Authorities have made at least one arrest in connection with the weekend murder of William Charles (Bubba) Milner of Lamar County. Here is the report from the Jackson Progress-Argus.

this is a lesson 2 people that money is the rule ova all evil and even though his children is like family 2 me it is no reason for him 2 asasinate anyone. but ima put both the killer and william family in my prayer
this is for my black brothers and sisters in lamar co. there is power in numbers they know that, a house divided against itself shall fall
please stop jabbing back and forth with each other, this only support their theory that we are on a one way road to self-destruction this type of behavior gives our buddies across the tracks a mental erection lets don't give them that satifation, though i find it utterly amazing that these people find time everyday to insert comments on this site(get a life)with all your knowledge and wisdom why don't you slither on up to wall street and stabilize
the stock market and prevent another great depression instead of trying to make yourself seem superior and make our african american race look less educated
It is so sad someone has been arrested in this case and all you people care about is the bank being robbed. This is a life lost for no reason. Good job by all who helped track this man down.
You are right. It is so sad a life is lost. I pray that God be with his family. This should be a lesson to everyone to just stay prayed up and treasure every moment with family.
that is a great site! I check it regularly for sex offenders in our area (i have two young daughters and like to keep tabs on our area because it is one of my biggest fears!). anyway, its great to know who you need to be looking out for in your area!
if this criminal had actually served his terms, both of them , Mr. Milner would be alive today..... seems like we are hearing more of this lately. wonder how to correct this.....HMMMMMMMM. doesnt seem complicated to me.
I have known Phillip for over a year. he is a meek and humble person. I don't fault him for his actions. He tried to reach out to his family and friends and they turned thier back on him. So he turned back to drugs. Every time i spoke to Phillip I would ask him to keep it in the road. He called me one day and told me, "Rongie I din't keep it in the road". I knew then he was back on drugs.I know this does not justify what he did was right. I blame it on the crack cocain, family, and friends.
First of all I want give my deepest condolences to the Milner family for their lost. Phillip will be tried by man, but GOD is the true judge. His family was with him all the way, its a known fact. When he was released(NOT 5 WEEKS AGO!!!) his family was there. He chose that path. He is a grown man and he made his choice, not his family.
I agree do not blame it on his family. Talk about shit that you do know because I am a close family member and am very remoresful for the family of Mr. Milner. And for you to have the audacity to say that family and friends turned their back on him, where the hell was you? You probably was someone where getting high with him.
Phillip needs to be punished for his action. Only God can judge. But don't you dare blame it on FAMILY. Blame it on fake ass friends for introducing him to a good time DRUGS!!!
Everyone has choices. He is responsible for his own actions. How could you even try to justify what he did or blame his family? Rongie, you are an idiot.
In response to your comment "Rongie" how ignorant do you sound? Are you a crackhead as well? Phillip is a grown man. When he was released from prison his father and his girlfriend took him in and his uncle gave him a job. He had money, a roof over his head, and a car to drive, and clothes on his back. He had a very nice life in Augusta with his family. Turning to drugs was a decision he made on his own. Even if his family was not there for him, he should think about the lives he has destroyed. He will not be around to see his children nor will Mr. Milner be around to see his family. Phillip brought this on himself. How dare you blame his actions on his family. You need to mind your own business and keep your husband out of the streets.
Do you know who the ring belonged to? I heard it belonged to the girlfriend. I am so thankful to GOD my hero for the quickness of this arrest. Also I heard at the funeral home last night that they had made another arrest. Bubba was doing what he always did, making a living for his family. We love you BUBBA and you can R.I.P now. I just wished they would let Bubba's family and friends beat the holy ---- out of these guys.
Thank God! im glad to see how fast they got him,now lets save the time and money to go through court and take him by the funeral to see his wife and kids standing there with their world tore apart and his mother and ALL HIS FRIENDS and then when he gets it,when he really gets it we can drag his ass in the woods and beat him to death.i know,i know, someone will say thiats wrong but allow me to say that the Bible backs me in thought here(at least a little) with "AN EYE FOR AN EYE"
I went to school with this person. He has always been very violent with a volatile temper. He has always been very much a bully. He used to beat one of his ex-girlfriends when they were both just teenagers. She would have black eyes and busted lips. He has a cousin who is strung out on drugs, too and that cousin is wreaking havoc in town. Sad.
glad to hear that he was caught and hopfully justice will be serve ....hopefully he will get needle stuck in his arm but the chair would hurt a lot more... but oh thats inhumane and we just cant do that can we he need the same pain as william got
Unfortunately we will spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a trail and upkeep for this person in a prison for many years. Save the money and give the death penalty quickly. What good comes out of waiting 10 or so years to finally execute someone, just a waste of money. If criminals were executed within a year or two of their crimes then they might understand there are consequences to pay. If I were to read a story today about an execution of murderer that happened 20 years ago it wouldn't stand out as much as an execution of a murderer that just happened last year.
