Thanks Mayor Banks for taking out the crossing at the city barn. It made dealing with this situation SOOOO much better as the train had every other crossing blocked while Barney Fife wrote his report.
The problem is that she is 88 and do pay attention. These old people need to get strict testing just like the young ones need to be tested stricter. The old timers would raise all kinds of hell if their AARP went up 3 dollars a year yet they are involved or cause a large number of wrecks each year. Folks, its not fun to tell a loved one that they dont need to drive anymore. Ive been there and done that. However, there is a time when they become a danger to others and themselves.
How many times has a old timer pulled out in front of you and you have had to slam your brakes on almost hitting them? They may have to have take stricter testing but that doesn't mean they still pay good enough attention to what's around them
The old timers as you put it have feelings just like you, just becasue they are old does not mean they shouldnt be driving. Had it been a teen ager or younger person how would your respons read. The important thing is noone was hurt and everyone is ok, did anyone think to find out if the one driving the train was blowing the horn and using the train signals.

Whether you are on the crossing or not.
