend, was the hostage and there is nothing mentioned about her!!! I would like to know how she is...
Just in reading your blog you wouldn't and/or couldn't understand it even if it were explained to you. It's not rocket science it is only common sense to know that if someone fired once at you and you returned fire you would automatically take cover until back up arrived not knowing if there was going to be another shot fired. Stay tuned in to the Herald Gazette as it continues to give us updated information as it becomes available!

it said that Webster shot and killin Brain... My thing is if he killed him to began with why was he hidin in the house? and if he didnt kill him to began with why it say he did? Thats what I dont get.
There are a lot ?'s
Shirriff Waller's statement said that Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Webster was confronted by Mr. Giddens, who was holding a shotgun. The response resulted in shots being fired by the deputy and the subsequent death of Brian Keith Giddens. Numerous law enforcement agencies responded to the incident location.
Did he point the gun at the officer?
Did he refuse to drop the weapon?
Why did numerous agencies respond if he was already deceased?
Did he have a hostage?
What was the timeline?
Did the officer get trigger happy?
Could he have backed off and let things settle down?
In response to "We the People" Number of shots? As many as he had to fire to stop the threat. Why more than 1 shot? This is real life, not TV. See the answer to your first question. As for "holding a shotgun" Should he have even had a shotgun in his hand when speaking to the officer? Was the officer supposed to think " ok, I'll let him shoot at me first before I shoot at him? That's not the way it works and that is not the law. The officer has the right to use a step above the amount of force being used against him. No where is it written that the suspect has to shoot at you before you shoot at him. No where is it written that they have to bring the gun up and point it at you before you can shoot them. Put yourself in the Deputies shoes. Let someone with the history that the suspect has have a shotgun in his hand and refuse to put it down and makes a motion to bring it up.Would "We the People" just stand there and let the suspect shoot him? Would "We the People" not defend himself with his own weapon? Is "We the People" even willing to put on a uniform and deal with what officers have to deal with? Do you realize that in a 24 hour period in January of 2011 14 Officers/Deputies were killed in the line of duty in the United States? No one is saying that Brian was a bad guy. He was a man with problems that in an instant made a poor decision and it cost him his life. The Deputy's actions in shooting were put in motion by the bad decision that Brian made. It is not the Deputy's fault, he was forced to do what he did bty Brian's actions.Just like many of you are saying "You don't know the problems Brian was having" Did any of you Brian lovers and friends try to help him? Did you speak to him? Comfort him? Console him? Where were you? The loss of a life in this way is tragic. In the end all Brian had to do was put the gun down. One simple motion, one simple response. What happened in that house on that day did not take hours or minutes, it only took seconds. No one who has posted on this site was standing there when it happened. All comments are based on rumor, speculation, lies, and half truths.Deputy Webster did the only thing he could do. All this "Why did he have to shoot him?" Why didn't he run?" Why didn't he take cover?" "Why didn't he shoot him in the leg?" crap is just that CRAP! Folks this is real life, not TV not movies. In real life it is impossible to do what actors do. They get chance after chance. That Deputy only had one chance and he made the right choice. So there.
his names george, known him for quite a while...hes kind of a racist but i dont hate the guy lol i hate this for his mom, shes a really sweet lady(most times) lol brian had been trouble for a while
The most underpaid groups of workers in the United States are street level law enforcement officers and our U.S. Military.
It is sad that the people who can and do "save our lives, assist when called and risk their own life EVERY day are paid such pitiful wages."
I am glad Deputy Webster is without physical injury.
Now, buckle your seat belts for a bumpy ride. Everyone in the world who has ever known Brian Keith Giddens or a name that is similar or rhymes with it, is loading right this minute for a blog shoot out. Bring it on.
Many thanks to you Deputy Webster and to all law enforcement who answered the call.
It is such a scary reminder, once again, I thank you Joe Buice and I thank God that you survived the shot that you took on behalf of "people like me."
The GBI is routinely called in to investigate oficer involved shooting incidents especially when the agency is small and has no internal affairs division of its own. Figured you'd know this since you seem to know everything else.
And, no where does the story say the GBI is rushing here. It merely states that they are en route. Or, in laymen's terms, they be on the way.

I was "totally" hopin' there was a Wise A**nonymous who would explain that to me.
"Hey, Geeby, Wake up. Mr. Other Charges has been shot and killed. The Boss said to move on it. They want to wrap this up before he WAKES UP. Don't worry about your belt man. This is important. He wants us there before the crime scene tape is put up."
This is all too bizarre. From past arrests in the past 11 months, it is plain to see Mr. Giddens was a man with serious issues that were not being addressed. The judicial process was simply a revolving door for Giddens which culminated into an absolutely final incident in which the door has slammed shut forever.
From the below arrests, one is to wonder WHY Giddens was not serving prison time (if convicted) due to the seriousness of his alleged crimes. Is anyone aware of the dispositions of the following arrests?
Just a check of the past 12 months HG SHERIFF'S REPORT reveals:

I love you and you know that...but let me tell you this..."you are getting a little too big for your britches when you start beating this nosy bitch to the draw."
I am going to bed now, as they have called "lights out" here at The Elderly Estates nursing home, you never go by the rules so you don't care.
You have until daylight to slow down a little or I will ask "the little lady there" to cut back on your elderly tonic.
"SHUT UP, YOU GROCHEDY OLD COOT. I HEARD YOU SAY 'LIGHTS OUT' I AM SHUTTING DOWN MY COMPUTER. YOU NEED TO GO TAKE CALL'S ELDERLY TONIC AWAY, THE OLD MAN IS GETTING IN MY BUSINESS."
AND ONE MORE THANG. YOU WORRIED ABOUT LIGHTS OUT WHEN 'CALL' IS OUT THERE ROAMING LOOSE ON LIBERTY HILL........I'M MOVING OUT OF HERE........BRANG ME MY WALKER!
I am actually about half-baked. I wanted to finish myself off with 'suicide by cop' so it would be painless and I could go out as a shero and really good person. But when I called, all the GOOD cops were somewhere on Steele Road. So I tried crawling in the oven but I could only get about 50% of my fat ass in there. AND I got a REALLY BIG oven.
So here I am. Old half baked Sheila. With no notoriety and no one to tell how wonderful I am and to send me on to Heaven.
Just me and Clyde Barrow.
It is lonely at the bottom.
The arrests were posted on this site on Tuesdays (the day the paper comes out in print). He wasn't necessarily arrested or didn't committ the alleged crimes on Tuesdays.
WOW! What a rap sheet. I am sure that he was bailed out every time by his mom instead of having to sit there in jail and pay the price for what he had done. There is no reason something was not done prior to this incident but I can bet you everything that when all is said and done it will not be Brian's fault. I'm sure that even though Brian fired the first shot it will still be blamed on the Deputy that fired the fatal shot. Accountability looks to be part of the problem and just sit back and watch and if your a betting person you better put money on it now, momma will blame everybody except her son.
Hell yeah. The person who called the law to Mr. Other Charges will have a lawsuit against the county before the crime scene tape is removed.