I have known phillip for about a year and he always was a good person around me and my kids he always came around to help if I ever had a problems he never gave me a bad feeling I can't say he was right for what he did but a life for a life will never bring mr milner back we should remember to leave it and gods hands
I think there are just some ignorant people in this world. If Mr. Milner was black thats right i said it. Would you still feel this way. My answer is no. This proves America is still stuck in the 60s.
Green, Black, White or Pink with Purple dotts, NO one has the right to take a Life. If he had spent his time working like most hard working Americans he would not have had to rob this place for $100. I grew up with Bubba, I know him and his family he was a wonderful person and worked hard for what he had.
Here we go again with the race card. I'm white. I have several friends, good friends in every sense of the term, that are black. If William was black and the killer was white, I'd still say he should get the needle. You are the one stuck in the 60's. Grow up and see it for what it is: a senseless murder, and killer needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Let me start out saying that I have a lot of black friends also. They are very hard working people, but if one of them had ever killed anyone I'd say give them the same treatment. I am not by any sorts prejudice, white people should also get what's coming to them if they choose to kill someone. Bubba lost his life for $100.00. I have a niece and nephew in prison right now for making the wrong choices, they didn't kill anyone, but in the same sense they are serving the max for their crimes. That's what it all boils down to that the time should fit the crime. Please let's stop with all the drama of black, white, red, yellow, cause in
GOD'S eyes we are all the same. What does it matter that Bubba was white, it was wrong.
You better believe I would. The song goes like this: Jesus loves the little children all the children of the world, red and yellow black or white they are precious in his sight, Jesus loves the children of the world. I get tired of hearing these kinds of comments. Anybody that kills should be persecuted to the fullest. Yes Mr. Milner was white, and yes he was murdered by a black man, but what does that have to do with anything, whites kill whites and blacks kill blacks so please just remember families at these times and forget what race was involved.
I still cannot get over the visual of a person using a piece of wood to beat a man to death. That is such a terrible, up close, violent death.
Does that clarify things to anyone reading this blog?
Has anybody noticed that the 2 meth addicts were white? All I can say as a white person give them the same as a murderer cause they could have very well killed somebody with this b.s. of a drug.
#16 I agree %100.If they get caught dealing anything harder than weed, to include prescription medication; they should get life without parole. Unfortunately we have a very liberal justice system and that will never happen.
Ms. Augusta...You really made me quite angry with your comment. I am a proud black woman who happened to grow up in the 60's and I remember what it was like back then even though I was a little girl. You are stuck in a time warp lady. The only black people being discriminated against today are the ones who carry that big chip on their shoulders. You know what i'm talking about. Ya'll folks walking round here with your lip all poked out looking for some welfare with your 24" rims spinning round. Dr. King would be rolling over in his grave if he could see how foolish the black youth are today. If you don't like it here, go on back to Africa. But let me tell you something before you go. I went there and took my kids a few years back...It ain't all that honey. Them folks are starvin, sick and without a roof over their heads. You ain't got it that bad over here, no matter what your circumstances. So, get a clue and shut up.
.....Sorry for the ranting folks...and my respects to the Milner family. Your family are in my prayers.
You're a voice of reason, Ms. Barnesville.
Thanks for commenting.

Yes this man was killed and my deepest sympathy goes out to his family. I didn't know him nor the black man, but don't put all black people in this mess. Just because we are black doesn't mean were from Africa. If you have a problem with the person that made the comment. Then you need to take it out on them. Everybody is not riding on 20 inch rims and on welfare. I am a hard working black woman and my husband and I have well manner children that I teach right from wrong. If you see where I live and what we drive, doesn't mean we sell drugs.I am against anything that is not right in God eyes. People have not because they ask not. I put God first in everything I do. I'm not making excuse for no one. If you right you right and if you wrong you wrong. You never know, Ms. Black Africa American Queen might be the one who have to save your life or anyone in your family.Let's all be swift to hear and slow to speak.
