This article is a little misleading regarding the library. It is my understanding that regardless of what happens with the Water Authority, Lamar County will eventually have to take over the Library. This was stipulated by legislation on the State level several years ago.

KentK says....That is incorrect. When HB489 was debated between Barnesville and Lamar County in 1999 or 2000, not positive about the dates, the final agreement was the city took over sole responsibility for the library, the county took over sole responsibility for recreation and the county have the city several free cells in the county jail. Hope that helps.
