What a sad day for Lamar County. Gene will be missed by so many.... he was a kind and dedicated man. Our condolences to his family. We will never forget him.

Gene was a wonderful man, who worked hard to bring disparate people together. Always kind, friendly, and full of wisdom. While we will miss him here, God called home one of His saints. For those who loved Gene Hardwick, we will all meet again one day in heaven.

Very sad for our community to lose a wonderful man like Gene. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this time. A great man, a great Rotarian, and a Great American! Gene will be missed by many.

So sad to hear of Gene's passing. He was a wonderful man, neighbor, and friend to my family. He will be greatly missed!

Gene will be missed in our community. He was an effective public servant who made many contributions for the betterment of Lamar County. The
Industrial Development Authority (IDA) has lost one of it most ardent and effective supporters.
