The murder trial of Teresa Burousas was completed Tuesday in Pike superior court with Judge Quillian Baldwin on the bench. He found her guilty of voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm in commission of a crime. Burousas was sentenced to 20 years with 10 years to serve in prison and 10 years on probation with credit for the two years she has already served.
This case has had alot of strange events, in my estimation.
I thought it had been adjudicated. It certainly took a long time. I felt the Sentence was Light, based on the narrative of the events that took place. I guess Lawyers and Judges have a different concept of Justice, compared to what I feel about this case.
Where will she be sent to serve her term?
Will there be further charges for the forged check? Did she get the insurance money from the house? What are the conditions of the probation once she's released. Don't murder anyone else. How very sad for the family of Buzz.
First of all Judge Baldwin should be disbarred, he is a disgrace to the justice system! Anyone who meets someone at the end of the driveway with a gun concealed behind her back saying she has a surprise and then shoots him has got to be premeditated murder!! One day she will get her just reward and I only hope Judge Baldwin does to. He should hide his face in shame!! My question is " How much did "Daddy" pad your pocketbook for this decision???? Just hope someone gets to her in prision!!!!!!
And, yes, Teresa, I hope you realize who this is!!!! You took the life of the nicest man anyone could ever know.....and I've know him all his life! Hope you enjoy your new girlfriends the next 8 years!!!
I guess her attorney did his job well.
She ditched a harsher sentence and will be out in 8, I guess.
We will never know the truth of their marriage, and it's not our place to guess.
I'm sorry for his family & friends.
Let's face the truth... if this had been a man killing his wife, he would have been facing the needle. Now this "abused wife" gets 8 yrs...WTF? How come no one has heard of this "abuse" until the trial? hmmmmmmmm
I think it's funny as he!!. The former judge Burousas was an arrogant, self serving, A-Hole. Now the same type of judge has let the killer of his son off with a slap on the wrist! Maybe history will just keep repeating itself until these judges figure out that $hit does roll down hill and although they may not be at the bottom, someone they know may be.
If Judge Burousas was still with us and allowed to respond to this comment it might be ok, but this statement is truly uncalled for.
I'm sure you wouldn't want your deceased family member called such names. We will all have to answer someday, some just earlier than others.
why doesn't her father get anything for helping conceal the murder? he obviously had his hand it too... maybe he's the one who got the insurance money... funny how days after the house mysteriously bursts into flames...