What Judicial System
on
02/09/11 at 08:07 AM
As I have said before in the past, this is a good example of what our judges do on the bench. All they do is keep slapping people like this on the wrist and then in turns out really bad later down the road. Nip it in the bud judges! You will have less crime if people are punished like they should be! We have enough crime in Barnesville. It's time to start getting a pair and clean it up!
So Im assuming you are a crime free person...never been speedin...never jaywalked...never (Borrowed) stolen a pencil and never returned it r are you just talking about the ones you havent committed??
Thankful that the law enforcement agency men/women are ok..but... I am also saddened for Brian's family and himself...I am praying for all..Some of the comments that are even allowed to be posted are so cruel and nasty...everyone has a family and it could be anyones family. So we all should be careful with our words.
AMEN!!! It's ridiculous how people talk after stuff like this happens. I would never wish this kinda stuff on anyone. Have a little respect!! This man has 2 KIDS!!! Pray for them!
Walter...before I wake up I trust that you will have posted one or twenty blogs that contain these phrases and lingo:
judge not, the bible sez that you should not judge god is the only won that can judgeand he wil 4giv brian cause he was goodin the inside georg iz my frend 2 thay hav benmy frendsince wheni wuzborn andidon'care whut non of you sayout there cause yall need to qit judgn b cuzthe biblesays you shud luv evrybod and u r goin to hell when you dy caus god isthe ony 1 thet can juge..........i mite cant type but i went to colage u r goin to hel.......and i ant took no mony from nobody an i dont car whut u say caus you need to git a life ...yo (etc.)
This is coming from a personal friend and Deputy in Florida that is glad to see the GOOD GUYS walking away. We have had way too much killing period.... And have lost WAY too many good people in law enforcement. Florida has taken a major hit it seems. I have spent time with Chris and his family and I am glad to see him okay. My thoughts are with him and his family. It is about time we look at society and try to figure out when it became acceptable and so easy to take on law enforcement. And in tune with comment #14.... We do the job others either choose not to do or simply CAN NOT do. We appreciate the support. We do this job because we love it. The job chose most of us.... Hopefully GA will not do what FL is trying and virtually take away the retirement benefits that we sacrifice now in pay to retire with later. God Bless Chris and his co-workers and all law enforcement everywhere.
in response to the comment being made that his family did not raise him right....as WE all raise our children to the best of our ability, their life does not turn out the way we pray it would. i am a preachers daughter and raised my children in church , teaching them biblical morals and values and they still went in their own directions, doing things that they were never taught or heard, so before you made that comment you maybe should have put a little more thought into it, you give law enforcement a bad name by saying that type of statement... when we teach our children to respect law enforcement...and to view them as role models...my brother in law is a retired investigator with the police department and my aunt is a retired police chief...so i have seen both sides....i pray the you come home safe to your family every night....
See comment #15. Then come back and tell us about "family pity." We always have people who get upset about blogs. We are cruel and nasty. CNA certainly does not have a communication problem. BUT, let me summarize just the last 12 itty bitty months for you.
obstruction of an officer, family violence, battery and criminal interference with government property, terroristic threats and acts, reckless conduct, carrying a concealed weapon, obstruction, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission or attempt to commit a crime and OTHER CHARGES, driving while license suspended or revoked and OTHER CHARGES, open container and disorderly conduct,
simple battery.
The officials finally just put AND OTHER CHARGES.
You are sorry for Brian. Well, pray for him, honey.
AND then, grapefruit for brains, at #9 wants to know why Deputy Webster took cover?
I guess he was expecting a "BIG OLD GROUP HUG" and he was just not in a mood for socializing.
You will never change peoples mind on these types of topics. Yes I feel bad for the suspects family. Especially if his family raised him right. I do not know if they did but I am guessing not. Cops are used to being hated. Nobody sees a cop for anything good and the only time we are heros to the less abiding citizens is when they need us. Either way it is the thanx from the good citizen that keeps our drive to go into these dangerous situations over and over again. There will always be another drug dealer or criminal type to step up and replace the one just taken off the street. The tragedy is there is not enough people that are able to do what we do day in and day out. Again I am glad to see the good guys on top and unharmed.
We all need to be very very careful with our accusations as well as our words!! Brian had been through alot in the past several years due to a very nasty divorce, He happened to have an alcohol problem that was fueled by continuing issues with coming to terms with all of this. He had been clean and sober for six months and when he returned to Barnesville all of his hurt was thrown back in his face again. Yes he had a problem dealing with it but he was not a thug roaming the street looking to hurt anyone!!
As far as the charges he was facing in court you need to find out the truthful facts and incidents that led to the particular charges being filed! ( If you are arguing with someone on the phone and you tell them you want to beat their ass what are you charged with?? Terroristic Threats). Also He knew many of these officers personally not just as a Deputy.
It is my understanding that He is the one that called 911 today because a female "friend" was causing problems in the home. Like I said the truth will be told before all of this is over.
Brian had a heart of gold, He loved his children and his family, He had made amends to those he hurt in the past and He wanted more than anything to beat his alcohol problem. To overcome all of the obstacles he has faced for so long and begin to rebuild his life. He never one time blamed anyone but himself for the trouble he had been in and freely admitted he needed to rid himself of those "friends" that continued to fuel his problems.
I make no excuses for him or accusations directed at anyone else for the events that transpired today but I do ask everyone to remember that he was loved, he was someone's son, brother, father and close friend who was trying his best to fight his demons the best he could.
It is so repetitive. But I am sure you feel better standing up for this fella who had problems.
Let's take his problems a 'baby step' further. If he had squeezed the first bullet out Deputy Webster could be severely injured like Joe Buice. One more 'baby step' and it would be "another funeral for an underpaid law officer" called to duty by a mentally impaired, court frequented, out of control, shotgun brandishing man (?) who should probably still be in jail anyway.
Maybe I am being unfair. You seem to have your ducks in a row. The wrong row, but a row...none the less.
Answer this for me and I will possibly make no more comments on this blog. How much time did Keith spend locked up for just the charges shown above?
We will not even 'play like' the law was involved every time they should have been, because WE know better than that, DON'T WE?
you gotta alot of ifs! well ifs didnt happen...I dont know who you r but just because its bloged on here doesnt mean its true..did you bother to check and see how many of those charges were dropped r how he spent several weeks n rehab and counseling tryn to deal with it!! no you didnt!!
that is a good try....in retrospect........But we cannot un-obstruct an officer, reverse family violence, un-battery and de-criminal interference with government property, un-terrorist terroristic threats and acts, un-reckless conduct, dis-carrying a concealed weapon, un-obstruct obstruction, re-possess possesion of a firearm or knife during the commission or attempt to commit a crime and void-OTHER CHARGES, re-drive while license are suspended or revoked and OTHER CHARGES, close already opened containers and make orderly of disorderly conduct, and we cannot simplify..
simple battery.
I had a dear family member that checked into Charter Lake Hospital every time the law got too close to him. I loved him then and I love him now........but he could not unring bells and un-make memories either.
Neither can I. It is almost impossible to put a cat back in a bag. I got some scratches of my own to prove it.
Besides all his issues he may have had. The point is you bring a any gun not just a shotgun out in front of me or any other officer..... You are prepared to take my life no matter what mind set you are in.... With that my friend I have prepared and would have no choice but to take yours. Divorce? Really? Look up stats on highest divorce rate and it is cops. We don't threaten others with weapons and cause violence. And Demons? Since when does a demon wear a uniform and a badge and identify themselves as the Police.
Many people go through broken marriages and nasty divorces without lapsing into violent anti- social behavior while tallying multiple arrests. Take our sweet Sheila Tolley, with her multiple divorce history, she could have gone postal and shot up several men's clubs and a few ex-husbands in retalitation for the divorces. But, I know she didn't resort to any unlawful or immoral actions because her name can't be found on the Tuesday HG Sheriff's Report....YET!...That tough ol' girl walks a straight line everyday.
I am not the person that sent the post about their cousin but I can see where reading all this TRASH and typing a comment it would be easy to make a mistake. Plus if you have read other post you would see people that are not even related have made typing errors. Even making a comment like that tells you something about that person. The person replying to that comment should of been smart enough to realize it was a typing error but wait by reading the post it shows that most people are on here for fun especially the ones that post their name want attention. It is really sad that people would use a circumstance like this for their own thrills. I doubt very seriously that the person that commented on the spelling has never made a mistake typing. Ha ha! And the name posted saved by faith. That must be a joke! Even if not I would be ashamed to put that after my comment. Come on people there are several issues. If you were not there, do you REALLY know what happen??? Having an opinion about the situation is one thing but to make comments making fun of something so serious is not caring about the rest of the family and what they are experiencing. I use to say I was from there but after reading these post I am ashamed to say I ever lived there.
He never had a hostage. I thank you Chris and Griffin swat for all y'all do. I had family to go in the doors after him and that's a scary feeling not knowing what they might run into. I'm praying for the family and Chris. Again, Chris and other officers thanks for all you all do to protect each and everyone of us.

