Barnesville police investigators, already busy with their probe into the murder of cabbie John Dixson, are now working an early-morning drive-by shooting at a party. Five arrests have been made.

what are the odds they are obama supporters?very good would be my guess.typical thug wanna-be mentality.and the sad thing is,it will never get any better.

I am not an Obama supporter, but it does not matter who these people support. Something bad is happening in our town and I hope the police can get to the bottom of this mess.

This is criminal, not political.

Maybe it's time for the FBI to step in and clean house just like they did when they cleaned house and revamped the New Orleans Police Department in the mid 1990's. Additionally is it time to call in the US DEA to help crack down and arrest those who are responsible for the production and distribution of the drugs that seem to run wild in B'Ville?

What is the plan to overcome this crime problem in our community? I cannot believe that no one has addressed this in our local news. It seems that some of the local officials (city manager, county commission) or someone in authority could take time to address the crime here and what the plan is to eliminate this problem. There needs to be an effort to address this issue. Keeping people informed makes people feel much more comfortable and safe during times like these. It is a shame this is happening to our community. The bigger shame is that no one is addressing the community.

Completely agree with you, Laura. Where are the city and county leaders on this? We aren't in Macon or Atlanta. Why are they not out talking about their plans to address this?

We have a venue over at Ritz Park. A microphone could be set up and I would gladly walk over there to listen to what our law enforcement/ city officials/ whoever has to say about this.
We may not be a big city, but we see the beginning of big city crime and perhaps the citizenry needs to be addressed.
C'mon, speak to us like we matter and like you care how we feel.
