The Lamar County Trojans routed the Monticello Hurricanes 48-6 Friday night at Trojan Field. Lamar notched the first 10-win regular season in school history and claimed the Region 4AA crown. They will host Bleckley County November 11 in the first round of the state playoffs. Lamar beat Bleckley 27-21 in Cochran in the first game of the season.
Drenched in Powerade from a celebratory, postgame bath, Trojan head coach Jason Strickland told his team, "You have changed this community!".

I've also heard a couple of the board members are afraid his success will command a bigger contract which they don't want to pay. The man is well worth every penny he makes and more, in my opinion. He told his team Friday night that they have "changed this community" and that is so true. Every week more and more people are jumping on the Trojan Nation bandwagon.