I am impressed with Deputy Webster and the interstate guys, they don't play. Thanks for all you guys do. I hope this is a message for all the gun toting thugs. Those boys don't play!
where is all the lamar county deputies i see a lot of griffin police to assist where is our great law enforcement when they are needed must be at lunch or getting their hair done like i saw last week on duty. good job chris and hope you are ok
Shame on you people. You don't even know this man. You don't know the father, the son, the brother or the uncle or anything about the life he led. Where is the compassion for the family who lost a loved one? You see his mistakes printed in black and white and you think that defines a person? Will your mistakes outweight the good you did in your lives? Well, you've all made mistakes in your lives. I only pray that when your time comes, your families are shown more compassion for the live you led (mistakes sins and all) than Brian's family is being shown by these remarks. The heartless remarks made on this website are disgraceful to anyone.
As I said before I feel for you and your family. Even Officer's know that when we are forced to take a life to save our own or another that we are taking a loved one away from others. I understand he had problems going on. However, when he brought out the gun he hit a point of no return. I know Chris and I am sure he did all he could to have it not end up this way. No matter what people think we do not leave the house in hopes of having to use our weapons. The last thing any of us want is to have to take the life of another. Again,I am sure everyone feels your pain and has you in their thoughts. You did not do this. Chris I am sure had no other options either. Let the blame rest with your uncle. When a life is lost it is always a tragedy. Families normally place blame on law enforcement for doing what we have to do. If you only knew how many times we are justified but refrain from taking an immediate action with hopes of better results. I am comfortable that all options were exhausted prior to the fatal outcome.
Cops were called cause he was being a jackass and when they arrived he held a gun. DUH..he was a right up perfect citizen. Be glad it wasn't your butt he was going to hold hostage or shoot. The family should have gotten him in rehab or mental hospital before this happened. Don't blame the public for voicing our opinion when it could of been one of our familt members that he could of killed. Now think about that in your dreams. Do not argue back cause I know how I feel. Glad no innocent ones were hurt

