Milner prepares to allow beer, wine by the drink

Milner city council approved a first reading of a pouring license code that will allow the new Backwoods Grill to serve beer and wine by the drink. Owner Tracy Wallace hopes to open the grill in the former Rudy's Restaurant soon after council gives final approval at its March 18 meeting.

And all you drug addicts and killers from Barnesville dont make your way to our nice little town of Milner and ruin our new eating establishment. Keep all that way down below the tracks....

Tracy is one of the best restaurants hosts I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.
He will raise the bar for all eating establishments in Lamar county.
I'm looking forward to eating at the Backwoods Grill.

Dear Betty, I don't expect to see any drunks FLOATING around, but I am worried about the ones who will be driving and walking around. What church are you a member of? Are the benefits that the city is going to recieve from the sale of alcohol worth it. It will cost the city quite a bit to house the people who are caught with DUI's. The profit you make off the sale probably won't equal out to the cost of jail, employees at the jail and the public denfenders, and that's if we are lucky enough not to have a few funerals on top of that. Where do you live? undoubtably it's not next door to the resturant. Did you vote for alcohol sales at the convient store also ? I hope I made my stand clear. As a christian, I know that it is never the right decision when you make a compromise.

They are open Thursday through Sunday from what I understand; for dinner hours. I don't know what their pricing is.

I didn't even know it was open yet? I haven't seen any advertisements to let people know anything about them. Food? Prices? Hours? You have to let people know or they will continue going out-of-town to eat a meal. Common sense in my opinion.
