Despite its China-based parent company’s recent legal troubles, General Protecht U.S. Inc. still plans to build an electrical components plant in Barnesville.

People foolish enough to be duped and conned by a local crooked dysfunctional real estate agent/ ex-judge need to stay away from the Chinese. They especially need to not take local money or state money and spend it on people who are in and out of legal problems.

The Chinese are just looking for an easy mark. They aren't in it because we have something unique to offer them, other than our foolishness.

This whole thing sounds fishy to me. I don't trust them not to import the components and start illegally making patented devices here. Then they get in legal trouble and bail on the whole thing. Another abandoned industrial building in the region.

The local manipulators and their cheerleaders are no match for the ruthless Chinese. When the free money is gone so will go the Chinese.

This is a VERY shady Chinese company with a history of legal problems related to patent infringement and fake UL certifications.

Why hasn't the State raised any red flags? Someone is going to end up with mud on their face...

Well how many in Barnesville are in on it to? Im sure that many will make some money off of it,except the citizens of Lamar county.

I looked up general protecht and they were in trouble for using fake ul listings. ul labels certify a product meets ul safety tests and standards to protect the life and property of users.

if a company stoops to the level of using fake ul labels they probably will steal from anyone and anything. the company in atlanta representing them has bad history if you look them up. it appeared to me a majority of companies they represent go belly up and leave others holding the bag.

Southern Textiles was never going to be here. That was an exaggeration or outright falsehood by the IDA to make themselves look like they were doing something for the $100K a year we pay the IDA director.

Southern Textiles is renting cargo space at the old Carter's Mill for unloading and storing materials that come in containers from China. The imports actually replaced American jobs, and Southern Textiles has a staff of zero in Lamar. They send people up from Forsyth when needed to load or unload things.
