The following cases were adjudicated in Lamar superior court April 5 with Judge Bill Fears presiding:

Rodriquez Cential Foster, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, obstruction of an officer, aggravated assault, reckless conduct and discharging a firearm on a public street: mental evaluation ordered.

Felicia Lanett Hodge, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon: one year in prison.

just a list of garbage is all it is.people who will never amount to anything.they will all be a burden on society.

WOW! Check this list out. Am I reading something wrong? Are you telling me that 36% of those scheduled to appear in front of Judge Fears....had something more important to do? That is the way I read "failure to appear, bench warrant issued."

Maybe I do have TOO much respect for the law. I have been told that, as I abide by the speed limit.

What does "not prosecuted" mean?

Can a knowledgeable person enlighten me on this?

Gee! I am a little fearful of all judges...even if their name is not Judge Fears.

I'm with you. I'd like to understand why so many "not prosecuted" entries there are? Seems like most of those a theft related...was there not enough evidence or did the DA just decide not to pursue those cases. And it looks llike drug related charges are getting a pretty easy time of it.

By the way, all those that failed to appear obviously do not take law enforcement and the judicial system in Lamar County seriously. Would be nice to hear about it when they find out how wrong they are.

I also would like to know what "not prosecuted" means. Did they pay restitution to have their case dismissed? Some of these names for theft or repeater offenders.

the decision not to prosecute can be driven by various reasons. here are a few off the top of my head. the DA's office can chime in with others.

in drug cases, drugs are tested. sometimes they are not drugs. thus, not prosecuted.

another drug instance. three people in a car in which drugs are found. all are charged. one later comes forward, admits possession of the drugs and exonerates the other two. thus, not prosecuted.

family violence cases are often not prosecuted because battered or abused spouses change their minds.

theft cases are sometimes not prosecuted after victims are paid restitution and drop charges.

etc....

Thank you, Walter. I understand it better now. BUT I will not hold my breath until the DA's office chimes in on anything. That would be comparable to communication with the public. That AIN'T happening!

I am curious as to the status of the sentence for the multiple listed offenders (read: Immanuel Babajide ). Are all these years of probation consecutive or concurrent?( a consecutive sentence being when the period of imprisonment or probation equals the sum of all the sentences; a concurrent sentence being the period of imprisonment or probation equals the length of the longest sentence)
