its so silly to even have an election in Lamar county.the people are so brained washed into the good ol boy mentality and can't think for themselves.they are to scared to stand on their own two feet.so sad.
you wonder why lamar county is 25 years behind the rest of the world and falling father behind each and every day.
You're so silly. Since you know who the good ole boys are, why dont you run so there wont be any confusion? No one but you has any common sense and apparently you have the special x-ray glasses needed to spot a good ol boy. You can personally catch lamar county up the 25 yrs you think we are lagging.
Wow...feel better? You know, if you removed yourself from being involved in Lamar County activities I have a feeling we would jump ahead 30 years. And I am certain the average IQ of the county would go up if you left.
why does it scare you folks so bad when someone points out how backwards Lamar County has been due to the Good'ol boys running the county for the last 50 years? Why are ya'll so terrified of stepping in to the present? it's realy not that hard,as a matter of fact it's kinda fun.grow up,give it a try.it wont hurt.

I dont think anyone is scared Wally. Why would we be? We will be stepping into the future with BRAD. Dont want to commit past mistakes again. Right Wally?
Sheila, why don't you just tend to your Pike County hometown business. You can't even vote here and we have enough drama going on here without your trash being posted here. Perhaps you should google "life" and get one!
Will not be for long and it cannot happen quick enough. Surprised that you have friends then again nothing surprises me any more. As far as people using your name now you know why a lot of us do not put our names on the posts.
FYI Tolley I can do the exact same about Buice then lets see who you vote for.

Toilet, I mean Tolley... whatever you go by....stay out of Lamar County politics. You don't know this candidate personally and you would only be spreading rumors and lies. This is serious business and you make light of it with your ridiculous comments. And your attempt to try to smear the good name of a decent young man who is candidate for public office is repulsive. You are sickening and I look forward to the day when your name will show up here no more!
Go for it. If you are like your buddy wally, your truth is gained from gossip and rumors.
Sorry to tell you but Joe made lots of friends that will never forget him. The only reason you are pro Joe is because of D johnson. Everyone else knows him for what he is and it wont be sheriff again.
Brad will make a great sheriff. He is very involved with the community and is very knowledgeable about the law. We need a change and I think he is the one to do it.
3.1, 3.2, 3.3...Why do you use Anonymous on the three consecutive comments that you posted? If you support a person for election, it seems like you would be proud to post your name.
Brad White will make an excellent sheriff. He is curteous, friendly and knows the law. I would be proud to call him sheriff. He will do Lamar County proud!
"Exactly what is wrong with Waller in your opinion?"
(1)Jailed an innocent man after the Milner police officer shooting for seven months.
(2)Used helicopter to search for a DOG (..operating cost $2000 per HOUR). When the police attack dog was killed by the Pippins after it was loose on their property, he arrested them for animal cruelty. Meanwhile tells other residents to shoot stray dogs as Georgia law allows.
(3)Excessive attention paid to I-75 which has only 15,000 feet within Lamar County, seeking Federal back pats and press releases. Meanwhile crime in the greater Barnesville area continues to worsen. Miami Florida ain't paying his salary.
Again the helicopter was used by the request of the city in which the dog belonged to. Lamar County did not pay for the operation costs of the helcopter. Sheesh you keep harping on your same old lies.
Larry is not the only sheriff to have deputies posted on I75. Joe had a crew out there while he was in office as well. Dont forget about the missing money under Joes watch
And while we're complaining how many of you got a letter from Jay Matthews saying you had not paid your fire assessment? I did, and I have my cancelled check and receipt. I filed it away and am just waiting for the next move.
IF SO MANY PPL ARE GETTIN NOTICES FOR NONPAYMENT OF THE FIRE FEE, WHERE DID OUR MONEY GO.I KNOW OF A HEAP OF PPL THAT HAVE GOTTEN NOTICES THAT HAVE CANCELED CHECKS TO PROVE PAYMENT.DID THEY EVEN KEEP RECORDS OR DID OUR MONEY PAY FOR THE ELEVATOR AT CITY HALL?????????/
Who in L.Co. believes that Mr. White would risk taking a bullet to the head to do his job in protecting the citizens of L.Co.? Being nice and kind to everyone doesn't make me safe.
