Really...... We had to make this statement? We have been flooded with helpers from all over, and were telling Lamar County, it is a day of help? Really? WOW...

This is weird. I have been hearing that all over, in different places of damage, they won't let people in to help, for fear of looting.

Lots of people have wanted and even tried to lend a helping hand, but have been sent in circles or even turned away. I understand that there has never been a devastation like this before, but there are a lot of good residents here who would like to help, but have been denied the opportunity to do so. If I were affected like some going through this devastation, I would like to have the lending hand of all of those of the community that I know on a personal basis. Those whom I see day to day here. We have lots who rush in to help at the beginning, but it is the ones who are here long term for the long haul that will actually help to make the difference for those who are left after the relief people have long gone. We are all neighbors of the same community, and we need the support of one another to make it through this devastation. God bless everyone that has helped or wanted to help in this effort.

Are there still volunteers, who want to help with the cleanup? I have relatives down there who are in need of help. I and members of my church will be down there this week(May23-29) to help at my relations homes. If there are others in B'ville wanting to volunteer, we can use all the help we can get.

Hello. Who and where are your family in need? What kind of help are you asking for? Please know that our thots and prayers have been with everyone in Lamar County, as well as other devastated areas. Do you have an idea of what some long term needs are at this time? God Bless!
