Southern Rivers Energy still has about 900 customers without power as of Friday.
“Because we're having to just rebuild from scratch, it will probably be Sunday before power is completely restored,” said SRE spokesperson Erin Cook
Additional EMC crews, to the tune of around 50 people, will stay for the duration of the restoration effort.
Those without power are primarily in Lamar County. Because of the massive devastation to the electric distribution system, it must be rebuilt completely starting at the substation.
Members residing in the areas of Barnesville that were devastated by the tornadoes are encouraged to make arrangements to stay with friends or family during the restoration process.
Visit the SRE Outage Viewer on the Storm Center of its website, southernriversenergy.com, for a picture of where current outages are located.
Call 877-358-1383 or 770-358-1383 to report an outage. The phone lines are open so do not use the website to report AN outage.
“If you see a downed power line, please call our office immediately and stay away from the line,” said Cook. “Assume any line is energized. We sincerely appreciate everyone's cooperation and patience during our restoration efforts.”

Thank you to everyone who is working so hard to get power restored. I did not expect to have it back so soon after seeing the power lines torn up, poles snapped in two, trees snarled in lines. They are doing a wonderful job.

Thanks for all your help. Our power was out from 1am Wed night , when it hit, until Saturday night.
