In situations like this, the Federal Government gives money to pay people for services. Y'all dummy's are working for free and Barnesville/Lamar County is keeping the money! So yeah they looting your a$$!

is there any truth to this that lamar county is receiving money from the a broke government and keeping it. if that is true then that would be right up there with the looter just for taking advantage of people wanting to lend a hand. i would like to know what proof you have of this.

Ask your local representatives! They know all about the money that is here and coming! I can't give specific info because of my position. But, it's not right!

We have several companies that have offered to come in and work - if they are going to get paid. There may be a need for that at some point, but we are still fortunate enough to have volunteers who are spending their own time and money to help. We can't say enough about the number of people who have donated. On behalf of the community, the families and the individuals - thank you.

With a heart like that we the victims say stay home. We may need help but most of us don't have the money to pay out for you. I would rather the trees stay where they are than have someone that is heartless. Just remember if this ever happens to you...we may not help either. But knowing me i would be one of the first. There has been alot of great people to come out and ask what to do.

I think they were talking about the government pay them not the victims. They do have gas costs that can get costly for one person. The government is prepared to pay people for stuff like this. It is a shame that insurance companies only pay for the trees to be removed if they fall on a structure. They should pay for everything to be back to normal!

Yes, the gov't provides money to HELP with clean-up costs. In no way, shape or form will they provide enough to clean up lamar county and help rebuild. If you aren't man (or woman) enough to VOLUNTEER your time, please do stay home. There are plenty of us out here who are willing to provide our time and services free of charge to help our neighbors.