Strange question. Just about every law enforcement officer takes that routine risk every day on the job. Brad White's long history as a law enforcement officer and Department Executive clearly point towards a man who will protect the citizens of Lamar County without compromise. "Nice and kind" is an apt term because Brad White is personable and approachable. So, while he is fearless on the job, he is also someone you can talk to.No law enforcement officer should take a bullet in the line of work, but that is the risk every single officer takes. That's why we should appreciate them for what they do - everyday.
My main concern with this election is the county taking fed money. We should be independent. The Sheriff of any county is the most powerful elected position. He should not allow state and/or federal people to run rampant.
A perfect candidate for Lamar County would be former Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill. See what he did for Clayton County? As soon as he beats the 37 politically motivated corruption charges against him, I suggest the local Democrat Party contact him to see if he will move to Lamar County and run for Sheriff. He would be a big hit with many of the local residents with his "hands on" style and we would get away from the "good old boys" that some people complain about. BTW..just who are these "good old boys"? Any names?
Marv... you are a IDIOT... Hill is EXACTLY where he needs to be.. guilty as sin & will FINALLY pay for all he did WRONG in Clayton County.. Im sure if he trys to come here.... he wont make it long at all!
Hmmm...sounds like you want to maintain the status quo regarding Lamar county politics. Are you one of the "good old boy" hiding behind a 'Anonymous' name?
Answer my questions...
Who are these "good old boys"? Any names? Are there any "gool old girls".
If not. Why not?
I no a guy who had a store in b-ville, Got busted into all the time, no one ever got cought.
They would just get away with it everytime. That was until Joe was sheriff, Joe himself joined in with the stake-outs. Guess-what ?? (THEY GOT BUSTED) These crooks were breaking into stores all over the county. turns out they were even kin to one of the store owners,
The crooks were arrested and a confession was obtained, A few months later we had an election and a change in leadership, not long after the D.A. dismissed the case and the charges were dropped. The crooks got away with it Scott free, All because somebody at the sheriffs office lost the evidence. (Its crazy how people can just lose stuff) but for this reason my vote will be for joe aleast he did catch the crooks
I have never met, much less seen Brad White. Hint: make yourself visible to those of us who go to work everyday, go home when we are done, eat out once a week, and are otherwise quiet law-abiding citizens. We may not be out in the public eye so much, but we are the rebar in the concrete in this town, if you will pardon the allegory.
I'd say in his current capacity, which is not as a politician but rather a peace officer, that is a good thing on your part. Say, how often do you go out to dinner with the other two candidates?
you folks ever wonder why industries will not locate to lamar county? why there are no jobs, the crime rate continues to rise while the overall quality of life goes down in lamar county? does it seem odd that lamar county is passed by when it comes to business, housing Ect..?think about it people, this is not a mayberry city ,as bad as you want it to be.
buy yourselves a scanner tune it to the local law and emergency chanels.sit back and listen.read the local paper, look around the next time your in ingles, cvs, freds what do you see?ride by gordon during class change, ride around town, all over town (if you got the guts)
this isn't your typical little town, its far from it.drugs, unsolved murders, missing persons. a DA and judges that dish out plea deals like Mcdonalds dishes out fries.
wake up people your "little county" as you like to call it.is slipping into a swill pit full of crime, drugs, death and corruption.
I am definitely ready for a change in the sheriffs dept from the outside not in. The investigative dept. definitely needs new investigators or they need to be retrained. It is pretty disheartening when I as a citizen notice a footprint on an exterior door that was completey missed by the investigators. The criminals never have been caught.
get used to it.things are not going to change in lamar county because the citizens are too scared to stand on their own and have the guts to elect someone other than one of the good ol boys.they have been brainwashed their whole lives that there are only certian people that are allowed to be the sheriff, the white guy WILL get elected because he has been gromed by waller.this will ensure the same old crap will continue.nothing will change.
Please keep in mind that there are more elections, remember how the tax commissioner was elected on Mrs Pippin's flim-flam move, I was in the office last week, one was outside smoking, one was reading a book, one had her head down napping, Mrs. Torbert was the only one that spoke and was working, sleepy waited on me, the office reeks of cigarete smoke. Other than Mrs. Thrash who else is running for re-election?we need a new superior court clerk and probate.
