Two accused murderers and two Kentucky escapees were found with weapons after a search earlier this week at the Lamar County jail.

And just think, everybody screaming how these people are innocent of the charges brought against them and look at what happens. 2 murders of all the ones to get caught with alcohol and weapons and in the jail. I am suprised they didnt have a meth lab cooking it up in there.... hard to kick that habit!!!!!

My question is: If the jail was being operated properly, how did the alcohol and weapons get in? Sounds like there is something smelly at the jailhouse once again.

Alcohol can be made in jails using fruit. And "weapons" could mean anything that was made from common jailhouse supplies and converted to weapons. I actually fail to see how this is news worthy as this happens in jails all the time. Only thing news related about it is 4 of the people found with them. Maybe scoop can further detail exactly what was found?

Did I misread this story? I read nothing about alcohol being found. The weapons were fashioned from items supplied to the inmates such as sheets, and tooth brushes. The Buice babies need to get off their high horse. This happens in places like the DeKalb and Fulton County jail on a regular basis. The important thing is that the jailers found the weapons.

Maybe they were going to slit each others throat with the dental floss or hang each other with the trash bags? Who knows? We are talking about the Lamar County Jail!

get the slugs into two teams march them to the new football field charge admission give the teams weapons let them have at it the last one left alive gets to go free some other culture did this and it worked for them

charles adams was my friend. i hope his killer does escape. he is safe in jail. people will serve justice in their own way if he gets out.

toilet paper can be used as a deadly weapon also when constructed right. Its strong enough to hang youself with so it can also be used to choke an officer. These inmates should be confined to segregation with a video recorder going at all times. 15-30 minute watches should be conducted and recorded.

I have to agree with Ben on this one. Why spend our money to keep them in jail when they are pretty much doing the same thing they would be doing if they were still on the street.

Toilet paper can make a great weapon.

The proper amount of toilet paper can knock the crap out of anyone.

I guess no Sheriff is perfect and no jail is perfect. It's just a matter of time for anyone to have a problem when you have hundreds of people trying to mess you up.

Thanks for putting some facts about this escapade on your site. However, I do hope everyone reads the story and not just look at your picture. It could be kinda misleading if you don't take the time to read the story.

so, do any of these guys have dreads...that's all I really wanna know. haha. seriously though, homemade weapons are a problem in every jail. along with homemade other things. once i worked at the spalding county sheriff dept. and the women got put on lockdown because a homemade "sexual device" was found. now THAT'S scary!!

I have a good friend that work at the jail and (he know who he is. okay that's not the oint here he do a damn good job and stuff like this only make his job and the ones that are tough get even tougher. Then, things really get out of control when everybody is uptight inmates finds ways to get beat up or more charges. I don't know why lamar county have not expanded to a bigger jail that have a part for inmates that got charges like this to be under lockdown in their own cells 22 hours a day and then stuff like this want happen because they only got the shit they need and if their inner person chew them up to kill themselves then find, but get a stove throw their ass in and then move on in life from that point. If not things like this is going to happen today, tommorrow, next week, next month and for ever. PUT A STOP TO IT NOW AND SAVE THE HEADACHE LATER!!!!!!

Did any of that comment make any sense?? As far as the part about expanding to a bigger jail, why should my tax dollars go to provide better living conditions for those people? My taxes are high enough. Let them sit in a cramped cell with 10 other animals and no provisions. Maybe if we made jails places that they didn't WANT TO BE IN there wouldn't be a much crime. As far as the weapons inside it is very easy for convicts to fashion a weapon out of almost anything. You have to remember that these people have nothing else to do but sit around and think up ways to beat the system. As a former Corrections Officer I have just about seen it all. It's not always the officer's fault. You should try to supervise 50 or more convicts by yourself. I say KILL EM ALL AND LET GOD SORT EM OUT!!

I agree - new jail so the inmates will be more comfortable - BLAH! We have people in jail now making their living - the baby moma is at home with the 10 children on welfare and food stamps while the baby daddy is in jail getting three meals a day and watching TV - no worries, right!

25.1 you had it made man. I had 252 inmates by myself for a few years. Ive seen police officers walk in the prison and it looked like they were gonna pass out they were so scared. Its definatly a different world in there. Its not for everyone and you cant stop everything but it dont help when you have officers helping the inmates. By experience yes it is mostly women, and then the majority of those women are black. Just my experiences at one institution.

I don't care what color you are if you break the law you should go to jail! It's called discipline and respect which a lot of people have lost it in today's society. If a murderer is in jail making weapons, then he should be given nothing at all. I agree prisioners have more rights than the normal people in our society. It is rediculous that people will break the law to get a free place to live and free food. As rediculous as it sounds people do that because the also get free TV and other extras they should not be entitiled to. If jail was made into a harsh place where people did want to go then there would be less crime. Wake up Lamar County 3 murders in the past 6 months plus a bank robbery!!!! The economy is getting worse people something needs to be done now!!!!!