I hope Dep. Webster is going to be ok. Taking a life, even to save your own and in the line of duty is never easy. I'm thinking of you and your wife Deputy,
As for Mr. Giddens, my condolences to his family. This is the worst possible outcome for this situation.
We can sit here all day behind our keyboards and rant and blame and tell others to "grow up" and "get a life" but the fact is that many lives have been affected thru the years by Mr. Giddens' choices. I'm pretty sure when his mama & daddy held him in their arms as an infant, this was not the future they had in mind for him.
This is a sad story, no matter which side you take.
I'm glad our county has a good relationship with other local law enforcement agenceys, so that we can call them for assistance when something like this happens. Thank you, Griffin Swat Team.
I'll ask again since I still have not read or heard anything about Brian's girlfriend....who was there when all this took place. I heard that she was shot, held hostage??? I was friends with her and Brian at one time. Believe it or not he was a good person , he turned into someone totally different when he drank... God bless his soul! I just really need to know how Rachel is..... Can anyone tell me anything about her?
IM PRAYING FOR BRIANS FAMILY.BRIAN WAS A GOOD MAN.ATLEAST HE IS WITH HIS FATHER VERNON IN HEAVEN.I KNOW HE WILL BE MISSED ELENOR.ALL OF HIS NEW LIFE FAMILY WILL BE PRAYING FOR HIS FAMILY.AND FOR ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE THAT ARE BAD MOUTHING THIS MAN YOU DONT KNOW HIM.SO KEEP YOUR COMMENTS TO YOURSELF.THE WORLD HAS LOST A GOOD MAN TODAY.I HOPE ALL OF YOU QUICK TO PASS JUDGMENT WILL ANSWER FOR IT ONE DAY.
I will never understand why one side gets so ticked at the other side for having opinions? If we do not know him, our opinion is totally irrelevant, isn't it?
Look at poor obama. He is so hated. I have never met the dude but I do not like his public record. Can I not have my opinion in America without being bashed by you good people on the other side of the fence?
You are absolutely right, I do not know the dead dude. I could get on here and say I am so sorry it happened, he is in Heaven, etc. BUT honestly, I really do not care about him. To say different would make me a hypocrite.
If his mother and dad are alive, my sympathy goes to them. A parent should never have to go to the funeral of her children. My gratitude goes to Deputy Webster and all the other UNDERPAID law officers who risked their LIFE, as did Joe Buice.
If you feel a need to be pissed off at someone..be pissed off at the person who caused this tragedy. Back up..look at the facts...who is that person?
Put that list you have of "who knows him" on this blog so we will know who has permission to blog, will you?
And before you ask the age old question, what if it was my son?
IT isn't. If it was there are a whole lot of people that would be consoling me.....but they all know that I would never see it on a blog that involves someone who I love. It is called self-control or as in gone with the wind, "frankly my dear, I would not give a damn" about anyone else's opinion enough to read the ridiculous blogs such as mine.
At approximately 9:15 a.m. on May 23, Clyde Barrow was killed. The lawmen opened fire, killing Barrow while shooting a combined total of approximately 130 rounds.
Isn't that sad. Those old mean lawmen. Oh you don't care? Why the hell not?
Bless your heart. I pitty you for being so cold and heartless. May God bless you because people like you who think they know it all but really know squat... but voice their opinon anyway... people who are so small minded and self righteous make me literally sick. You're whats wrong with Freedom of Speech because you don't know how to use it. Maybe one day you'll learn the art of shutting your mouth while you're ahead. Or, perhaps God will grant you the ability to feel for others... or at least think on terms other than those that when you voice them don't make you sound like a real narrow minded, backwoods, southern hick. Have a great day.
If I could only count the times that sweet people, such as you, have offered me a life. It is such a generous offer. Can you list the available options that your life will offer? They had some on display at a yard sale yesterday, but they would not offer an extended warranty. I left my last one on an airplane a month ago but was able to win the bid on ebay to get it back a while later. Ah shoot. I deserve a new one anyway. I worked my old life away......will you accept obamacare? NO. Well maybe you are worth a second look.
I met up with three 'cats' yesterday that I have never seen before. I figure between them they must have 27 lives. All were female and all were beautiful. I loved those cats.
I don't believe old curiosity can kill any of those cats. They were just so strong and confident.
I am about to do a cat Call. I heard he loves pretty cats. One was a pretty little Norwegian number. That is what you like, ain't it Call? They had manners too. I left the billfold that I stole in their cat house. And that pretty, little Norweigan number called me back to get that billfold.
She is gonna land on her feet, Call...so you be careful when you go out Tom Cattin'.
Call N. Allcats.............
Meow..meow.
With 27 lives amongst them......I believe there may be a birthday due. I feel joyful and I sing good.
Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear cats...happy birthday to you.
Do you work full time for Satan, or did YOU use a temp agency, darlin? I mean seriously... I am proud that I know God and Yes... to answer your question... Every day I get up and do my best to work for him! I'm blessed and so very lucky... I hope you recieve the same in life. I'm sorry your so very bitter.
Do you think your uncle had nothing to do with the outcome? Just curious, because, if someone pulled out a gun on me I would shoot them too.
Deputy Webster had every right to shoot him and guess what....he did. Sure I feel sorry for the family but answer this question, did Brian ever once think about his family, including the kids when he pointed a gun at an officer? Did he think about his family and kids when he was being arrested over and over? Do you think he would have been worried about Chris Webster and his family had he pulled the trigger and shot him? I doubt it. By the looks of things and others who were apparently involved, he probably had more than a drinking problem. My suggestion is to stop blaming others for the lone action of your uncle.
Oh my... I made no excuses... I made NONE. Re-read or do you need to go back to school? I simply do NOT understand the lack of compassion for family who lost someone they loved... bottom line... BOTTOM LINE. Obviously in a small town like yours... Compassion only comes on Sunday morning from 11-12 then breaks for the rest of the week.
I believe that the bible says if you live by the sword you will die by it. If you brandish a shotgun at a police officer it will almost always end badly. This is a sad case. I hope the kids will get the counseling they need to recover from the family violence they experienced. Otherwise it is the gift that keeps on giving. I'm sure that the officer is not feeling good today; no one enjoys taking a life. He did what he had to do.
My question is why did he not consider what his family would go through before he did what he did. He knew dang well that if he came out with weapon in hand that there would be consequences. Maybe, if like these people that are defending him says, he was tired of all the trouble and heartache, that he did it knowing that he would be shot. (Suicide by Cop). Think about it.

