As a community, we mourn the loss of a highly valued hard working citizen. John Dixson was an asset to our town. As individuals, we mourn the loss of a precious friend and neighbor. John Dixson was that friend and neighbor.

Now isn't this a perfect example of 'the pot calling the kettle black'? Mr. Chief Magistrate Judge, don't you think it would be wise to practice what you preach? Why would the average person put themselves in danger by reporting crimes so that you in turn, can just turn around and blow off victims testimony, officers testimony and even evidence. And how dare you criticize someone else for using 'he's my friend's child' when you do the same. Let's not forget your comment 'police don't need to be involved, they're corrupt anyway'. Really? Are you kidding me? Did it occur to you that maybe, just maybe, it's not the police being corrupt that people are concerned about? It's you! You seem to be a gleaming example of an elected official who doesn't mind being bought, bribed, swayed and dined to rule in favor of a known criminal. One of these days, the victims of the county will get justice because you will get caught being corrupt. It is truly sad that victims have to put their trust in you and hope that you will do your job and punish criminals. One of these days, your corrupt and biased rulings are going to result in someone getting seriously hurt or killed by criminals you let walk, if that hasn't happened already. I'm nauseated by the thought that you feel so high and mighty that you can sit there and point your finger at other people for allowing crime to get out of control, when you sit at the bench and let criminals walk.

Yeah I totally agree with this! But when you know that the law knows what is going on and they don't do anything about it then why should an innocent citizen report it. Why report anything when it is just going to cost taxpayers and they will be right back on the street.
I had someone say yesterday, why are we loosing innocent lives fighting for this country? Let the prisoners go fight, they seem to like crime and violence let them go fight in wars and save taxpayers money.

Number one The magistrate judge does not give anyone probation he only sets bond and settles civil cases. Learn something about the court system. Number two if he's doing such a bad job why don't you run for his office. Number three the police knowing and their proving it is two differnet things. Maybe if you were to call and report crime the thugs can be caught in the act. You don't have to leave a name to get involved I don't and it works. Try it sometime!

As far as reporting crime anonymously...good luck. My sister and brother in law live in the city limits and every time they call in to report suspicious activity in their neighborhood, the dispatcher always asks for their name and address. Not only that, he usually has an attitude like "you're calling to report a stranger lurking in your elderly neighbor's back yard? Really?" It's extremely discouraging for them to be treated that way, but the only other solution to calling to report it is to confront the person/persons themselves. I hope it never comes to that. So what do you do? Shoot first and ask questions later?

I wonder who wrote this little speach for him? I sat through his pathetic court once and watched him allow a victim of a crime to be harassed and be put down by an attorney and the accused. It was sickening. I have absolutely NO RESPECT for a judge that is so damn insensitive and never will.

To barnesville runaway just tell them a play name or do as i do tell them its none of your business and please buy a scanner to make sure the call was handled properly. if it was not file a complaint and there are several out of towns groups that will glad to handle that for you, If you do tell your name i will admit they will give it out.

We as a community need to do more to stop the drug thugs from harming law abiding citizens. Mr. Dixson was a good man and did not deserve to suffer such a violent death.

Wow. Thanks for the advice Native. I have a scanner on my iphone. I'll be sure to listen next time a call is made to report suspicious activity.
