If any funds are available for agencies needing funds to continue their missions, the 5th brigade of the GASDF, the soldiers in Uniform on Grove St and Cannafax and Old Milner rds could use a small ammount to buy restocking supplies, a couple of chainsaws and related equipment. We could also use a Honda inverter type generator for our sensitive radio and computer equipment.
If anyone has a white (any color, we can repaint)enclosed trailer with rear and side side doors about 12 to 14 feet long they wish to donate to the 5th brigade Communications unit please call Chief Warrant Officer Holloway at 770-630-7489 or myself CPL Ross at 770-872-2208.
We are short budgeted now and have needed this trailer for some time. It will enhance our abilities to respond and stage and stand up should another crisis arise. make sure if it is donated to us that your papers say for 5th brigade use on 5th brigade missions only or it could be reassigned to another Brigade outside this area.
I'm also glad that there is a positive coming from somewhere since we were one of the families impacted and are still waiting on insurance adjustors and trying to relocate while stressing over all of the unknown. This has been a very traumatic experience all the way around and hopefully all of the agencies that are set up to assist after a disaster will be able to learn from the chaos and get a more organized plan in place for if it were to ever happen again in this area. I am eternally greatful to the friends who have come to help us deal with this and search for our belongings.
