A ball boy since he could walk, Trojan sophomore kicker Tyler Scandrett boomed a 38-yard field goal in overtime Friday night to propel the Lamar County Trojans to a 38-35 win over Morgan County in a key region contest.

Realtime scoring from Madison was provided by Walter Geiger.

11:431st: Lamar 7-0. Antwan Wallace 95 -yd opening kick return for TD. Scandrett PAT.

5:46 1st: 7-7. Morgan 1-yd run. PAT good.

4:37 1st: Lamar 14-7. Lawrence Austin 69-yd. TD run. Scandrett PAT.

4:56 2nd: Lamar 21-7. Lance Austin 68-yd. TD run. Scandrett PAT.

1:36 2nd: Lamar 21-14. Morgan 42-yd. TD on interception return. PAT good.

For the record, I did not make any public predictions for this or any other games. I always pull for the Trojans to win but I never make a public prediction. If you email me, I will tell you what I think but I won't make a prediction in public forum. Thanks!

Wish I had been there. Thanks for the scoring updates Walter. I had to kick Douglas off the computer every 15 minutes last night. I feel a very special season coming on. Go Trojans!

My bad it was 2006 that they went 4-0 and then finished 6-4.

Trojans opened the 2006 season 4-0. Last time Lamar opened 5-0 was 2002. They went on to finish the regular season 9-0 but lost to Albany in the first round of the playoffs.

Great win Friday night but now time to move on. We got a huge one at Trojan Field this Friday night against Putnam County. The War Eagles beat us last year in Eatonton and went on to win the region. They are 3-1 right now, their only loss coming to 10th ranked Dublin by a touchdown. We need every able bodied resident of Lamar County to show up Friday night and help shake down the thunder. Time to get loud and be proud.

to everyone that comes...BRING NOISEMAKERS...shakers,cowbells,voices,anything and everything to make as much noise as possible..this is a big one,let's create a mass ruckus,tapping coke bottle on the metal bleachers with the cap still on is very loud a whole stadium full of that will be super-loud.

It's really time for a change in Leadership in the School System. Starting with the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent (Golf Master)and the HS Principal! Why is the HS principal making so much money? He is the only principal without a Doctoral Degree!

Simple solution. Don't sit near her. She is excited about her boys and the team. And she has the right to express it any way she pleases just like you have the right to come on here and call her out on it. Maybe if you'd get just as loud and proud of our Trojans you wouldn't be so uptight.

Oh yeah, and her boys ARE all that and more. I'd hate to have to play without them.

yeah they only accounted for 251 yards of offense and 4 touchdowns and combined for 9 tackles on defense. I agree they are not all that.

The Lamar County High School Athletic Department is asking everyone to wear navy to the game against Putnam County Friday night as the Trojans send the War Eagles home with the blues. Navy LC Shirts (YS-3XL) will be available at Lamar County High School Thursday (09/22/11) and Friday(9/23/11) in room 106.

I love sitting close to mrs austin she is a proud mom and huge trojan fan. I see nothing wrong with that. If you don't like it I world suggest you not sit anywhere close to the 50 yard line because we have a very large group of proud trojan fans that like to get loud! Hope all the stands will be rocking friday night. Go Big Blue!

Not sure if they have any for sale but you can try contacting Coach Scandrett at the high school or check with the Gridiron Club members at the concession stand at the game.

Those of you complaining about Mrs. Austin must not have kids of your own? and if you do then you must be ashamed of them? Its pathetic that such high school drama is going on here. "I dont like her.." "She's too loud.." Her boys ARE something, they are respectful, talented and goal oriented. Jealousy is not an attractive trait. I'm proud to call her a part of the Trojan Family.

Anyone know what our running backs run in the 40? Especially the Austins. I see where Marteze Waller (Putnam) runs between 4.5-4.7.

not too impressive- Big Shack runs it under 5 sec so I'm sure the Austin boys are much faster

Lance had ran a 4.3 at the combine in forsyth but slipped so he got a 4.4 his brother is like 4.5 #4 #7 #15 are around a 4.5 even Big #79 ran a 4.9
