The Lamar County Trojans smoked the NE Macon Raiders 48-0 in a region contest Friday at Trojan Field.

Realtime scoring from the game was provided by Walter Geiger.

11:23 2nd: Lamar 7-0. Tevin Childs 1-yd TD run. Tyler Scandrett PAT.

2:41 2nd: Lamar 14-0. Maurice Bloodser 24-yd TD pass to Jarvis Merritt. Scandrett PAT.

My child says they just play games all day in your room and that you stay on the cell phone talking about court and your boyfriends ex and how you don't like her and that you just got his baby from her so you don't have to pay child support. Is this true?

i was there scouting the qb for mundys mill,At a full padded camp at salem they have a great amount to do with i saw LC move the ball against them which is a pretty good defense in 5aaaaa and move and score on troup countys defense which have several division one commits,Lc is very good team don't be suprise if they make a deep run in the playoffs. I'll be checking on them.

Are you asking why the best athletes get the starting positions? Seems to be an easy question to answer.... Besides, if the team keeps this type of play up it will mean far more play time for the 2nd and 3rd team than they would ever normally see.

They start because they are the two hardest working players on the team. They are in shape enough to play both sides of the ball. I personally like that we play our best players, play to win.

There are other players with talent, but it also takes dedication, hardwork, and passion for the game. That's where some of the "other" talented players fall short.

I think that all the Trojan players are hard working players as stated above they are not the whole team they couldn't do what they do without the other 9 players on the field with them and as far as dedication and passion for the game when seniors and juniors are constantly sitting on the sideline this tear down their morale and makes them not as passionate for the game. No strikes against them they are good student athletes, but no parent should have to go and talk to the coaches about their junior or senior playtime when the coach know they to are talented,passion, and are hardworking as well.

The only way a team will win and have much success is to have the most talented players in the game. If other players are upset about "playtime", then they should go play recreation league. At the high school level, there is no promised playtime. Get over it. Its just the way life is, there will always be someone better, faster, stronger, smarter than you.

When did the time come when people thought they were entitled to playing time due to age? I can tell you from experience that older players are often asked to sacrafice position or something wlse for the betterment of the team. Many times these players are unwilling to do so, so they lose out. Other times someone better just comes along. Coaches have to put the best players they can on the field. If a coach for any other reason sits a player who has otherwise earned their spot, then they need to be dealt with. If, however, a player is out for the reasons I mentioned, then they need to check themselves, and improve.

Well I don't have to think, I know all the trojan football players are not hard working. Some try to sneak by, others do the minimum. Then you have the kids who do everything that is asked of them and then more on their own. They are self-driven. They are in the weight room every day its open, not just the minumum workouts that are required. They go to individual football camps, combines, and any where else they can work to get better. They don't need mom or dad crying to the coach.

I am very proud of this football team and see the potential for the greatest Trojan team ever. But the team is only as good as everyone on it. Not just one or two players but every single one of them. You can only put 11 kids on the field at a time. The coaching staff was hired to win and in order to win they have to put the best 11 players they have on the field. I think they are doing a great job with that. Someone stated that "no parent should have to go and talk to the coaches about their junior or senior playtime". No they shouldn't have to nor should they. This is not recreation ball where you pay for your kid to play and the coaches are volunteers. The athletic department and boosters spare no expense in equipping these young men to be the best they can be with little or no cost to them or their parents. By the same token, the coaches are paid to do a job and that is to win. This is their livelihood. If they don't produce, they are out of a job and we all know how precious jobs are these days. Too many times, I see people who come to games just to see their child perform. Whether its on the team, the band or as a cheerleader. And when their kid is done participating they never darken the doors of the stadium again. Don't be selfish folks. We got a good thing going here and it's getting better and better. For those of you in the community who don't come out to the games, for whatever reason, you're really missing out on a great community experience. I challenge everyone to come to the next home game against Putname County on Friday, Sept. 23. It's going to be a huge game and you won't be disappointed.

The football team is doing fantastic and the coaches are doing a great job.

The band is awesome, too! What a great show they put on at half time. Kudos to Mrs. Green and the band!

Hey PC, it's o.k. if that's you. You are a true fan of your home team. It should be a good game. You're right, the guy can run, and it will be very difficult for L.C. to stop him. Most people around here look more forward to playing Pike County, but I'm stoked about the other P.C. See you at the game.

That's just standings based on won-loss. Lamar is at the top because of most points scored.There are 14 teams with bo losses (2 have ties) including most of the true top ten in the state. It's highly doubtful L.C. could beat any of them on the field. The only one on the schedule is Morgan County. Don't ever look at Max Preps for true rankings. However, great job L.C. for overpowering the teams on the schedule so far.

I go to every game,haven't missed but a couple over the past few years.Nick Heminger isn't the best player on the team..he plays with tons of heart,and he is very good,but not the best.The best player on the team wears #14.This will be seen next year,when he is the QB.I will say that Nick Heminger is one heck of a tackler though and can get off a block better than almost any high school football player i have ever seen.I don't see why he won't go play for a AA college somewhere.

