Sarah Byrd Alford, 61, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2011. Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 6 p.m. at Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family Tuesday, Dec. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

I never thought I could miss someone so much. I am really having a difficult time even though I know she is better off. Ya'll were great friends. Hope to stay in touch. Love,

Sarah Byrd Alford was more than just my best friend. She meant the world to me and I did everything I could to help her get better but when it is your time there is not much anyone can do about it. I miss her phone calls and the time that we spent together. Not a day went by that we didn't talk on the phone or see each other. My life will not be the same with out her but I am glad her suffering is over and know that one day we will be together again. I miss you so much Sarah and I will forever love you.