The employees and the tax commissioner have always been courteous and prompt in taking care of me when I go in there for a tag purchase or questions. Sounds like you have a personal problem with the tag office. To be fair, check all the county facilities out. When people are on break they go out and smoke if they chose. From the courthouse, recreational dept, to the Commissioners Building. Get that wad out of your panties.
I believe the tax commisioner was elected by the voters in Lamar Co.She was not just put in office. I do think you have a personal problem with that office. Whats wrong? DID They make you pay your taxes? HMMMM
Dont want to talk about the bucket truck...lets talk about new uniforms, weapons, and toys or a tremendous turnover rate which of course led to money spent on hiring and training new employees for 4 solid years or loosing quite a few casses in court due to mistakes....which would lead one to question basic law enforcement knowledge.
I still want to know who the good ole boys are!
To Barry c what does being white have to do with anything. Do you think there is a separate
heaven for each race? I'm white and and I vote on character and trust not race. It sounds like you have a personal issue to deal with. Also to the truth there are no industry going in anywhere thanks to the current goverment in washington and their rules and regulations that are killing the middle class.
what about the Donna Johnson & the Ann Morgan cases?has waller or any of his cronies ever said anything about these unsolved cases?how about the pippin lady getting killed?
hell no you havn't and you never will.when will you folks wake up?this crap is going on around you every day!!!how can you look yourself in the mirror every monring?knowing you dont have the guts to stand up and demand answers.no wonder when i walk thru ingles all i see is people with sad faces or their heads hanging down.how a sad life that must be.
Goodness gracious Barry - where are you living? I moved down here from NY and this is the happiest, most well adjusted town I ever lived in. Nothing is perfect but I got to to tell you - Lamar County is safer, cleaner, healthier, and friendlier than any place I've ever been. And I have travelled all over the country. There's more freedom here, more understanding of liberty and the constitution, and better law enforcement. Take a pill and go see a doctor. You sound like a hurting individual.
He does have a legit point regarding covered up murders in Lamar County. There are several more if you really look back including a police officer who was reported as a suicide even though the evidence and public knowledge shows different.
The medical examiner determines cause and manner of death in indivuduals who die outside a healthcare facility. The Sheriff does not determine whether a death is suicide, homicide or from natural causes.
Do you think local law enforcement can determine how someone died? That's not how it works. Once again, I bet the GBI was involved and probably on the scene and the officer was taken to the crime lab for an autopsy. If you knew all of the details then you would know you are full of BS. I'm sure a lot of thought was put into protecting the dead officers family from hurtful things. That's all i'm going to say about that except the cause of his death was not the cover up.
Its crazy how some peoples imagination automatically assume the worst and without accurate knowledge, lash out and accuse people of things. You should make sure you know what you are talking about before you make statements like that.
Thanks for saying that Robert. B'ville is a great place to live and thats why these nay sayers live here. They just want to have something to complain about.
Ia he a resident of Lamar County? I've never never heard of him. This ain't the old west where the first gun toter to ride into town gets to be sheriff.
Yes he let the GBI handle the case, which by the way, is the correct thing to do. Its called following protocol. (I guess you have to know the correct protocols before you can follow them...) Anyway, at least waller called in the GBI, just like he had to do when he regained his position as Sheriff. Do you remember the inmate that had a flashbang strapped to his throat? Who was Sheriff then? Oh that definitely happened! What a standup administration he had. I think there was a law suit involved with that also. Did he call in the GBI? Ummmmmm? Didnt waller also have to call in the GBI to investigate missing money right about the same time? So you see, no one is perfect. Seems to me things were left in quite a mess.
If you want to start slinging the poo, we can. But I think you need to remember that Waller is not running for Sheriff.
I do not know Mr. Usher but I do know the other two. I guess right now Mr. Usher is the logical choice. Do not want Buice and do not need a Waller cronie!