My heart goes out to his children, not only will they have to deal the loss of there father, but having to hear the mean things people are saying about there father.
"My heart goes out to his children, not only will they have to deal the loss of there father, but having to hear the mean things people are saying about there father."
You are so right here, Ann. Any person who would say anything bad about the father of these children is a slimeball. I mean that with all my heart. Anyone who would discuss these blogs is a slimeball. With a blog....anyone has an option to read or not to read. With your mouth running you have no idea who is listening. Anyone who would mention the opinionated blogs here to anyone who loves this fella should be ashamed of themselves. You cannot turn other peoples ears off. You can turn your mouth off. All should keep hateful words out of your conversation because you could hurt someone that does not deserve it. All that having been said.
God does rule. He will not put more on people than they can handle. HE DOES THINGS FOR HIS OWN REASONS THAT WE CANNOT ALWAYS UNDERSTAND.
Just maybe, in God's opinion, these children deserve a break. A LITTLE solitude, a peaceful nights sleep, etc.
If someone asks the children in 'years passed' down the road about their dad, "he was killed" is sufficient. Had it rocked on........it does not take a specialist to calculate the ending, does it? Suicide, murder, death penalty, OTHER CHARGES.
No, I do not know everything and I cannot predict the future but.......I do know that if I never stop at 4 way stop signs, my chances of a painful future for my loved ones and me TAKE A BIG TURN FOR THE WORSE.
umm no he had his emergency lights on as one light appeared to be out as the other light was on flashing on and off from left to right so that right tall light was out as the pic was taken dummy
To all of your comments I reply....you were NOT there..the "deputy" never went inside the house! nor did any others until 4 hours later...Ms.Rachael was not his "girlfriend" nor his "hostage" at any time. She started this whole terrible turn of events yesterday...Brian has a family, a mother and friends just as all others involved do..It is not any persons place that does not know him or was not there to speak ill of him or to claim to know what exactly happened. let everyone rest and come to terms with this tragedy in their own time and way.
We are thankful for all our law enforcement officers and the dangerous job they do. We understand the heavy decisions they are faced to make in an instant and pray for their safety every day. Everyone needs our prayers, concern and respect right now!
Oh RaCHEL STARTED THIS!!!! SHE HAD A GUN POINTED TO HER HEAD AND SHE STARTED THIS...NO ONE DESERVES THE ASS BEATING HE GAVE HER YESTERDAY!!! PLEASE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT BEFORE YOU RUN YOUR MOUTH!!!! CHRIS SAVED HER LIFE!!!

That's understandable. It's difficult for you not to respond when your sensibilites are brought to bear.
Lil' pjhh..aka:pearlene, is a clownish keyboard chameleon and will change "his"..yes, really, "his" name soon. Maybe 'stickman' will appear or it could be more of Anonymous, Chick N. Alfredo, DEBO, pool, do da, and unless I see a picture I.D., "he" is also writing as distraught favorite relative Brittany trying to take you to task. Don't overlook that empathetic and mildly concerned Ann. Awwww..tsk..tsk
Do it make sense? Of course 'it do'. Let's see some I.D young ladies.

Okay for those who dont know and think webster shot, killed, then hid>>> Officer Webster was confronted by Brian and gun fire erupted..Brian got off 2 shots, webster an unknown amount, but webster hit brian somewhere in the chest area, but did not kill brian right away. Brian went back to his bedroom and begin loading the shotgun again, Brian Bled to death while law enforcment were taking precautions
Do you really just sit and wait for people to comment here 24/7??? I bet you call barnesville.com your social life! That is sooo sad!

