Congressional debate tonight
The Lamar Republican District U.S. Congressional debate, to be held at the school Fine Arts Center, will feature all three candidates for the 3rd District U.S. Congressional office now held by Rep. Lynn Westmoreland.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the debate beginning at 7 p.m.
Tuesday, July 3. The three candidates are Rep. Westmoreland, Kent Kingsley and Chip Flanegan.

There was some interesting time while we got started without power due to the storm that hit while we were getting ready to begin, and everyone was a good sport as the debate got underway under emergency lighting at the Fine Arts Center. Dr. Truby and Mr. Bill Baker were patient and active making sure we all were comfortable and finally the power was back on!
Our candidates all spoke well! The audience was something between 100-150 people which was wonderful in such a storm!
