One time when I wish cowards would use a real identity. However, real men don’t have to be afraid to hide – do they? Sorry; I guess I’m not addressing a real man.
I thought the same thing at first GM. But after some thought, $25 a year isn't that much. Especially when this site/paper is about the only way to keep up with what the BOZOS in our County Commission are doing. Walter, Can I keep my screen name? Understand that I need to keep some anonymity to remain employed. LOL
I have recently moved out of town and I miss reading the paper. With an online subscription is the entire paper available or just main stories? Thank you.
Even though we still get a real paper delivered to house, I like reading the eEdition. You would probably like a subscription and reading the eEdition online.
So will there actually be news or mostly the get people to comment crap type stories? I knew it was only a matter of time before we were asked to pay. I check this site daily because sometimes important breaking news is reported but many days it can be pretty ridiculous. Got to wonder what the village idiots that make all the negative comments about everything will do.
I would be glad to subscribe only if someone could ensure there will be a comment policy that all subscribers agree to use.
For example below is a blog comment policy from a blog I follow. Their policy keeps the comments at a level of respectful discussions rather than name calling attacks that happens very often on this site.
___________'s comment policy is pretty cut and dried. It is designed to keep conversations honest and interesting, but prevent them for spiraling into anonymous attacks on each other.
Any comments including personal insults or attacks will be edited or removed, depending on the severity. _______ has the final say on all such matters, though is always open to challenges.
The “insult threshold” is highest for public figures and lowest for minors.
Additionally, any comments containing overtly sexual, obscene or offensive language will be removed immediately.
Well the name of the game is Money, Money, Money !
Seems to me like they would have to hire 5 more employees just to keep the comments down to just that.
By the time we get the news it is old hat any way.
Just wondering how many devices a subscription is valid on? I access the site on my work pc, home occur, smartphone and i-pad. Hope I don't you need a subscription for each...
I have a subscription now and it is great! I can read the paper at my convenience and I think the subscription rate is fair considering the online version comes with printed version for reading when not at my computer.
Thanks Walter!
Julia
PS: As to the blog, I wish there were something where Anon (along with all its other Anonymous, etc.) would be done away with. People have to use at least screen names on most forums these days. If people had to join with a screen name and password, a lot of the crap on here would begin to improve I bet :)
Amen, I would love to see the blog cleaned up from anonymous cowards. If you've got something bad to say about something or someone then you should have to write your name.
hmmmmmmm........i am a subscriber----but won't this hurt as far as people not seeing the adds on here???,,,,,,,i know i lot of people look at yard sale adds, for sale adds etc, that never buy a paper--also when people buy add sapce on the oline section--they lose a huge amount of viewers by this ;-(
Well, I wonder if those who place ads on this site will be given lower advertising rates? They will not be reaching the same number of people now, so less money should be paid in advertising I suspect. The site is going to go way down in rankings now also, paid services don't get indexed by search engines like free content does. This should concern advertisers greatly.
Geez the blogs were meant for people to voice their opinions not everything should be sensored just because someone might get their wittle feelings hurt.
"If people had to join with a screen name and password, a lot of the crap on here would begin to improve I bet "
What part of free speech are you having problems understanding?
There would be retaliation against respondents if real names were used. The Anon option allows for real opinions to be brought forth. The fact you don't like it is irrelevant.
Use of a real name is not necessary. I have many screen names. I consistently use cb on this site and it is no different than using "anonymous" when posting.
I completely agree with Julia. There is currently a high level of insulting, name calling, and anonymous attacks. I was called a "dumb arse" just the other day on this site. Was that really necessary for the "Anon" to voice an opinion???? Sure disagree with me and engage in a healthy discussion but don't insult me first. Any post that resorts to name calling, insulting, or attacking others loses all credibility in my book.
I am sure if regular readers knew that such behavior would not be tolerated they would more likely voice their opinion.
It's not about free speech it is about being respectful to others.

great post.but you must understand, your thinking too far above, you cant do that.my guess is the cult of rock springs has brought forth its power because someone said something about the mighty bennie.
Sir I beg to differ with you, I happen to be a member of that church and if you want to call a church that LOVES the Lord a cult then shame on you. I have never been so saddened by the jealousy of people in all my life. Sure people ARE human just as you and everyone else who has a comment regarding RS or my Pastor. But I will tell you this , the BODY of CHRIST in this church strives daily to help people come to know Christ Jesus, and to help those in need. How many have you helped lately ?
Why when something prospers for good do people feel they need to RIP it apart. If you don't like what's happening there or the people involved then what's so hard about going on about YOUR business. I pray if you want to BLOG about something or SOMEONE why don't you start in your OWN household . There are more things happening in this world than a BODY of BELIEVERS who are by the way ONLY HUMAN, but strive to make this mess of a world a better place. Please find someone else to pick on other than my Pastor and my wonderful CHURCH FAMILY. Be BLESSED sir ,,,,,,,
Cult members do tend to get over sensitive and try to make all of their actions seem right. They have even been known to use capital letters to get their "points" across. Go drink some more kool-aid, or should i say bennie-aid, Lisa....there's no other cult around here to pick on, so guess you are it.
to help people come to know jesus christ?pick someone else to bring people to other than some made up fictional being only written about in one book, written by,who knows how many different people.over who knows how many years and changed hundereds of times.
i can only agree with the person who says its most likely got something to do with a religious nut case some where.
oh and lisa,do your feet match?
It was the religious that put Jesus to death. Christianity is alive and well at Rock Springs. Cult members get sensitive about what and do what? Where is your meaning of the word "cult" coming from? Your "anonymous dictionary"? I think Lisa was standing up for what she knew was right. Kool Aid?? Wasn't that Jim Jones?? that moved his flock to an island, had them sign their property deeds over and cut off all communication from their family? That is a cult. Poor thing. I don't know what you have been smoking , but give it up, its killing too many of your brain cells and they do not reproduce. Helping people come to know Jesus Christ? #203.12 there is nothing fictional about the bible. Only those of you that do not believe it. I have accepted Christ as my personal Saviour. If I was wrong in my christian beliefs, it really wont matter , will it? But what if I am right. The fool hath said in his heart there is no God. Stop being a fool before it is too late.
Some can't help but be ignorant about the bible. They will be counted for when they meet the All Mighty one day. Instead of bashing someone just say a extra prayer for them to become a better person in his eyes.
We as a World are not allowed to talk baout God , which is ashame, they have taken him out of schools, dont want IN GOD WE TRUST On our money . Geeezzeee, to go back in time would be GREAT. WE all have our beliefs and i dont think it is right to bash someone due to the Beliefs they have, WE still have a choice to make with our lives, they havent taken that away! So i think alot of people need to consider other peoples feeling and act like they was raised with a little bit of compassion. I myself just started going to Rock Springs and i LOVE the warmth i get from the Church and the people and the all The Pastors, dont bash me because i feel the Presence of the Lord raise up in my heart. AS this is MY CHOICE to do so. I PRAY that the people that want to BASH the CHURCH or even the Pastor can sleep at night and never worry about the WRATH. Maybe you should consider stepping inside the Church. The Invitation is ALWAYS open!

Who would have thought
I purchase no other electronic media, so this one has to be added to the list.
Thanks.