I am voting for Joe Buice. Yeah sure, he came from Dept. of Wildlife and Game. My grandad was a game warden for years in the 60's in South Carolina. He had very high morals and character. I can remember as a kid, he put handcuffs on a few people. Being Joe Buice doesn't have the years under his belt like Sheriff Waller, he is prone to make mistakes in his lst year of sheriff which he did. I am sure Sheriff Waller made mistakes too. I like Joe Buice's attitude of getting the job done and not looking the other way when crimes are committed by some of the locals. Crime is crime and Jailtime is jailtime. Jail should be run where inmates are inmates and jail will be the last place they will want to return once they are out. I think the whole dept. needs to be shook up and deputies or jail staff needs to be let go that would rather be a friend to the inmate than a law enforcement officer. I overheard a guy talking to someone in a convenience store the other week. He had been released from Lamar County Jail and was bragging about it. Told the guy he was talking to that he had been in quite a few jails. But if he ever got locked up again Lamar County Jail was where he wanted to be.

It is a Right to Vote!!

You have the right to vote for whoever you please. Joe Buice is a nice guy but he has no idea how to manage people. As an Officer of the Law he can get the job done, but running an organization is not one of his talents. He needs to stick to working with Law Enforcement as an individual because he is a pleasure to work with but not for! This was proven in his last term through the great turn over rate and to have Lamar County go through that again would just run it to the ground. We need someone in Office who is a people person and not a Micro-Manager.
I will answer your question again and see if it gets posted. Yes and he did not Lead people but Controlled them. So much more I would like to say but it will not get posted so I will leave it at that.
There is a lot that wont get posted about him even though its the truth. Happens all the time. We all know how much good coverage he will get....that ought to tell you something. DJ's case will soon be running full force in the news again. There is nothing wrong wih that, but I think it is politicaly motivated.
brad white has always been fair and honest. he is NOT soft like one of the previous post would imply. he is a man you can vote for! not just someone to pick to vote against the other candidates.
"Didnt waller also have to call in the GBI to investigate missing money right about the same time? So you see, no one is perfect. Seems to me things were left in quite a mess.
If you want to start slinging the poo, we can. But I think you need to remember that Waller is not running for Sheriff."
And so when Waller arrested the Pippins for shooting a dog ON THEIR PROPERTY, what was that?
Remember, this was an escaped police attack dog.
Google "Police dog bites child" before responding.
At the exact same time, a caller to LCSO about stray dogs would told to shoot them. I know because I did. "Shoot it" was the response.
In as few words as possible, explain the difference to me.
As for the Milner incident, why was the individual kept locked up for SEVEN months? Especially when Waller's collection of fools had to WAKE HIM UP IN HIS BED that night!
As for Waller not running again, I seem to have missed the announcement. Can you provide a link or other source? I want to celebrate.
The individual was locked up until the GBI finished investigating the case, so ask them why it took so long. That was not in sheriff Waller's control. "his cronies waking him up"....what the crap? You have completely lost it! Ar you running for Sheriff Anon? I guess you think the sheriff should work 24/7...lol!
As to the dog case, weren't they arrested because they lied to the deputies about what happened to the dog or something to that effect? There was more to that then just someone shooting a dog on their property. He had every right to arrest them. Was the warrant for their arrest issued from Spalding County maybe? Do you need me to explain what a warrant is...lol! Anyway, it went to court and the court determined the outcome of that case...........NOT THE SHERIFF OR THE SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT. Tell the whole story sometime instead of taking what you want from it. By the way, Spalding County paid for the search helicopter. Not Lamar County. And a police dog is not just a regular old dog...lots of money and training go into them. But everyone knows that. I also guess it is up to the individual person to decide if they believe the dog was attacking those people or not. The dog certainly cant tell his side of the story can he?
What your answer to the flash-bang strapped to that inmates neck and apparently nothing being done about it?
High Turnover? Hate to say it, but that many employees cant be bad. That alone speaks volumes about the leader. Do you know that people in administrative positions are evaluated on their turnover rates? There is a good reason for it and not just loss of money. I would love to see what the actual numbers were and the cost of training during that time.
Does your employer search thru your personal cell phone? Just wondering if that is a normal practice. I need your help on that one because I know someone who has had that problem and I think that is crossing the line, invading privacy, etc. Since you seem to know so much about everything what should I tell them to do?
BRAD WHITE!! I would like to see someone who will better the department, regardless of who it takes to get rid of or hire to make it the best. I have a large amount of respect for White. When the tornadoes hit hard a few months back I remember him cutting trees bring water and other things to the workers and home owners who were in need. I know what I have seen in the past and I know Brad can help the community with what needs to be done!
his cronies waking him up"....what the crap? You have completely lost it! Ar you running for Sheriff Anon? I guess you think the sheriff should work 24/7...lol!