The Trojans are a very good football team.What is gonna be there downfall is the fact that they miss too many tackles,WAY too many penalties,and well to be honest the QB is really just a running back,because his throwing skills could be matched by almost anyone.What I am trying to say is,he can't pass.If the Trojans had any kind of passing game,oh boy oh boy.they might be able to stand with The team from Rome,Ga(Buford).

There is a great thing happening in Lamar County,mostly all of the athletics in this town compete for wins and playoff births.I am loving what I see,especially on friday nights.Come to Trojan Field Sept.23,2011 at 7:30 and see for yourself,better yet travel to Morgan County this friday Sept,16 and see this is gonna be a big game before a huge game,plus my buddy that I travel with...we need all the voices/noise/visitors side disturbances we can get.

Well mr. Burk obvioulsly youre wrong about the qb he is a very accurate passer and dual threat if hes not why is he getting recruited by ga state wofford princeton fort valley and others to play qb and 14 is a very good corner came in 2nd only to his brother at a skill camp at uga where a lot of top athletes were at and Lamar has a great chance to be real good this year and they had success moving the ball on troup county one of the best defenses in state and mundy mills a 5AAAAA school so get your facts straight

The reason is cause were a running team last year threw for over a 1,300 and rush for over 1,000 were averaging 250 plus on the ground this season so of course its limited whats the ol saying if it aint broke don't fix it

if you average 1300 yards through 10 games,well thats only 130 yards a game passing,when last year all Lamar County did was pass.his rushing yards came from him scrambling and the designed running plays.this season you're right LC isn't a pass first team,but like M.S. said 7 for 20 with 110 yards in 3 games.not very good.not very good at all,and if any of you people paid attention there are open recievers everyhwere every time they run a passing play,but our fantastic running back at the qb position usually decides to do a running across his body flunk,that falls to the ground or sails 15-20 yards past the recievers.so you people keep telling me to get my facts straight I have mine straight I see with my own 2 eyes what I am talking about.I'll always be a LC fan and I will always have an opinion and state my opinion of what I see needs to be fixed.

oh and for the record one of Mr.Burk's children did play(myself).I graduated in 04.not much I can do except voice my opinion about this team.

Mrs.Green you are doing great with the band. I only pay $8.00 just to see you all perform. The football team is doing good too, but the band is just the best part of going to the game. They are getting better year by year. Mrs.Collins was not a good band director, AT ALL. Mrs.Green you are doing a fantastic job with the band. Keep up the good work with the Lamar County Trojan Band.

Whatever gets you out to Trojan Field on Friday nights. The band, cheerleaders and football team are all doing a great job and are beginning to show signs of being top notch and going on to do greater things. But remember, without the football game there is no halftime show or nothing to cheer for.

to the scout..well it's probably alot easier to be accurate in a passing league with no pressure at all,than a game where it's more than 7 on 7.

At khris he didnt say a passing league camp he said full padded camp which is 11 on 11 so yea get your facts straight at the end of the day like he said he is bein recruited as qb by some division 1 schools so your opinion really doesn't thats why they are scouts and you are a fan unless you can do better don't criticize encourage the young man And by the way they played 11 games last year not 13 And i said over 1300 yards so its about 150-160 yards passing a game

apparently you didn't read what he said,it didn't say anything about 11 on 11 full pad camp,mainly because that doesn't happen.and 11 games with 1300 plus yards is gonna make for a worse average per game,so you're really only making yourself look like an idiot.the only time they have 11 on 11 full pads against another team is a scrimmage or a game.you're just trying to make yourself sound like you know but you don't.

I don't get why people are trying to tell me to be quiet.I have the nads to put my name up there,like it or not this a public blog site where you voice your opinion and hide behind a name,thats actually my name,I have said nothing harmful or vindictive to these kids(just some criticism towards a player,he should probably get used to that if he is going to play ball somewhere like a D-1,because it's gonna happen every time they play.even when they win).the football team is one of the best I have seen in a long time.if they fix their problems(penalties and missed tackles),then they have the oppotunity to go far this year.I'm done with this because apparently it's stupid to voice your opinion.I'll be back on the Morgan County game news story though,until then Go Blue.

Ijust read where "the scout" said that LC was in salem for an 11 on 11 full padded camp..believe me I am going to do my research because an 11 on 11 padded camp makes absolutely no sense,why would you take your whole team to a padded camp,when you have barely had practice time.I may be wrong about the camp and if I am I'll admit it.I have for 1 never heard of 11 on 11,and don't see why yould do that and risk your players getting injured,just makes no sense to me.

It makes no sense to you because you are an idiot who spouts that you know something,but you don't know jack. 11 on 11 padded camps happen throughout the summer in Georgia and other states. The purpose is to get extra full contact work against other schools. It is EXTREMELY helpful, and might have a lot to do with the team's hot start. But no, you have it all figured out. Go back to whatever hole you crawled out of and have a nice day!

actually 11 full padded camp did happen ask coach strickland yourself this was their first year allowing it and the scout is right i look up bloodser stats he actuatly had 1525 yards passing