The real Sheila Tolley is still in Berkeley, California. The Bancroft Library, University of California.
She was invited by The Koret Foundation because she matched grants from the National Endowment For The Humanities sponsoring the Mark Twain project.
Samuel Clemens is signing autographs on Mark Twain's behalf for the new release of 'AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF MARK TWAIN, VOLUME 1'
She should be back by tomorrow.
The new volume could not have been published without her financial support. I really think you people should appreciate her for the good that she does by assisting Samuel L. Clemens.
If you watch Sixty Minutes, you know that he is in pretty bad shape since his stroke.
Why do you people not thank her once in a while instead of being so rude.
She does waste a lot of money but she worked hard for it all her life. So that is really her business.
Shania Twain, Mark's grand niece, will also be assisting. Sheila and Shania will be shown on Fox 5 at 5. She is getting me an autograph from Shania and that is really all I care about.
Keep in mind that this man has children. Sad to say that they may read some of these comments about their Father who is now deceased. We do not know all the details. There is an ex wife involved....need I say more?
"Deputy Webster has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation."
I certainly hope it is PAID administrative leave. My personal opinion is the guy died of a gunshot wound but you know..................circumstantial, politically correct and all that crap needs to fit in here somewhere.
I have known Brian a long time and he was always quiet and kind. What could have happened to such a good guy to make him change so. My heart and prayers go out to his mother and girlfriend, I know they loved him dearly. Don't be so quick to judge him, he has a precious little girl that can be hurt by all your comments.
Take that little girl off the computer. I will go out on a limb and say that......even the capital letters is quieter than the hell she heard in everyday life.
SHEILA, YOU DONT KNOW HIS FAMILY SO YOU REALLY NEED TO GET A NEW LIFE. HIS DAUGHTER WILL READ WHAT YOU WROTE AND WILL PROB HATE YOU FOREVER. GET OVER YOURSELF!!!
"Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Webster was confronted by Mr. Giddens, who was holding a shotgun. The response resulted in shots being fired by the deputy and the subsequent death of Brian Keith Giddens."
How many shots did Deputy Webster fire? Could he not stop him with one? What did Mr. Giddens do, besides hold a shotgun, that warranted being fired up? We The People want to know.
What he did was point a shotgun at a deputy....thats all that matters. The deputy could have emptied the whole magazine in him if he thought it was necessary to protect his life. My educated guess would be that Brian didnt put down the gun....and he lost. I am sure the autopsy report will be released and then you will know how many bullets killed him.
Your questions should be...why was the police called? Did Brian beat the crap out of someone? Did Brian beat the crap out of someone with family members present? Was he threatening the life of another? Was he drunk? Did he pick up a shotgun in the presence of the deputy? Did he point it at the deputy?
Whoever anonymous is with the bum comment you see my name. why not show yours and the people that knew Brian knew he had been through some awful times just lately and had no run ins with the law until recently....your right he was quiet and sweet until his world collapsed around him...most people could not have took half of what brian suffered through!!
I have gone through a divorce. I have gone through losing a child(which is far worse than anything he probably went through) but you don't see me getting in trouble with the law multiple times and I damn sure am not holding a shotgun outside my home infront of a police officer. Can you say stupid or suicidal? He needed help and he didn't get it. I feel bad that his kids don't have a father now, but he choose the path he led. Sadley he didn't think of his family.
Greg, I know that Brian went through so much the last couple of years and the world was just collapsing around him...talked to him many times about the pain and humiliation that he went through and it really sadden me to see him go through that. He will be greatly missed.
i knew Brian real well and his troubles , and he did have some ,but hey people ,who doesn't have problems ? i bet half of you who are talking bad about him are drunk right now . And please know this ,the whole story is still yet to come .
Sorry I don't drink so I don't have or had his problems. He pulled a gun on an officer and the officer did what he had to do and I would have done the same thing and shot him too if he aimed a gun at me. He's been arrested a numerous times in the past 20 years and not just 4 or 5 times like last year. May he rest in peace now for what he did.
The strongest thing I drink is Mountain Dew. Why? I don't want to become an alcoholic and do crazy things such as making terroristic threats, beating my children, becoming homeless, or showing off a shotgun to a deputy.
For those of you wanting to know how Rachel is..she is as well as can be expected. For those who implied that this is her fault, you are sadly mistaken...She is the victim in all this, beaten and tortured before the cops arrived she was afraid for her life. Chris saved Rachel's life...thank you Chris for that.
Their are many victims in this situation, I will be thinking and praying for you all.
I am sorry that Brian felt so low to do what he did. I wonder how many people really new him. I Know that his heart was broke and the pain was too much. I am glad that the officers are ok.
Take a walk in Brian's shoes....... You marry this woman years ago(their daughter a teenager now) You get married(suppose to be forever). You work, you spend time with your family (seen him at events with his children more than once), you do what the average person does (alright he had a drinking problem). We all have something we are dealing with and yes it is hard to understand how someone can be addicted to something when we are not. Then he is blind sided by a stab in the back from a man(The PREACHER at the church where his family went) he thought was going to help him with his addiction. The Preacher now has your family (wait a minute..some kind of help} Oh wait what kind of preacher? All the above arrest connected to this situation. What a load to deal with. Ideally we would not handle things like Brian did or would we? Continue in his footsteps...The man(?) preacher(?) now wants to adopt your children (another stab in the back). Is this the straw that broke the camels back? Did the adoption go through? Oh wow maybe he(the family destroyer)will rather have they social security? Can't wait to see. I thought preachers were to guide souls to God not destroyer them. I know that some people say Brian should not have let this ugly divorce ruin his life. Take a walk in his shoes for one moment imagine life as you know it suddenly ends. you are blindsided by the one that you think loves you and the one you thought was trustworthy(Preacher). Imagine how that must feel. My heart goes out to Brian and his children, Mother, niece, brother and everyone else that really knew this man. God Bless you Brian.
To: Sad - You are so right! I attended school with Brian and he was the quietest, kindest young man you would have ever met. EACH and EVERY person deals with life's obstacles in his/her own way.
And it wouldn't surprise me that there are some out there that chose to fuel the "obstacles" instead of encouraging the discouraged. My thoughts abd prayers are with his children.
To: "Sheila" (and ALL the other aliases you have applied to your being)- the wanna be comedian: Keep practicing! but please go back in your hole until you've mastered it! Don't call us, we'll call you!
you know nothing of the situation. Brian had many chances to turn his life around and he chose not too. Ugly divorce? the divorce was a agreement agreed upon by both parties. Brian got the house, and everything else. He lost it because he could not stay sober and lost his job. I agree Brian was a great guy and nice person when he was sober which was not ver often. The ex wife did what she had to do to get out of a bad situation. When you are laying in a hospital bed and a doctor clearly tells you that you will die if you dont quit drinking (due to liver failure) and you continue to drink that is what distroys a family. And as for this preacher (family destroyer) I blame him not , i guess everyone needs a scapegoat for there mistakes, who better than to blam a man of God. I Know him and he is a great man and would help anyone. I pray for the Giddens family and there loss, I pray for the children. May God comfort all involved in this tragic situation. It would be nice if the people would just let Brian rest in peace, and shut up about his past, his ex-wife, his girlfriend, him mom, his friends, his kids, etc, etc and just simply pray for all of them . thank you and God Bless
Take a walk in the shoes of every deputy that is called to residences to stop disputes and have a gun pulled on them by the same damn person that called them.
You bunch of cry baby, whiny, unthinking, unappreciative jerks.
A cop puts his life on the line for a "nutcase" that made the call himself and all of a sudden because the "nutcase" gets shot and bleeds to death before he can RELOAD and he instantly becomes some heaven bound hero because he died before he could kill the deputy that HE CALLED?
And I am the one with ISSUES. I am the one who needs to get a LIFE. I am the one who cannot give my opinion because Jesus told me not to judge. SURELY all you Bible thumping, verse picking Christians (not to be confused with the real Christians that I know.....and I know plenty) believe that God is powerful and can do anything and every thing. I believe he can. Well God decided that MR. Giddens time is up before Mr. Webster's didn't he? Does God have issues that he needs to correct? Does God need to get a life? My God doesn't.
I am a very close friend to the family, as a matter of fact Brians oldest sister has been more of a mother to me than my own mother has.I truly LOVE her and two sons, which are in my eyes my little brothers.I tried to ignore all the hate messages everyone has been typing, but someone has to defend the real victims here.Any wrong doing Brian has done he has dealt with them in one way or another, and I can say that he has now paid the highest consequences. As for anyone involved including the deputy at one form or another is an victim. Both families and friends of the families have been completely destroyed by hate and hurt, lets not add to it.PLEASE IM BEGGING!!!!!! everyone out .there to let Brian rest in peace and let his family mourn their loss, and let GOD do the judging. If you knew the real victims (the families)this request I have will be real easy for you to do.Right, wrong or indifferent the family is at a loss.Mrs.Ronda is the greatest person in the world and she has never and would never do anything to deserve the disrespect she has been shown. With that being said I just want the family to know I LOVE THEM!
I agree with you 100%. I don't know any of the people involved, and it makes me sick to see all of the negative comments about the deceased. All these professional bloggers need to understand that he is dead and that their words don't punish him for his wrong doing. The only ones hurt by it are the families of those involved. I pray for the Deputy and his family as well the family of the deceased. May the Lord comfort you and give you the peace to continue on.
Please tell me and make me understand why ANYONE who loved Brian would read this blog? Do you really expect the entire population of BLOGLAND to befriend either side of this event? I am sure you have heard this...but it really applies.
You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time.
It is called freedom of speech. If...just if, Deputy Webster had been shot and killed, how would you people feel then? It would only have taken a second to change this entire scenario, you know. Would it be better if an innocent deputy answered the call of duty and was MURDERED? Would it be better for his daughter to be on a visitation list the rest of her life to see her Dad?
How would your blog read then? Did Deputy Webster ask for it by answering the call?
Shelia, Maybe you could do something a little more productive with your time. Examples: donate your heart to science to see why some people have a heart that functions abnormally(no compassion), go to the doctor to get your mouth wired shut and your fingers taken off, I don't know maybe go see someone to rid you of your evil ways(I know of a preacher that can help you). Are you just old and bitter or what? Bake something. Spend time with your family. We never know when they will be taken away. You sound like you have huge issues.
It's far worse to hide behind a false name on here than to just post anonymously.
Tell ya what, let's do this. Meet me at the paper office and let Walter take a picture of you to post on this website and publish on here so everyone will know who the infamous "Sheila Tolley" is.
Name the day and time and I'll be there.
You won't do it you gutless wench.

