A Lamar County man was bludgeoned to death early Saturday morning, becoming the community’s third murder victim in just over three months.

My husband and I were close friends of Bubba and his wife Tracy. Bubba did not deserve to be murdered in such a mean and brutal way.
Bubba loved his family very much.
PLEASE find the person(s) responsible for such a brutal murder and don't let them breath another breathe. To Tracy and Bubba's mom our thoughts and prayers are with you. We will miss you very much BUBBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our country is in as bad of shape, as it has ever been, if not worse... Like a lot of the other folks that are commenting on this tragedy, I hope and pray that security cameras were in place and on, and that the perpetrator of this crime is caught and brought to justice. These senseless and calloused-killings have to stop. We spend a trillion dollars to fight a war in Iraq, and our own drug-infested United States is bringing this country to its knees. Somebody is asleep at the wheel.

We talk tough about ridding our society of drugs and the crimes that come with them. But, it seems to me that we are losing the battle. Innocent people are being murdered, good kids are getting hooked, families are being destroyed, and on-and-on it goes... Where will it all stop? Does our government want it to stop, or -- are we just getting lip-service?

I just read on the internet where the large drug cartels from Mexico are spilling over into Arizona and Texas -- bringing execution-style murders and heinous crimes that go with them to our southern borders. This will require action from our government to help provide the resources that are necessary to turn the tide.

Our country is in a financial mess, and we've got politicians that are too concerned with staying in power, instead of working together to do what's best for the people of this country. Folks -- admit it -- we're in a helluva' mess. I didn't vote for the current administration that's in the White House, but I will readily applaud their efforts, if they can provide the leadership to bring us back to the proud nation that we once were...

I don't claim to know about, all there is to know, about the so-called stimulus package, but on the surface, it sure looks like that at least our president is trying to take action to help save us -- instead of getting us into the predicament that the last administration has got us in... We'll see...

We can argue amongst ourselves about what is the right direction to take to keep us out of a depression, while the ship is sinking the whole time. Or, we can choose to take action... It appears to me that the current administration is at least trying to do what's right... I will not judge, until they have been given a fair chance to plug the gaping-hole in that sinking-ship -- that is our economy. Hopefully, they will do something, also, about the real enemy that we have in this country - DRUGS!!!

I am not insinuating that this was a drug deal gone bad, but one-half of this tragedy could be committing a murder to support a drug habit. Who knows? My heartfelt sympathy goes out to this family that has lost their loved one. What a 'dadgum'- shame!!!

The innocence of country life is reaching an end and the tragedies of the concrete jungle have arrived. Folks in this neck of the woods are going to have become street smart if they are to survive the coming change.

i worked for eagle truck wash for almost three years and out of all the jobs i have had this was the only place where anyone was ever allowed to be on the job ALONE maybe they should be held responsible for the damages to this man and his family by breaking the number one rule... first of all did he die instantly.. or did he lay there and suffer.. the guy probably wouldnt even have tried to rob the place if there were more employees on the clock.. remember safty in numbers... even if he got injured if there was someone else they could have called 911 and he might have had a chance to survive... and all this talk about "oh america is spending money over seas and americans are bring the country to its blah blah blah" wake up... society is at the lowest point it has ever been realize that you cant trust anyone.. someone is always out for themselves.. the guy who did this spent years in prison and had only been out about a month before commiting this crime.. ironic?

Phillip There are many jobs that require you be alone. Gas stations for one. No one but the one who did this is responsiable. If not for these animals you would be able to work or walk alone anywhere in this country. You just seem to have a chip on your shoulders. I worked for them in the past also and they are a very understanding group of people.

I agree, and support the right to bare arms for personal protection and to insure individual liberties. I love my country but fear my government. The problem as I see it is that too many citizens are not being responsible when it comes to gun ownership and is putting the right to own a fire arm in jeopardy for all. Laws are already in place to help stop this problem but it always comes down to individual responsibility. Where there is money to be made there is always abuse and there are always those who are careless to where the weapon falls in the wrong hands and does harm to the innocent. Where do we address these problems without more legislation?

You ask a great question. Where do we address these issues? I don't have an answer right now but I am certainly going to think on it. Is it in the home? The church? The cafe? Where will people actually listen.

The answer to that question obviously is not a simple one. Being a Southern boy I grew up around guns and know what they can do. I have a permit to carry, but many years ago lost my desire to hunt. Respect for the potential harm from a firearm is usually never acquired until a moment of regret. Those who now regret are where we can usually learn the most. To this experience we should seek the reality and the magnitude of this responsibility. In this respect, if explored, there are many resources we can easily draw from. This lesson must be ingrained at an early age and usually can not be accomplished except thru a vivid illustration. How to do this our educators must find a solution. To this, you know there will be much resistance.

