A man was shot Wednesday night during an altercation with family members at a residence on Abbott Road here.

It's not just this town, it's this world.
I have to wonder if we're in the "last days."
The highly inebriated victim who basically shot himself is lucky. Perhaps this will be his wake up call.
And maybe the shotgun should not be in the house. If there are children there, I shudder to think of an evening in that home.

I will be contacting the Herald Gazette to determine the IP address of your computer and once you are located, you will be sued for slander. This character assassination has to stop.

Good luck with that. Even if they have the IP, thats all it is, you would have to contact the ISP to get the persons name and address. You will have to obtain a warrant and ISP's only hold the IP data for around 30 days. Recording industry been doing this for years and I some how doubt you have the kind of money to throw at the issue as they do.

It's freedom of speech no matter what the person said. If you tried to sue for slander then every person in America could do the same thing every minute of the day on the net blogs in the world. All the HG has to do is remove the comment above which they always do. Besides the HG can't give away IP addy's cause it's against the law and also they have no idea where any comments are made on here are from in the county. town or other surroudning communities.

Just to let you all know those CHILDREN in that home are well taken care of and you can not blame a father for protecting his children!! When someone shows up at your door Family or not you do what you have to do to protect your Children. Never say what you will or will not do until you come face to face with that situation and you can not say "that will not happen to my Family" because you never know. Im pretty sure that no one in this world is perfect. God Bless.

Really family member? Children just plain shouldn't have to see this kind of crap in their lives period.
If this highly inebriated person is a threat to your home, march right downtown, do not pass go, and take out a protective order immediately.
And then let those children know that steps have been taken so they don't have to live a fearful night again. Legal steps that don't require screaming, shotgun waving and bullets discharging.