Breaking News:SHEILA,----- WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE!
on
02/10/11 at 12:17 PM
Duh! Duh! DUH! That is breaking news? Have you been living in a cave? Serving life in prison?
EVERYBODY in this part of the state knows Sheila! If you have worked, shopped, attended school or church, read newspapers, gossiped, blogged or attended local funerals at anytime for the past 50+ years, you too would know that sweet lady. Eureka! You know something!
Her identity is the worst kept secret in Georgia! Do you watch lesbobabe Rachel Maddow or Chris Matthews on MSNBC for your BREAKING NEWS? Come on pjhh, stickman, ann, etc. Do better!
Everyone has hard times where you feel that its not worth it to go on. But you just have to keep trudging along because you know and hope that things will get better. You don't let your problems get the best of you. And you definatly don't take it out on an innocent person. Officer Webster did not go out looking to have to shoot and kill someone but you do what you have to, to make sure no one else is hurt. It could have been a lot worse.
No one likes a cop until they need one and very few understand the sacrifices the men and women in law enforcement make every day. We have families whom we love very much and we also want to go home at the end of the work day. We miss spending the holidays with our family and we know every day our life is at risk when we go on duty. It would be nice to know that the citizens of our community support us. God Bless Chris Webster and all of our law enforcement officers.
half of yall are completly aware of illegal activity in this town and do nothing about it because for one if they are a " good ole' boy" they could just about get away with murder. Look at hambone that kid regardless of his intentions was running away when hambone shot at him. And if my memory serves me right shooting at someone as they run away is illegal. what if he had hit a by stander. You all sit up at the gas stations and bs and talk and thats where out tax dollars are going.(that mostly pertains to the night shift lamar deputys). look at the idiot running the backwoods clubs down here where that shooting took place why isnt that shut down. oh.. i know, its because hes a good ole boy and because his daddy was prolly somebody in this town. you are all a waste of money. And you knwo who i am.
thank you pearlene h. stickman,pj, brittany, pool, pig etc. quit trying to revive the hambone pizza hut story. it is history, gone no more.go back and jump on tolley so she can kick your butt some more.
If he had been shooting at him he would have hit him......stop your liberal, pathetic whining. Did you get arrested for something and are blamming your stupidy on the police for catching you. You sound like the other people on here making excuses for Brians actions. F you and your opinions and I dont give a crap who you are. I doubt you would have the balls to walk in their shoes for 1 week. If they stop for coffee, who cares. They sill get the calls. Do you know how many times they never get to complete a full meal because of calls. If you want to do something about the crows nest, go to the next council meeting and voice your opinions. You make me sick getting on here bashing the very people that would protect you dumb ass in a heartbeat.
1. No one but GOD knows ALL of the demons in this man's life. 2. He was and is a child of GOD. 3. At one time, he was as full of promise and hope as anyone. 4. He had children and people who loved him, pray for them. 5. Pray for the officer who was forced to take a life, it isn't easy. 6. If you haven't ever participated in a forcible entry, SRT, HRT - then leave it to those who have. You have your whole life to judge what you think should have happened based on television and movies, the first man through the door has a nanosecond. As someone who has been first through the door many times, I know, and no one judges our actions more harshly than us - and we do it for the rest of our lives too. So pray for Dep. Webster - a good man, thrust into a situation that is tragic for all, including him - who will relive that moment every day, until God calls him home. Sign me, a soon to be retired soldier who is stunned, shocked, and understanding.
I have a question....why did the family stand around and let him beat Rachel, if that is what really happened? Who called the police?
I know this must be hard for the Brians family but looks like he brought this on himself. I am sure this is also hard for the deputy and he did what he had to do to protect himself. I would have shot him too.
I just want to say how very dissappointed I am in Sheriff Waller's "press release." There are some instances in which you should step out of the "politically correct" box and put a little heart into your statement.
A "thank you" to every law enforcement officer involved would be appropriate to say. How about saying that the deputy handled himself professionally as he has been trained to do?
I am very sorry for all involved as it has to be a very sad and traumatic situation.
God bless all law enforcement officers as we owe you much more than you receive. Thank you!
Maybe. If So, that is one reason I could not be in public office. Someone would slap a gag order on me on election night.
(I am quite sure many bloggers with an above average comprehension of newly created acronyms and alpha uses of numbers will submit many other reasons.)
If you have a friend or loved one who is addicted to drugs or alcohol, please do not enable them by excusing their behavior. Read about co-dependence and how destructive it is for everyone involved. You do them no favors by covering for them and making excuses. We all have it hard. We all have our hearts broken. We all experience unfairness, ugliness, and things we don't deserve in life. We get over it.
Hold them accountable. Insist that they get help for their addiction. Allow them to experience the consequences of their behavior. It's hard to do, and they will make you feel incredibly guilty but you will do it out of love. They will say they will kill themselves and it will be your fault. They will say then I won't support you financially, they will blame the abuse on you, and they may get violent. Be strong. AA and Al-Anon are only a phone call away.
Remember, when someone shows you who they really are, believe them.
To all the disrespectful people (especially one who doesn't deserve to be named, I'll give anybody one guess who that is):
Do you realize how powerful your words are? Do you realize that no matter how much you rationalize and say that people can "choose" whether or not to read it YOU have chosen to put it out there and that is YOUR fault. There are children to protect out there and that is EVERY upstanding citizen's job. We have to protect them EVEN when they get curious and research what happened to their father and up pops the Barnesville Herald Gazette. That is our responsibility as citizens to control what comes out of our mouth because what you say is not just nonsense, as much as we wish it would be, and it affects the lives of all who happen to read it. When his teenage daughter and young son read what other people had to say about their father, how do you think they will feel? That is who we should be protecting. And honestly, what you say says a lot about who you are... so, everyone who said hateful and just plain unnecessary remarks should not judge unless they are prepared to take the judgement they have earned by their words. We can all say how we feel about the situation, but in reality none of it matters except our sympathy and prayers because at this point that is all we can do (besides bring each other down in our free time, which by the way appears to be ALL DAY). I know that the officer is probably dealing with a lot and I pray that he finds peace in this situation. I pray for Brian's family and I pray that they find peace in this tragedy. The only peace that can overcome this tragedy is the peace that passes all understanding. I know that my words will not affect the one who it is meant for, but so be it. I've said it and yes it has made me feel better. This was not meant to fuel the fire, if anything it was meant to throw some water on it.
"The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences." Proverbs 18:21 New Living Translation
And yes, before the question is asked, I work everyday for God.
Dang! Are there any cops left to protect Griffin? I'm skeered!
This deputy shoots as good as Oswald.
Walter does nice stuff like that for people who are LOST!
Why is the GBI in a rush to get here?
I don't understand.
And, no where does the story say the GBI is rushing here. It merely states that they are en route. Or, in laymen's terms, they be on the way.