I can tell you where to find the answer to putting a stop to these sencless crimes.Go back to the early days of hanging at sun rise and have the whole community show up to watch.You see a grown man or woman jerking and twitching at the end of a rope a person will think twice about doing these kind of things in the future. what it boils down to is getting rid of these bleeding hearts and going back to serving JUSTICE in the manner it was ment to be served. An eye for an eye. and any body who dosent agree with this can kiss my ass.

man that is terrible. Those truck washes/stops are dangerous places. I talked with a man a few weeks ago that met a guy in Mcdonough at a small truck stop a year or two ago to make a firearm sell or something. After the transaction was complete and the buyer left, the seller was counting his money before he left again and was approached by an armed man. He told the perp to leave but the guy insisted on getting the money from him. The guy fired one shot through the door striking the perp. He disarmed the perp and called 911.
Id rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6. Excersise your 2nd ammendment rights and get you a gun to carry. Go throught the proper channels to get a carry permit.

Isn't it odd that this man lived on the same street that Charles Adams lived on (Grove St.)Maybe there is some connection..Was this really robbery?..And Isn't it also curious that after Mr Smith was arrested for Mr Adams murder there sure have been a lot of Drug bust....I'd sure hope the authorities are looking into all this.....hmmmmm

We knew both the men that was murder
and Bubba had no connection at all with
Charles . They did not know each other. It
was a terrible lost for the familys of both

I did not know Bubba Millner but I do know
one of his sons and I'm so very sorry. Chris
your a wounderful son and the person(s) that
did this will pay for that brutal murder to
your dad. I know in my heart they will be

Well said #3. As a police officer I see this type of thing from time to time and I always wish the victim would have been armed. All you have to do is go to your local court house to get a right to carry permit and spend $38.00. They will explain the proper, and simple, steps that you need to take from there. Every honest law abiding American should take advantage of their 2nd amendment right and arm themselves. If you can call the police and wait for them to arrive then that is the best thing to do, but in a lot of situations, such as the one mentioned above, we’re just not right around the corner when you need us.

Senseless. It's a crying shame that those of us who work over night shifts to support our family have to do so in constant fear. I hope there were cameras and this senseless crime was caught on tape.

I've known William (I always called him William) since grade school, and always got along well with him. I'd seen him just a week ago and we spoke briefly. This is senseless. My thoughts and prayers got out to his family. I hope they catch the guy quick and punish him in the same manner as he did William.

dear family this is all very hurtful its a shame a good man had to die because people are so stingy. he had a wonferful family and always did everything he could to support them and make sure they were in no harm. i really hope they catch the guys also because he did not deserve it. god is with us all. and just remember he is walking with the lord. im praying for it and his family.he is carried on by his mom loretha his oldest son christopher a daughter melissa and his youngest son adam. he also had two wonderful grandsons gregory and jason. he will be missed by many family members and friends. yo are now our gaurdian angel. love always briana krystal beth pat and chris

Thank you for all the thoughtful words. I really loved my uncle he would make you laugh and was always there whenever you needed him to be. He worked hard everyday for his wife Tracey and step daughter melissa,son's Christopher, and Adam. I can not even fathom shy anyone would be so cruel as to rob a man for one hundred dollars and kill him.There were man people who cared greatly for him and I hope who ever done this gets caught! I love you bubba and you will greatly be missed!!

I want to start out saying, "Thank you!" Thank you for all of the thoughts you are giving my family in a time of need. My uncle, "Bubba" was one of the best men ever alive. Not only was he a wonderful uncle who could always make you laugh no matter how bad your day was. But he was a wonderful husband, father, friend and worker. He should have not died in the way he did. But I have come to the conclusion that JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED! Not just by man but GOD himself. No one should have died like this over a hundred dollars? Come on get real. People need to start realizing that you are not safe anywhere anymore and you need to live each day to the FULLEST. Because like my uncle Bubba when he kissed my aunt and cousins by that day he didnt know that would be the last time he would get to see them or kiss them. Again, thanks for everyones thought and prayers in the this time of need.

Bubba is our brother in law and will be deeply missed! We want Tracy,melissa,Christopher,Adam and Bubba's mom to know they will all be in our hearts and prayers.Please all of you work together and be the family that Bubba was so proud of and get through this together cause all of you were the most important thing in his life and he would want all of you to mourne over loosing him as a family!!! The world needs to stop and look at what being selfish has come to. KIDS,A MOTHER and A WIFE left to mourne and for what?????? money that you can t take with you when you die... The bad thing of it is whoever did this horriable crime just ask yourself was it worth a life for what probably lasted what a few hours for you to have taken a lifetime from 3 kids that loved and needed there dad. I only pray everyone remembers what Bubba lost his life over and we all come to our sinses and realise life is worth living for love and honor and trust NOT MONEY!!!!!!

