Johntavious Barkley is Lamar County’s STAR student for 2012. Following in the footsteps of four past STAR students, he has named his academic bowl coach and Advanced Placement teacher Scott Turner as his STAR Teacher.

I would be curious as to how many times Mr. T has gotten STAR teacher! he is very much deserving as well! Congrats to both!

Five, actually, some of those in a row. However (and I agree Scott Turner is deserving) he asked me to play that down since some teacher up in North Georgia has been tagged for the honor 26 times.

Johntavious is the kind of fellow student it was a drag to go to school with, since he excels at everything. Lol.
Now that I'm grown, I understand that it's because he works hard and manages his time well.