I found that statement unequivocally untrue. I would love to know the part of Africa that you visited?
I've been to South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria. Not all of Africa is primitive. I am not negating the fact that there are people in Africa that live in abject poverty but the same can be said for parts of Asia, Eastern Europe, and South America.
thanks so much for telling stuck in the sixties how things are,i very much so agree with you i grew up with bubba and i've never met a sweeter person,he was kind to all, color didn't matter to him either, and for her to go there,is disgraceful for not only bubba's family, but for the black people also she needs to read her bible.have a blessed day
I say put him in a cell with the Yost fellow and let them have it out. 2x4 verses baseball bat. (maybe the meth heads will walk between them while their at it)
I agreea and disagree with your comments. Why stereo type? I am also a black female. Black people are not the only people riding around with 24" rims. As far as I can see there are several ethinic groups trying to be pimped out and on welfare.
And you don't have to go to Africa to starve. Look around where you are today. If the economy doesn't get better this will be Africa.
I am a proud white American woman who happens to teach kindergarten students in this area. While I have many black friends, and my son's godparents are a black family I've known since my childhood, it never ceases to amaze me at the stupidity of someone saying "if he were white, you wouldn't feel the same" or vice versa. EVERY DAY, some of my students look at me and tell me that I cannot tell them what to do because I am white and they are black. Since when does the color of our skin have anything to do with justice or being able to teach or ANYTHING at all?!? Kenneth Yost and Jennifer Clark, both white people, are in jail for murdering a white man. This black man, Phillip Foster, is in jail for murdering a white man. People, look around you. It doesn't matter what the color of someone's skin is--you commit murder, you should get the death penalty. I would love it if they had the electric chair or public hangings to put an end to this madness. However, I live in the real world and know that senseless acts, regardless of race, will continue to go on. It makes me sick to hear someone say it's all about race. NO, IT'S ALL ABOUT CHOICES THAT WE MAKE!! My prayers are with Donald Clark's family and William Milner's family because these 2 young men died because of someone else's choices, not because of their skin color. May God, whichever one you believe in, have mercy on your soul.
Number 22 what was your purpose in submitting your opionion? That was the biggest waste of my time.. Growing up as a black women, school is the main reason black childern show racism.. From reading books like To kill a mockingbird, watching movies like roots, and mississippi burning... and the stories they have in the hisory books.. The school system basically teaches racism.. I'm not a raciset at all, half on my friends are white. As far as you and your thoughts of punishment, thats just to much... I understand your responsible for your actions , but the electric chair.... 1900"s western hangings, thats just crazy, if it was your family member or your child would you want to watch them get their brain fried, or would you like to see them dangling over the town of barnesville??? I think not, so you might wont to rethink that, and for future refrecences never apply for a job with the law, you are not a good canidate for that position.
#23, you are indeed 'clueless'. Did you not read #22's entire post? You must have missed the line in all caps. It IS all about the choices we make. Life is nothing more than a bunch of choices. Your comments about racism being taught in school is a bunch of bunk. Racism is taught at home. School tries to undo a lot of the damage ill informed parents push off on their kids. I have black friends. Your white friends; you ever been to their house? Ever ate dinner with them? Ever snoozed in their recliner? Until you can answer 'yes' to these, they aren't 'friends', they're acquaintances. We all have a lot of those. I can answer 'yes', can you? No, I would not want to witness my loved one being electrocuted or hanged, so I hope and pray they never commit a heinous crime that justifies such. Some states may still allow the chair and public hangings, as lethal injection, I believe, is not country-wide. In other countries, they still use use the firing squad and public beheading. How's that for a crime deterrent?
#23..Your opinion was a bigger waste of my time. I'm all for the electric chair. I'm tired of my tax dollars being wasted on the worthless pieces of s**t. They deserve whatever they get. If we went back to an "eye for an eye" I guarantee most of these senseless acts of violence would stop. I also think teachers should be able to tear up some booties when they need too. Kids have no respect....which is taught at home.
Now racism is taught in the schools?? I think Iv heard it all now. Blame it on everybody else as usual.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! For all the teachers, paraprofessionals, and anyone else in the school systems, thank you! Respect should be taught at home, and racism is NOT taught in schools! Thank you for your input!
