Armed robbery suspect captured

Antonio Travis Goddard, the suspect in the Jan. 11 armed robbery of B&L Convenience Store in Barnesville Jan. 11 was captured in Spalding County Thursday morning. At noon, he was being transferred to the custody of Lamar authorities.

....So are we just suppose to "pat him on the back" and tell him to be a "good" boy?? I grew up in the time era where the teachers were allowed to spank in the schools, we said the Pledge of Allegiance with our hand over our heart and God was NOT left out of the schools!!! That is the problem today...all that commit crimes are just patted on the back and let go! How are they going to learn right from wrong and have respect for the other person if they are not punished?? I know we are suppose to forgive, but what about the victim's rights?? No one ever thinks about them these days....in fact, most of the victims are usually killed by a gun (robber), auto wreck (DUI), etc. So what about the victims ??

Praise the Lord! I did not say just pat him on the back. I said I serve a forgiving GOD! he needs to serve his time and while he is in there maybe he will get to know the Lord! That's all that I meant. Listen, I haven't been saved all my life so I can still whoop your butt!

Our local law enforcement investigated this case, eventually developing the identity of this suspect from forensic evidence at the scene. The suspect fled this jurisdiction. Spalding County served the warrant....so good job by all. But, I don't think Joe Buice is responsible for solving this case. Good try though.

Great Job Spalding County Sheriff's Department. Doesn't Joe Buice work for them? Antonio made the wrong choice when he crossed over the line into Spalding County. He would probably still be free if he was in Lamar County.

Um...have not seen anything stating who the arresting officer in Spalding County was so don't count your chickens before your eggs hatch cause some may get broken....

I was told that BPD was told where he was at and they called a spalding deputy. spalding and griffing pd went to the home and caught him. Seems to me like common sense. Why does everyone have be negative.

You should never wish anything bad on anyone. The things you have can be gone before you even make it back home. Get saved and get to know Jesus! Are you still stuck on that poor dog that belonged to Spalding County? Or is it the fact that Barnesville PD identified this guy and knew he was in Griffin. Wow since he was in Griffin, they picked him up. That makes so much sense doesn't it. So it was another great performance by the Barnesville PD and Spalding County.
Just be thankful this idiot is off the streets for a while.
This should be an important lesson in how agencies working together can accomplish so much more than an agency that is completely separated and cut off from all other law enforcement.

Yup, stuck on an idiot that uses a helicopter to search for a dog, but can't find this guy or the Magnum bandit. Remember them? Breaking into Lamar county homes while driving a Dodge Magnum car.

But our heroic sheriff neglected to even issue a press release until Monroe county did a BOLO.

Everyone else seems to be doing their job except our "Brought Back" sheriff. Unless you count I-75 press releases.