I think that the police of Butts County and Barnesville should get together and make a statement to all the idoits out there that continue to make both Butts and Barnesville look so unsafe. Serve Justice and start buckling down on everyone not just the drugs but all the crimes that you here about the both of them. I am so sorry for my uncle and all of his family and hope that justice is served to the fullest extent to whom ever it was. May the Lord be with my family at this time. bubba was a part of our family for 17 years he worked hard to support my sister-in-law Tracy and their children.He was quite and put his children first. This is why he was working the late shift and some idot had to come in and take his life. Not only did he take bubba's life he also took the love of Tracy's life and the father of 3 children and 2 grandchildren that waited on him to come home to them everyday.
He will be greatly missed and I pray that whom ever did this will be caught and brought to justice. Tracy I Love You and I will be there for you and the kids. To all reader please pray for this family it has been a terrible tragady
for all.

Bubba was my uncle and i'm sorry for the death of him and very sorry for the way it happened and my heart goes out for his family. Also people need to realize like in the story up top Bubba left not only two sons but a daughter and a wife TRACY and daughter MELISSA, they might not have had a peice of paper to say they were married but if that was good enough for bubba to say he was married it should be for others (Loretha Milner) If you cared for your son the way you say you did then you would realize that Tracy and Melissa meant the world to him the same as the boys they should be treated equally the same as bubba did, he didn't treat you any differnt did he and what ever meant so much to him should mean the same for you being a mother.A family sticks toghether in times of need and if Bubba considered you family it should still be that way.
So let me fix the mistake someone made at the top...
Milner is survived by two sons, Christopher Milner and Adam Milner
Daughter Melissa Austin AND wife Tracy (Milner in Bubbas eyes paper wasn't that important to him in his heart is GOOD ENOUGH!)
I hope some people take my message to heart before they hurt the ones important in Bubbas life.

Loretha (my grandmother) loved her son as much as she says...or more I'm sure. She may not have always agreed with his choices in life (and we all know she voiced her opinion as any mother does,she only wanted the best for him), but that doesn't mean she didn't care for him. His entire life she gave him ALL that she had. I've stood by for many years and watched this. Now is not the time for you or anyone else to cause drama. It is a time to remember MY uncle for who he was.

Thats what i was trying to get across to ya'll like in the message above Bubba was survived by more than just his sons, Tracy and Melissa was just as important and need just as much support as ya'll. put yourself in Tracys shoes Bubba was her right hand and life how is she supposed to support all the kids and deal with this great loss if no one even reconizes her pain and suffering as being his wife.I just think ya'll should think about things before you write them.

wow,i just talked to Bubba a few days ago and he had a smile on his face as he always did.I partied many ,many times with Bubba and his best friend Chris who would later marry his sister Tracey.They were close for years as we all were.time seperated everyone but the past held many memories and all were wonderful and funny.we did some stupid things but all in good fun.Monday night wrestling will never be the same without you Bubba.God Bless and my prayers to the family.(Chris Austin,Im sorry about this..u guys were glued to the hip and i know this is tearing ur world apart)

Bubba and chris were best friends and Bubba took so much time and care for Chris's sister Tracy and daughter melissa that he married her in every sense of the word-without papers..these two were closer then some actual married people i know.She and Melissa should also be mentioned because im sure they are in just as much pain as everyone else.If the man who done this had met Bubba somewhere else he would have become best friends and loved him like the rest,he was an awsome person and will be missed forever..anyone have funeral times yet?

I didn't know William Milner personally, but it tears me apart to know someone took this man's life for $100. My God--what is this world coming to? We have to attack people in truck washes to get $100 for our next high, or whatever the reasons were? A man's life was taken, and his family will have to live with this for the rest of their lives. Only God and the individual(s) responsible will know the true motives behind this senseless act. My thought and prayers go out to the family members. Remember him for the hard-working wonderful person he was! May God bless you and keep you.

Tracy, Melissa, Chris, Adam, I'm really sorry that something this horrible could happen to you. To bubba of all ppl. He was a good man, good husband, father, friend. It's just to soon for all this to happen. He had every thing and it was taken from him for 100.00. That man deserves to suffer in pain for the rest of his life as you will along with the family for the rest of your, our's lives to not have him here. He does not deserves not to live. What morals did his parent's set forth him. For him to committ murder to some one who done no harm??? I can in a way say i know how you feel. But all of this is just to soon. I really hope we don't lose any more of our family. I just want to tell ya'll to be strong. Uncle bubba would want you to be strong. I hope you can get through this as i have. My heart is with this mans family. My husband works at an Eagle Truck wash and works thrid shift alone. I can't imangine going through something like this..... This is why people shouldn't have to work alone... My heart is with you...
