Amy Johanna Wright died Christmas Eve, bringing to a close a long, sad saga which began in February 1994.

Wright, who was 22 at the time, apparently resisted advances made by 19-year-old Jamie Smith at a home at 178 Crowder Street where Wright lived with a roommate.

Smith beat and strangled Wright in an upstairs bedroom and apparently thought she was dead.

She was my classmate. She was a beautiful young woman and I remeber her well from High School.

She was beautiful inside and out. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, as they have for the last 18 years. I cant begin to imagine the grief her parents have gone through. So very tragic.

I remember when this happened to Amy.
She was a beautiful young lady and was so strong and determined to live.
When I would go to heritage inn, her mom and dad was always there sitting by her side.
Her parents are the true meaning of parent hood and I know Amy knew they were with her through it all. I only wished all parents would stand beside their children. Love to you all for taking care of such an Angel!!!

And how nice of the Heritage Inn employee who was calling and texting the entire world within an hour of her death. Very classy ma'am.

That emplyee should be fired. That's releasing private and personal information, which I do believe is also against the law.

it's called PHI (Personal Health Information) which is now protected by HIPPA enacted back in 2003.

Privacy Rule
The effective compliance date of the Privacy Rule was April 14, 2003.

The employee of Heritage Inn must've gotten their information from someone else considering she was not a patient at Heritage Inn when she died. justsayin......

RIP to a beautiful soul. I am sure the family must be so terribly saddened yet at the same time relived to know she is no longer suffering.