Were you there? I was. The gentleman's house was surrounded by virtually every law enforcement type with driving distance. A sea of blue lights.
After repeated shouts on the PA system to come out, there was no response. Obvious in light what happens next.
The front door was kicked in and entry made. The "subject" was found sound asleep in his bed!
Now, I am sure that most dangerous criminals commit violent acts against police officers, cross the street, and climb into their bed to go fast asleep.
But of course the "thin blue line" didn't allow any common sense to interfere with logical thinking, or allow bail for the hapless fellow and he was locked away for SEVEN months.
I'll say it again. Waller should have been recalled and run out of the county after that stunt. How Lamar county and Milner escaped being sued in to bankruptcy I'll never understand.
Now, if the Pippins "lied" about shooting the dog (understandable in light of what happened in Milner), why were they charged with animal cruelty instead of giving false statements and obstruction of justice?
Nope, Waller's departure cannot happen soon enough or fast enough. His antics (remember the Buggy Days bomber nonsense?) are some of the most egregious aspects of what is wrong with this county.
I understand the sheriff's race is important, please keep in mind there are other offices up for grabs, we really need some new faces in these offices. Just because you have held the position for 20 plus years does not mean there is someone out there equally qualified. Just because you are an incumbant does not mean you are the most qualified. It would be great for some of the younger generations to run and I'm old as dirt but know there are some bright minds out there.
The Buggy Days Bomber incident was also turned over to the GBI, as it should have been. You have a very bad memory or should I say selective memory? It looks like you need to blame all of your "issues" on the GBI.
I hate that happened to that guy in Milner but what has that got to do with having to wake the sheriff up? You think he should have known to be awake because that incident was happening. You are grasping for straws here. The person responsible for that incident, went to prison and served his time. I am pretty sure that guy in Milner got paid a pretty penny for his wrongful conviction. But lets look back at the situation. You have a deputy stating that this guy shot him. Why would anyone doubt that. If I were there and involved, I would have never thought the deputy shot himself. No one would have. Don't pretend different. The way I see it, Sheriff Waller stood by his deputy until he had reason enough not to. Then it was turned over to the GBI. That's how its suppose to be. Your boy will never ever be that way. Hes not a leader.
So now that we know Waller is not running, lets stop discussing him. There is no point in it. Lord I don't know what you can vent your anger on now.
Only thing this shows me is that Mr. Buice wants to run as a Republican, but since he ran on the Democratic ticket last time he is to scared to switch. This should send both party members a message!
What message would that be? He couldn't run republican the lst time. Larry Waller had that slot. This time Brad White registered republican and Usher had registered as a democrat. Hopefully people will vote on a persons character, and who will be best to make sure criminals are caught and citizens are protected. I am independent and have voted democrat, republican and independent. In this race it will be Joe Buice for sure. He only lost by a handful of votes last time. But alot of mud was thrown at him from Larry Waller through the newspaper. That was followed up by people writing letters to support Larry Waller that was assured jobs if he was put back in office. Joe Buice never threw mud back but ran on his record. Who can forget the rednecks with the confederate flags in back of the pickup trucks with Larry Waller signs at the Lamar Tire parking lot. The county has suffered tremendously when he was not re-elected. Brad White is a nice guy. He pitches in when needed in the community and is starting up a bible study at the sheriff office for the deputys. But a sheriff to me is all about finding criminals and making a name for himself and the jail. In other words, criminals will know not to come to Lamar County because of fear of being caught and doing time in a jail that does not cater to anyone. Not even family. You get a dui or anyother crime, you will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
What in the world makes you think only one person can run for each party? You can have as many as wants to qualify. If you think Joe didn't throw mud, you must have your head stick in it!
But then they risk losing in a primary instead of general election in Nov. I'd bet that's why Buice ran was Democrat instead of Republican and facing Waller in a primary and why he's running as Independent this time.
Character? are you kidding me? He and his character made a real good name for themse the last time he had the position(you got that part right.) Everyone knows him or knows stories about him. He is his own worst enemy. He lost that election all on his own. As for arrest and making criminals scared, I am willing to bet money there have been more arrest and convictions under Waller's administration. Prove me wrong and show me some stats.