Right on Ms. Barnesville. Thank you for sharing your african experience. I too traveled to my peoples land with my parents many years ago and was saddened by the state of things over there. In some strange way, maybe it was the Lords will for our people to make that terrible voyage here and to suffer in slavery for years. I certainly was glad to step off that plane onto American soul. I was even more thankful for my warm bed and the roof over my head and food on the table. we have it so well here and so many of our black people don't even attempt to live up to their potential. it's sad. there's so many excuses for why we can't do better for ourselves...but that's all they are, excuses.
I to agree with the chair! I also agree a lot more with the public hangings! And as for a lack of respect on the part of young kids these days, OMG. Tear their butts up where ever and when ever needed. Bleeding hearts can be thanked for all of this and most of those bleeding hearts dont even have kids.
I get my childern where and when they get out of line. So if u c someone gettin on childern don't call tha police let them handle it. U say tear their butts up but every parent ain't like me and you. Some people like calling childern services on other parents for doing just that tearing their butts up.
Wow
This comes as a shock to me knowing philip for the last year. What really surprises me is that most of you have done exactly what society as a hole has done to all blacks "quick to judge". If he's wrong, then yes let him pay for it. But if he not guilty,Why are you prejudging him. Does he not deserve the same rights to due process like you and I. Some of you totally missed the boat here. This is a mans life and youre using this forum to vent your personal problems. Wow,self-centered does not say enough. Hope the truth comes out and the his family get the justice they deserve. If Philip is innocent I hope he wont have selfcentered, judgemental people like yourself on his jury. My respects to the Milner family.
wow again...because what rights did he give my friend Bubba, who i knew for over 13 years. So that means nothing to me when you know someone for a year.I knew Bubba so well and his family and friends. If this strung out killer would have stopped attacking for 3 minutes(thats all it would have took) he would have got money and a friend out of Bubba. He attacked and gave no chance to this man who was working and providing a life for his kids and family.Career criminal and yes black, but who cares. He stole the life of a good man,a son,a father,a husband, and the best friend to many.So i wish no only pain for this man but a violent death and hop to see an eye for an eye,as the Bible tells us..his friends and family should be standing over his grave and sad with their hearts torn out just like Bubba's had to do.if this man would have not been such a criminal and such a bum then he would have been working and not out so late prowling the streets looking for another victim.i vote electric chair and let his wife pull the switch!
It does not matter if your white, black, purple, green, yellow. It gives no the rights take some ones life. This man was just released from jail and he goes and robs the store my uncle worked at then killed HIM FOR JUST 100.00. How was he raised. What kind of morals did his parnets set forth him. This is the third murder in Barnsville in the last three months.I don't care if his family was there when he got out or helped him, It's the fact he took a life that god put on this earth. I do hope God has plans for this man who committed such an act. towards my uncle whom had a Wife, daughter, two sons. Think what he had to live for. This other man who killed him did'nt bother to think. Only took action. He should suffer in pain for the rest of life as will my family for we have to live with out for the rest of OUR LIVES!!!!!!! I think the ploice for getting him so soon before he could have taken some elses life or robbed them. This man deserves nothing more but the death pently. He took a life therefor he should have his taken. R.I.P UNCLE BUBBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW, i wonder what his family think's of him now. I mean he was already a jail bird. But now he killed some one for a whopping 100.00. I would ashamed to know him much less be related to the sorry S.O.B.
Someone on here posted that we rush to judgment on the blacks - sort of like we did with Brian Nichols, right - that was a 2 million dollar over 2 years, rush to judgement. I am so sick and tired of hearing this "poor blacks" thing. We (by the way I am black) have more opportunities today than our ancestors ever had - but that is not enough. This man killed another human being - not to mention the fact he was just released from prison for robbery. Stop defending and recognize the problem. I guess it is easier to stand on the street corner, on the first of the month go pickup your government check and food stamps than it is to have a career (oh, some do have a criminal career, excuse me).
I am soooo in shock right now!!! I just found out that one of my best high school friends was murdered. I have known Bubba for a long time. He was a GREAT FRIEND TO me and our friends. There were five of us throughout high school that if you seen one of us, the others were near by. I want to extend my greatest sympathy's to his wife, which I did'nt know, but would be honored to, his children, his mom and dad which I did know. I hurt deeply today to know such a great man, son, husband, and father is no longer with us. I know he is with GOD and in a much better place. Bubba, we will never forget you. Your memories will be with us forever!! GOD BLESS TO HIS FAMILY and THANK YOU GOD for the capture of this murderer. May you punish him as he should be for the rest of his life for such a senseless murder he committed...