So here I am. Old half baked Sheila. With no notoriety and no one to tell how wonderful I am and to send me on to Heaven.
Just me and Clyde Barrow.
It is lonely at the bottom.

i normally stay out of lamar county, but i couldn't resist that one.
Brian should not have stolen those pencils. Lead poison is deadly.
Walter...before I wake up I trust that you will have posted one or twenty blogs that contain these phrases and lingo:

obstruction of an officer, family violence, battery and criminal interference with government property, terroristic threats and acts, reckless conduct, carrying a concealed weapon, obstruction, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission or attempt to commit a crime and OTHER CHARGES, driving while license suspended or revoked and OTHER CHARGES, open container and disorderly conduct,
simple battery.
-Sheila Tolley-
Sometimes I wish they had kept me in jail when I beat my wife. She would be alive today and I would still have my trophy.
-OJ-
that is a good try....in retrospect........But we cannot un-obstruct an officer, reverse family violence, un-battery and de-criminal interference with government property, un-terrorist terroristic threats and acts, un-reckless conduct, dis-carrying a concealed weapon, un-obstruct obstruction, re-possess possesion of a firearm or knife during the commission or attempt to commit a crime and void-OTHER CHARGES, re-drive while license are suspended or revoked and OTHER CHARGES, close already opened containers and make orderly of disorderly conduct, and we cannot simplify..
simple battery.
I had a dear family member that checked into Charter Lake Hospital every time the law got too close to him. I loved him then and I love him now........but he could not unring bells and un-make memories either.
Neither can I. It is almost impossible to put a cat back in a bag. I got some scratches of my own to prove it.

I believe his choice in women was his downfall!
RIP Brain!!

Tell Uncle Vernon, Grandmother, etc. I said hello and that I love them.As I will get to see them one day also.
Sorry Sheila, many dudes have already ridden in here and spent their wads in the H.G. Corral.
The anonymous gang consisting of the usual one or two laggards have posted errant potshots before you even were 'cocked and locked'. See the off the wall posts? Your usual backshooter is secreted in his basement 'hidey hole' waiting for your posts. I'll watch your back, but, he's all yours when he slithers out. DeadEye Dick Anonymous is the masochist who is waiting with feverish anticipation for you to maim him into keyboard submission like Major Adams whipping the 'ship' out of a wayward steer moving West in his wagon train. "Bloggers HO..ooo..oo"
'Your guy' is the same one who pokes your hornet's nest and sits back waiting to post his outlandish statements making them appear to have come from different posters. Perform your Ali Earp 'shoot-a-dope' maneuver on him until he is out of ammo, then POW!..drill him!
DeadEye Anonymous is waiting for an opening with his shaky fingers poised above the keyboard ready to fire into the crowd just to blast you. Go get him Salamity Sheila!
UPDATE: Sorry old girl, the backshooting blogger snaked out of his hole (#14.1 Anonymous on 02/08/11 at 11:08 PM) with some help and slightly winged you before I could type and post this warning salvo!
I see you have recovered and taking aim again. Good night.

Her comment #23 is actually logical
Damn.
I bet you say "he was asking for it."
My guess is that you did not know him or he wanted nothing to do with you!
I will be praying for you also!

Enjoyed a tasty day, we did!

We are thankful for all our law enforcement officers and the dangerous job they do. We understand the heavy decisions they are faced to make in an instant and pray for their safety every day. Everyone needs our prayers, concern and respect right now!
Is it implied here that the cooperation from his agency is not exceptional? That is sort of hard to believe.
I certainly hope it is PAID administrative leave. My personal opinion is the guy died of a gunshot wound but you know..................circumstantial, politically correct and all that crap needs to fit in here somewhere.
Your questions should be...why was the police called? Did Brian beat the crap out of someone? Did Brian beat the crap out of someone with family members present? Was he threatening the life of another? Was he drunk? Did he pick up a shotgun in the presence of the deputy? Did he point it at the deputy?
If any Christians have read past all of the rude and/or irrelevent comments above, please, please, please be in prayer for his family at this time.
Their are many victims in this situation, I will be thinking and praying for you all.
Yours might.
Why are you afraid to defend people that you love and give your name. I do not understand.
Tell ya what, let's do this. Meet me at the paper office and let Walter take a picture of you to post on this website and publish on here so everyone will know who the infamous "Sheila Tolley" is.

I know this must be hard for the Brians family but looks like he brought this on himself. I am sure this is also hard for the deputy and he did what he had to do to protect himself. I would have shot him too.
Thank you!