Rednecks at Buggy Days and with rebel flags...OMG. I never noticed that before or the same people sitting at the same place for the last 20 years! Grow up please.
I know the reason you brought that up and it wasn't because of the rednecks. He should learn that a warrant is a necessary thing in the law business. But you cant tell him anything can you... What arrogance. Just what we need right?
As far as Brad White, he is a nice guy. He does things for the community. He has more knowledge in his little finger than some have in their whole body. Oh and most important, he does not have an ego problem. And guess what...his name is not Waller. I don't think Brad has ever been sheriff of Lamar county and he is not running on Larry Waller's last 20 years in office.
So instead of you continuing to bash someone who isn't running for the position, why don't you point out some positives reasons your candidate of choice should be re-elected....but you cant lie.
Mr. Buice and Mr. White are going to have a really hard time beating a big name celebrity like USHER. I mean, he will bring in his boys Lil' John and Ludacris and clean up this community with the A-Town stomp. YEAH!
What does a nice guy have to do with fighting crime? Since I presume you work for the present administration , you know yourself all sheriff's make mistakes their first year in office. I am sure if you went back to the lst 4 years Larry Waller was sheriff , he probably made the same mistakes that Joe Buice did. Brad White was trained by Larry Waller. That is what is a concern of mine and other voters I have talked to. I don't remember Joe Buice having problems with his deputys fooling around with each other that were married. Check into why the previous jailer left and was replaced by Carol Sutton. I will not name the female employed by the sheriffs department but she was involved with quite a few of the married deputies at the jail. She was driving around in a nice new pickup truck bought by the sheriff's department. How about when the juveniles were brought in by Larry Waller to make extra money and they almost tore the jail apart and almost killed a older inmate. They had to call Barnesville, Lamar County, Gordon police and State Patrol in to get control of the jail. How about the nurse that got knocked down and out by an inmate that should have already been transported out. Just a few facts out of alot I know about the present administration. It might be a good thing to have a Sheriff that is in "control" of everything.
It has a lot to do with being nice and having a good personality. You have to be able to get along with other people. That includes staff, citizens, and other law enforcement agencies. You have to deal with people and that requires skill. By the way, I could see the first year as being rocky but not 4. When someone believes that they do no wrong and know everything under the sun, there will be no change in them. Its not going to happen. You talk about issues and made out your little list but guess what....There will always be issues with any administration because you are dealing with criminals. Violence comes along with that. The issue is, how do you handle those problems? It takes leadership. Four years of nothing has made up a lot of minds.
As far as people cheating on each other, I think that went on in his administration too. Remember the big party they had? I sure do. I wont get into that just yet. Anyway, you cant link Brad to anything like that because it didnt happen. You are obviously part of the old staff so dont be a hypocrit. Im sure you know the going ons. If he had really been concerned with cheaters, he would have gotten rid of the repeat offenders when he took over the position. So you/he have no room to talk.
As far as cleaning up the SO. What did he do? Firing people and getting it set up to your liking is one thing, but having CONSTANT turnerover for four years should tell you something. Bad leadership skills! That cost a lot of money too. As an employer, you cannot dictate what people do when they are off of work. I dont care if you are the Sheriff. You can expect your officers to be professional at all times but cant force yourself into their private lives. Being loyal to your employer does not mean, well should not mean, that you cant talk to or socialize with people outside of the SO. Thats taking it a little far dont you think? Its sad to need that much control. Good leaders dont need to scream, yell and curse at their employees. It makes you look like an out of control dummy. So in the end, there was no respect. Is there a medical term for that? What is it when you have "CONTROL" issues of that magnatude?
I have worked for Waller and buice and worked with Brad and there is NO DOUBT Brad is the best qualified for the job.I can say this from first hand 100% knowledge and not hear say.
Probably alot of these posts against Buice are deputies under the current administration. When Buice won, he let go of alot of Waller's people that were lazy and cleaned house. It was ran more like a professional law enforcement facility. Work should be work and you should be 100% loyal to your employer. The last place employees should be playing around and lazy is the sheriff's office. All work and no play. Waller's people have a gravy train and they know it and do not want it to end.
lol you are probably right if you look at the opinion poll..........that count is getting closer to the number of people he fired...bahahahahah!!!
Ive never worked with either of them. Believe me, word gets around. Especially in the tight knit community of law enforcement. When you're in the public eye, especially for four years, in a small town, people figure things out. People know more than you or whomever would like them to know. This is going to be a very interesting election.
All I can say is Brad White has my vote. I have never heard a bad thing about him. No gossip and no rummors. I have heard only good things and he is experienced enough for the position. He is not Waller so I dont know why some people are basshing Waller like he is the one running in this election......strange. I guess they cant trash Brads name so they are trashing Waller just because of the connection....even stranger!
I am sure most of the votes for Brad are Sheriffs dept, county employees and family. Don't forget Larry Waller did his share of getting rid of Buices people when he was voted back in by 8 or 9 votes over Buice. You want to know about parties. There were some good ones under Wallers watch too.
Anon do you really think that 109 exemployees in 3 1/2 yrs were that bad and lazy really!!??I know and worked with most every one of them and most found jobs in lawenforcement else where.2 went on to be Police Chiefs 1 a well respected investigator in Fayette County and plenty of others through out l e.Remember the old saying one rotten apple can spoil the whole barrel maybe that apple was Buice!
enough, can we save some of this for later in the year and talk about some of the other offices up for grabs? any rumors about who might run for other offices?
After reading some of these post, we should be thankful we have folks that want to run for any office. I wouldn't put myself thru these comments. What is so sad is that it's going to get worse before it gets better. Our world is pretty bad right now, and we just make it worse with all the bad and sometimes lies we post on here. GOD do have mercy on us!
you wonder why lamar county is 25 years behind the rest of the world and falling father behind each and every day.
Who do you think will be right for the job?
Another reason, the Pike folks are to cheap to pay to blog. It is still free here.
for Lamar County I'm glad he wants the job.
Sorry to tell you but Joe made lots of friends that will never forget him. The only reason you are pro Joe is because of D johnson. Everyone else knows him for what he is and it wont be sheriff again.
My main concern with this election is the county taking fed money. We should be independent. The Sheriff of any county is the most powerful elected position. He should not allow state and/or federal people to run rampant.
Answer my questions...
Who are these "good old boys"? Any names? Are there any "gool old girls".
If not. Why not?
They would just get away with it everytime. That was until Joe was sheriff, Joe himself joined in with the stake-outs. Guess-what ?? (THEY GOT BUSTED) These crooks were breaking into stores all over the county. turns out they were even kin to one of the store owners,
The crooks were arrested and a confession was obtained, A few months later we had an election and a change in leadership, not long after the D.A. dismissed the case and the charges were dropped. The crooks got away with it Scott free, All because somebody at the sheriffs office lost the evidence. (Its crazy how people can just lose stuff) but for this reason my vote will be for joe aleast he did catch the crooks

wake up people your "little county" as you like to call it.is slipping into a swill pit full of crime, drugs, death and corruption.
To Barry c what does being white have to do with anything. Do you think there is a separate
heaven for each race? I'm white and and I vote on character and trust not race. It sounds like you have a personal issue to deal with. Also to the truth there are no industry going in anywhere thanks to the current goverment in washington and their rules and regulations that are killing the middle class.
hell no you havn't and you never will.when will you folks wake up?this crap is going on around you every day!!!how can you look yourself in the mirror every monring?knowing you dont have the guts to stand up and demand answers.no wonder when i walk thru ingles all i see is people with sad faces or their heads hanging down.how a sad life that must be.
Its crazy how some peoples imagination automatically assume the worst and without accurate knowledge, lash out and accuse people of things. You should make sure you know what you are talking about before you make statements like that.
Deputy in Spalding Co.
You mean kinda sorta like putting a man in jail for something he didn't do? Yeah, that really shows "basic" law enforcement knowledge.
Our legendary hero Waller did that with the Milner police officer shooting. You do remember, right?
Turns out the idiot shot himself! But no problem, Waller left the innocent guy locked up for seven months until the GBI cleared him.
Waller should have recalled and run out of the county for that stunt.
If you want to start slinging the poo, we can. But I think you need to remember that Waller is not running for Sheriff.
Have a wonderful day. I certainly will.
Are you avoiding answering any of my questions?
Is there an election fund for those running?
